All eyes lifted toward her.
Liv's gaze was calm, yet sharp as glass. "From today onward, remember this, you are under my authority as the Duke's lady. I am not your enemy… as long as you remember your place."
Silence grew heavier before Azzura set her teacup down, the soft clink echoing through the glass hall. With a calm yet dignified gesture, she looked at Liv and asked for permission to speak.
Liv gave a small nod."Go ahead."
"What do you mean by the rules under your command?" Azzura asked, her tone courteous but sharp beneath the surface.
"As you know," Liv replied evenly, "all matters within the castle fall under the authority of the lady of the house. His Grace the Duke has entrusted that duty to me. Were you not aware of that?"
