"You need to see this."
Aria's voice was tight as Marcus entered her office three days after the home invasion. She'd been working nonstop, searching for anything that could prove his innocence.
"What did you find?" Marcus asked.
"Financial records. From five years ago. Transactions that don't match the pattern of your normal business operations." She turned her laptop toward him. "Look at these dates."
Marcus studied the screen. His expression darkened. "These aren't my transactions."
"But they're in your name, routed through accounts registered to you." Aria pulled up more documents. "These accounts look like you were moving money for illegal purposes."
"The art fraud investigation."
"More than that. These transactions coincide with several violent crimes across Europe."
Marcus went very still. "Crime across Europe?"
"Yes." Aria's hands shook as she typed. "Are you being framed?"
"We need some proof, something that shows these aren't actually my transactions?"
