My eyes widened, but my body was too weak to sit up reflexively.
"What do you mean? Who the hell are they?" I asked, panic rising.
"Some cowards are looking for a fight with me. Don't worry. I just called to say I might not make it on time. I'll deal with these damn annoying bastards," she said excitedly.
"Is it like before?"
"I don't know. But this time I spotted them while still on the way to the airport. So I turned back, and now I'm chasing their cars." Jane's voice burned with furious energy, which somehow calmed me.
If anyone should worry, it was those stalkers messing with the wrong person.
"Be careful, Jane."
"Yes… don't overthink it. I called so you wouldn't worry waiting for me. I'll be there before the wind even notices."
I gave her a soft hum and ended the call. Who could be stalking her?
