Chapter 11 - EDEN7

Evelyn wasn't someone who believed fantastical, impossible or illogical events could ever happen in the real world.

She preferred things that could be explained by science and didn't spend much time thinking about those that couldn't.

But she did enjoy consuming fantastical and impossible stories. Whenever she managed to sit down in front of her computer or TV —or even just pick up her phone— she watched fantasy and romance dramas, and read supernatural themes and action novels.

Although she was used to fantastical stories and unusual scenarios, she couldn't get used to the situation she was currently in.

Today marked the third day since she had transmigrated into her sister's reverse harem dating simulator game.

The doctors had run countless tests on her over the past three days and had finally decided she could be discharged from the hospital today.

Many unfamiliar people had come in and out of her hospital room to wish her a speedy recovery. But Evelyn was too overwhelmed by strange emotions to focus on any of them.

Sometimes, while looking at the people offering her well-wishes, she would catch herself thinking,

"So… is this person an NPC?"

She was standing at the hospital's entrance, holding a bag that contained her clothes — the nurses had told her these clothes belonged to her.

Ash and Julian were supposed to pick her up by car, and from there, they would head to the house they all lived in.

Even though Evelyn had no idea where she was staying, she wasn't in a position to object, so she hadn't protested.

According to what her sister had told her, the main character in this game lived in the same house with the six men because they were in the same music group.

She remembered the time she told her sister that it was a pretty strange concept. If the company wanted them to bond just because they were in the same group, they could've come up with another method for that, after all.

When she asked, "What the hell? She's supposed to live alone with six men?" her sister's only answer had been, "That's what the players want."

When the wind hit her face and made her long black hair ripple, she lifted her eyes to the sky. The moment she looked up at the blue sky, she had to squint her eyes because of the sunlight.

By asking the nurses yesterday, she had learned that it was currently November of 2025. The winds were strong, but it didn't look like it would rain or snow anytime soon.

Everything about this world felt real. The wind rippling through her hair, the soft warmth of the slightly sour sun on her skin, the people passing by, and the young men in the music group she shared with her sister...

All of it felt completely real.

And so, Evelyn didn't really want to think about how she was supposedly in a fictional world right now. She had decided to just go with the flow.

Still, there was one problem she couldn't get out of her head.

When she had asked about her sister, Angelo had told her that her sister was dead… She didn't remember Adelyn ever mentioning anything like that.

In fact, she had said she added a few parts implying that the main character's family —though their faces weren't shown since they were NPCs— were good people. As far as she remembered, the main character didn't even have a sister.

"That's weird…" she murmured.

With a sigh, she took her phone out of her pocket and began scrolling through her contacts.

There were more people in her contacts than she could count, yet she only recognized six young men. What surprised her wasn't the sheer number of contacts, but the fact that the main character had saved six young men's contacts with both their first and last names.

From what she learned from the members, the main character had debuted in a group called EDEN7 under one of the biggest music companies in the country, after three years of training.

She already knew this part from what her sister had told her. But before "Evelyn" —the main character— fell into a coma, it had only been a month since EDEN7's debut.

According to the twins, including their trainee period, they had known each other for about a year.

So she had assumed they would at least be a little closer by now. It was strange that the main character had saved their names so formally and had no photos with any of them in her gallery.

According to her sister's plan, the main character was supposed to grow close to these six men in a short time, helped by the fact that they all lived in the same house.

And although they had all been very attentive to Evelyn ever since she woke up from the coma, it felt as if Evelyn —the "main character"— didn't have any genuine relationship with them at all.

Evelyn hesitated when she saw Ash's name in her contacts. She knew they were supposed to come pick her up, but they were running late.

It was getting dark, and she was starting to feel a little uneasy. After all, she was alone in this world, and they were the only people she knew.

Still, she decided not to call and slipped her phone back into her pocket.

While she was watching the cars passing by, she felt someone behind her and turned around.

A young girl was looking at her with a tense smile on her face. Evelyn raised a single eyebrow.

The girl's hands, which were holding her phone, were trembling. A few seconds later, she asked in a soft voice.

"May I take a picture with you?"

Although Evelyn was startled at first, she quickly understood the situation.

Ah, she must be one of the main character's fans.

After Evelyn nodded in approval, she watched the girl rush over to her in excitement and smiled.

She struck a simple pose and smiled at the camera, then they took a few more photos together.

Just as she was about to say goodbye, she suddenly froze as blinding lights flashed in front of her.

"Take the photo now! Start recording!"

In an instant, she was surrounded by reporters, some already firing off dozens of shots.

Evelyn had to shut her eyes against the camera flashes, raising a hand to shield her vision so she could see what was happening.

"Your company explained your three-month absence by saying you had 'family issues.' But according to the information we received, you've actually been in a coma for three months."
