Chapter 65: New Thundercloud Homies!
Charlotte Linlin was gone.
She had come seeking an alliance, eager to take Roy's ideals and make them her own.
But with her simple, naïve mind, she ended up getting fooled by Roy—and even killed her own companion, Streusen.
The more she listened to Roy, the more confused she became. By the end, she didn't even care that the woman beside him, Toki, was his wife.
All that mattered was that Roy was leaving… and she didn't want him to.
"If I want to keep him, I'll have to change myself…" she murmured.
Snow began to fall, soft flakes fluttering through the air. Linlin looked up, remembering the first time she met her brother.
He'd fallen into the sea, and she had jumped in after him—only for him to resurface on his own, leaving her to flounder in the water.
"Then I'll change. If I lose my brother again, I'll go mad…" she whispered.
Charlotte Linlin didn't understand love between man and woman. She only knew that she didn't want to be left behind again.
For the sake of the only brother who cared for her, the future Big Mom was willing to sacrifice everything—even if it meant becoming one of the little fish in Brother Roy's sea.
---
On the giant pirate ship, Redding and the others finally let out a collective sigh of relief as they watched the Big Mom Pirates' vessel fade into the distance.
They'd been terrified that Linlin might suddenly decide to snatch Roy away if she got into another mood swing.
When it came to raw strength, Linlin was a monster. The same girl who could swat Sea Kings aside could just as easily flatten an army of giants.
"Whew…" Redding exhaled, waving a massive hand. "Alright, brothers! Let's move! Time to get out of here before she changes her mind!"
"Yes! Yes, Captain!" the others agreed quickly, scrambling to raise the sails.
Normally, the giants boasted endlessly about their strength—but none of them dared to provoke Linlin. She could crush them all without even trying.
Roy, on the other hand, remained calm.
Linlin might be stronger, but she couldn't bring herself to harm him. However, that same strength could easily wipe out the giants and kidnap him in an instant.
He'd completely underestimated how deeply Linlin cared for him.
"She's a good child," Toki said softly, gazing out at the snow-covered sea.
"It's a pity," Roy sighed. "She's a natural ruler, but that insatiable hunger of hers… it's a curse. If only there were a way to cure it."
He watched the snowflakes melt in his palm, feeling a strange ache in his chest.
Roy's concern for Linlin was genuine—but her condition was beyond his ability to fix.
If not for her uncontrollable hunger, he wouldn't have needed to keep his distance.
Spend enough time together, and even the most stubborn heart might begin to care.
Except for the nun, of course…
---
"Ahem, Master?" Pandora's voice pulled him from his thoughts. The floating Homies hovered nearby, their ethereal bodies glowing faintly.
Behind Pandora was a small thundercloud—newly born, drifting timidly with a childlike expression.
The little Homies floated forward, looking at Roy with pleading eyes.
Born only recently, gifted to him by Linlin herself, it still didn't have a name.
"Oh, right…" Roy said, snapping his fingers. "From now on, you'll be called—Horus."
The little thundercloud brightened instantly.
"Horus! My name is Horus! It sounds way better than that guy Zeus!" it cheered, sparks crackling across its surface as it zipped around excitedly.
"Come back, idiot," Pandora muttered, rubbing his temples. "You need to learn how to act around the master."
To Pandora, a Homies should appear cute, docile, and cuddly—a good pillow for its master to hug.
---
Meanwhile, across the Red Line, on the Holy Land of Mary Geoise, a small island in the New World served as the first stop for nobles, marines, and officials traveling beyond the Grand Line.
A man wearing a Marine coat emblazoned with the word Justice stood at the shore, watching as a warship approached. He boarded calmly.
"Let's move. We're intercepting the giant pirate ship," he ordered.
At once, the marines sprang into action.
The man standing at the bow was none other than Admiral Kong. His sharp gaze cut across the waves.
"Hmph… If that boy still has a trace of kindness, he should've joined the Marines. Otherwise…"
He didn't finish. His expression hardened.
News of Tsuru's encounter with Roy had already reached Marineford. She'd failed to win him over, failed to defeat him, and failed to purify his mind.
To the higher-ups, this was their final chance. Their patience had run dry.
Under the World Government's direct order, Kong himself was dispatched—to intercept the giant pirates and capture both Roy and the girl beside him.
"Kill the pirates. Bring those two children back alive," he commanded coldly.
Kong's sense of justice was absolute. To him, pirates were evil incarnate. And as for Toki—he already considered her a convenient bonus, a bargaining chip to control Roy's will.
But before long, his mission ran into an unexpected obstacle.
---
Charlotte Linlin, determined to change, had decided to seek out doctors. Her destination was the Drum Kingdom, hoping to cure her ravenous hunger once and for all.
However, before her ship could reach the halfway point of the Grand Line, she encountered Kong himself.
"…."
Kong's eyes widened in disbelief. Charlotte Linlin, captain of the Big Mom Pirates, bounty—500 million Berries?
Was this divine intervention? Before even finding Roy, fate had delivered his "sister" right into his hands.
"A pirate and a lead in one stroke," he muttered darkly. "A perfect catch."
He stepped forward, muscles tensing. "Charlotte Linlin! Captain of the Big Mom Pirates! Your pirate career ends here! I, Admiral Kong, will capture you myself!"
He lunged forward, his fists wrapped in Armament Haki, the Justice cloak snapping in the wind.
"Get lost, you ugly old man!" Linlin shouted, swinging her own fist. She couldn't afford to be caught now—she still needed to cure her hunger and reunite with Roy.
Their fists collided with a deafening crash.
The shockwave split the sea. Linlin staggered backward, her eyes wide in disbelief.
"This… hurts," Kong muttered, flexing his arm as pain throbbed up to his shoulder. "What kind of monster is this girl…"
