~Country V, in her bedroom~
Serena woke up to the sound of her alarm clock ringing through her room, she reached for it and turned it off, she tried getting up but was forced back down by her headache as she tossed and turned in bed.
She looked up with her eyes hazy with sleep, and was greeted with the familiar interior of her room "How did I end up here." She said to herself, all she could remember was her having a bad day at work and the trauma she had been going through lately. She had wanted a time by herself, a time to meditate and get herself back together.
That was why she had gone to the bar y-yes… WAIT! What da hell, she actually went to a bar, she said to herself. It had taken her a lot of convincing on her part to make her go there, she heard of the place from her bestfriend and decided to try it out yesterday.
Serena had never gone to a bar before, never been to the bar, never been to the club, and never been to a friend night party or whatsoever.
"You are crazy, Renie." A soft whisper told her in her head as everything that was once a puzzle began to form itself in her head, she had gone to a bar and not only that she had given her first kiss to a total stranger. She facepalmed herself what was I thinking? she had finally done the most daring thing she had ever done in her whole life and had gotten rejected plainly.
Serena has always been the perfect daughter, the perfect granddaughter, the perfect friend and the perfect everything. She was kind to a fault, humble and well behaved, she is that kid every parent uses as an example to their children. Serena has never been in a relationship, she was known all through college has Miss Goody two shoes because of her bad reputation with boys, some even called her a lesbian but she never cared as long as it keeps the boys away from her. "So, why did she kissed a stranger and in a bar at that." The answer was simple as she had a plan all along,
"Go to a high class bar, pick any random guy for a one night stand and get laid, no commitment, and no string attach just a night with fun." That was her plan. So, why was she feeling this amount of pain from the rejection? She could not say but it hurts so much.
When Serena parents died she made a vow to herself that she would never fall in love with anybody neither would she let herself be in any kind of relationship ever, Her mother died when she was just 10years old from cancer of the heart, her father could not take the pain of losing his wife and eventually followed her 3years after. It was a very traumatizing moments of her life, forcing her to live with her maternal grandparents. Since then she made a vow to herself that she would not fall in love neither will she let someone fall in love with her.
After Five years of her mother death, the doctor called her grandparents to inform them that they should come for her checkup that it is likely for her to have cancer too, the same one her mother had, since then her vow changed and she had been looking for the perfect someone that will do the deed with her, and yesterday she had seen him but Serena groaned painfully as the event with the strange man played vividly in her head again, why does it feel like a part of her has been forcefully ripped out.
"Argghh…" Serena groaned as she tossed and turned in her bed with her blanket wrapped tightly around her.
Just then her cellphone beeped waking her up from her thoughts, Serena checked her phone, it was a text message from her best friend,
"Rena, why have you not been picking up your phone?" the text read "do you know how worried I have been?" "When I finally see you I'm gonna spank your ass."
Serena giggled as she quickly reply to the text message "I'm fine Kathy, I went to the bar yesterday." Another text followed immediately she sent her message "YOU DID WHAT!"
"No need to answer that I'm coming over right now." Serena could not stop herself from smiling. That was Kathy, her best friend till now she could not fathom how she became friends with her.
Kathy was the direct opposite of her, she was rich, she came from an extremely wealthy family, her family wealth could not possibly be measured with words, she has such high iq and was very fashionable,Serena met her in college and since then they have been best of best of friends.
If anything Kathy was the one that formed the friendship with her and they've been inseparable since then.
"Enough with the past." She said to herself, the pain that she had been having subsided a little as she finally went to the bathroom to shower, luckily for her today was a Saturday,which means she was not going to work but she would be going to a Children's Shelter where she volunteers to help with the kids there.
She came out of the bathroom wore her clothes and went downstairs to greet her grandparents and help them with breakfast, as soon as she was done with her breakfast she went back to her room after doing the dishes, she laid down on her bed.
Her mind could not help wandering back to the strange man. "Who was he and why was she so drawn to him?"
Seren has never had a boyfriend and with the way her life was going she was not planning to have one at all with all the traumas she experienced from her parents past relationship.
So, why was she having second thoughts?
Just then she heard footsteps coming directly to her room she could already guess that it was Kathy,
Before her bedroom door was yanked open with a loud screeching sound to reveal a very angry Kathy, Serena turned with a smile "Oh Kathy, how have you been?" She said as she reach to embrace her but Kathy swiftly maneuvered her, with her hands placed on her hips.
