A long time had passed before Jay finally opened his eyes. He stared at the familiar ceiling of the room he once used in Zeltar Castle, before he moved to the borderlands where Zareth Castle stood.
Slowly, he sat up while trying to piece together what had happened earlier. He realized he had changed and frightened everyone. The thought irritated him.
He should not have reacted like that, yet how could he remain calm when everything concerned Liv, the woman who was now his wife.
Jay clenched his fists. Annoyance burned inside him because everyone seemed to care more about the Zeltar baby than about Liv. He would never allow anyone to lay a hand on her.
