Cell angrily looked at the Z Warriors blocking him. "Get out of my way, you bunch of ants!"
As he roared, his fury exploded outward, sending all the Z Warriors flying.
Only Piccolo and Vegeta managed to remain somewhat steady; the others were less fortunate.
Cell's eyes narrowed at the sight of the escaped No. 18.
It was thanks to those annoying fighters that she had gotten away—and it was No. 16 who had carried her off.
If they had delayed any longer, no one knew where 18 might have fled.
Cell didn't intend to waste more time on them. He surged in the direction where 16 and 18 had gone.
Krillin struggled to his feet. "Oh no… Cell's chasing No. 18!"
"No use chasing him. We can't match Cell's strength, and if he catches 18, it's over. All we can do is hope she stays out of his reach," Piccolo said bluntly, the truth clear in his voice.
Vegeta clenched his fists, scowling. "Damn it! I'm a Super Saiyan, yet I keep being surpassed!"
His self-esteem had taken a serious blow.
Tien Shinhan rubbed his injured arm. "It seems we have to rely on Goku. There's no way we can handle Cell alone."
"I agree," Yamcha said grimly. "Against this kind of opponent, we're just cannon fodder."
Son Gohan whispered, "Dad…"
His hope was pinned on Goku, though he didn't know what his father was doing at the moment.
At that instant, Piccolo's eyes hardened. He had made a decision—one that would change everything.
He didn't want to rely solely on Goku, and he had no other choice.
Piccolo looked toward the Heavenly Temple. "Don't touch Cell. I'll handle him myself."
Vegeta scoffed. "What? You think you can defeat Cell? Stop joking—you're not even close to my level."
Ignoring Vegeta, Piccolo shot off toward the Heavenly Temple.
Gohan was about to follow, but Piccolo's firm voice stopped him. He stayed put.
Krillin watched Piccolo's direction and gasped. "Tien, Piccolo is heading to the Temple of the Kami!"
"The… Temple of the Kami?"
Tien, Krillin, and Yamcha exchanged bewildered looks. None understood Piccolo's plan.
Krillin suddenly realized. "I get it! Piccolo wants to merge with the Kami. That's how he'll gain the power to fight Cell!"
Vegeta frowned. "Merge with… the Kami? What does that even mean?"
Krillin explained, "Originally, Piccolo and the Kami were one. But for some reason, they split apart. Now Piccolo plans to reunite with the Kami, gaining greater power to defeat Cell."
Vegeta muttered under his breath, "If Piccolo surpasses a Super Saiyan after merging… how can I accept that?"
Being the Saiyan Prince, now a Super Saiyan, and still not the strongest in the universe—it gnawed at Vegeta's pride.
Meanwhile, at the Temple of the Kami, the Kami stood silently, gazing across the boundless sky.
"Is the moment finally here?" he asked calmly.
Popo, standing nearby, spoke nervously. "Kami…"
"Don't worry, Popo," the Kami said gently. "I've lived long enough. It's time to make a meaningful contribution to Earth."
Soon, Piccolo arrived. "Kami… you know why I'm here."
"I know. The time has come for us to be reunited as one," the Kami replied calmly.
"I will take the lead in the fusion," Piccolo declared.
"Agreed," the Kami said. "Your strength is greater—take the lead."
Piccolo approached, placed his palm on the Kami, and said, "Then let's begin!"
The Kami transformed into pure energy, merging with Piccolo's body.
Popo couldn't hold back tears as he watched the Kami disappear into Piccolo.
When the fusion completed, Piccolo's power exploded outward, his energy multiplying several times over.
This was no longer the Piccolo they knew.
He had become a completely new being—a fusion of Namekian and Kami, far beyond the limits of his previous self.
The Piccolo of today was no longer the Piccolo of the past—he was truly reborn.
