Chapter 64: Shocked! Big Mom is Going to Work Hard!!!

Streusen— the man who first led Charlotte Linlin down the path of piracy.

A founder of the Big Mom Pirates, and perhaps the only pirate truly short in stature...

Though known as a chef, he possessed surprising talents: musical skill, leadership, strategy, and even decent swordsmanship.

A versatile man, he believed that the era of Charlotte Linlin and Harold Roy had finally begun.

In his mind, the future was dazzling — riches, glory, and a comfortable old age that would last beyond ninety years.

And if Linlin turned out beautiful when she grew up... well, he might just "enjoy" that too.

The thought alone made him grin like a fool.

Unfortunately for him, Roy didn't like him at all. Linlin's blind loyalty to Streusen made Roy certain that this man had to die.

"Ahem… Linlin, why… why are you doing this to me?" Streusen stammered, trembling violently. Paralyzed by Zeus's lightning, he looked at the two figures before him in disbelief.

Wasn't this supposed to be the day of their great alliance?

Why did it feel like his funeral instead!?

Just minutes ago, he had been fantasizing about a bright future. But Zeus, smiling like a mischievous child, had struck him with a bolt of electricity and delivered his limp body to Linlin — whose expression now brimmed with murderous rage.

"Streusen," Linlin said coldly, her tone like thunder. "Tell me — did you kill mother?"

"What nonsense are you— the nun is…" He began to defend himself, but froze mid-sentence.

No, he couldn't say it.

The truth was far too cruel — and if Linlin heard it, she would go mad and kill him on the spot.

"Where did you hide her body?" Linlin demanded, her voice trembling with fury.

Streusen's heart raced. This girl… she's starting to suspect me?

The truth could never be spoken: Linlin herself had killed the nun during her hunger rampage.

But telling her that? That was suicide. She'd never believe him.

"It wasn't me! It was…" Streusen's words faltered. His mind scrambled for a scapegoat. The Navy? No, they came later… Who can I blame?

"Who was it!?" Linlin roared, her Conqueror's Haki crackling faintly in the air.

Panicking, Streusen turned desperately to Roy. "You… you know the truth, don't you?"

Roy's gaze was cold and silent. He didn't move, didn't speak.

Go to hell, he thought. No one here will believe you. You're already an outsider.

Linlin followed Streusen's frightened eyes and looked at Roy.

Impossible. Her brother — her beloved brother would never hurt mother.

"Liar!" she screamed. "How dare you slander Brother Roy — go to hell!"

Her fist came crashing down before Streusen could utter another word. The blow shattered the deck beneath him.

He died instantly, not even a scream escaped his lips.

A pitiful, undeserved death.

Linlin stared at the lifeless body, panting heavily, only to realize she'd killed him before confirming whether he was truly guilty.

"Uh… it's fine! I've got it figured out!" she said quickly, forcing a smile. "If we defeat the World Government, we'll know if they're guilty. And if they're not… then it must've been Streusen!"

Roy rubbed his temple. "You're… very smart, Linlin."

Revenge by elimination, that was her logic.

"Have you thought about what you'll do next?" he asked.

"Go back to Cake Island," Linlin said, brightening. "Oh, I mean the old island — I rebuilt it! That's our base now. Come back with me! You'll be the planner, and I'll use my strength. Isn't that perfect?"

Roy sighed. "Linlin, let me put it this way…"

He explained everything patiently.

The children at the Sheep's House were terrified of her — they would never return. The giants of Elbaf despised her; she could never set foot there again. Even the village elders no longer wished for Roy to associate with her.

Linlin fell silent, her face dimming. "Then Brother Roy should stay in Elbaf. Linlin understands. We can still talk through the Den Den Mushi, right?"

Despite her disappointment, she smiled weakly. As long as he still cared, that was enough.

Roy nodded. Elbaf was only a giant village, but someday, it would be ruled by Loki. And for a woman, Loki would one day form an alliance with Linlin's Totto Land — only for that same love to destroy it later.

What a foolish heir, Roy thought.

Still, Linlin's nation could serve as his greatest deterrent — a power influenced by him, yet distant enough to let him live freely.

"Linlin, we will come find you later," Roy said.

"We?" Linlin tilted her head. "You mean that woman?"

Roy smiled. "Yes. She is my wife, Toki."

Linlin blinked. "Your wife? Right now?"

"Right now," Roy said.

Linlin pouted, thinking hard. "Then… will you take Linlin as your girlfriend instead?"

Roy almost choked. "Linlin, I am afraid not."

"Why?"

"Your food cravings, for one. And I have my own standards. Also, I am leaving soon for a long journey. I will not be back for years."

Linlin lowered her gaze, then muttered, "Control the cravings. Become prettier. Work harder."

"I'll fix it," she muttered. "If I can stop my cravings and become beautiful when I grow up… then Brother Roy will like me, right?"

She tore a piece of paper from her pocket and handed it to him. "Here. My Den Den Mushi number. Call me anytime."

Then, without another word, she turned and walked back toward her ship.

Roy watched her go in silence.

Behind her, Charlotte Linlin's thoughts burned with resolve.

I'll stop my hunger. I'll grow beautiful. I'll make him proud. Even if it's hard, I'll do it. I won't lose my only family again.

On that day, the girl who would one day become Big Mom… decided to start working hard.
