Serena quickly stood up from her seat as she went over to the vice chairman's office, the office was at the second to the last floor on the top of the company building, and it was only when you have an appointment that you can go there or see the vice chairman.
She got on the elevator on her way to the office, she stopped by the secretary office as she informed her of her appointment with the Vice Chairman.
The secretary reached out to the vice chairman using the intercom,
"Sir, Miss Serena will like to see you for her scheduled appointment with you, May I send her in sir?" There was a slight paused before she turned to Serena,
"You may enter."
Serena walk to the office as she pushed the door open.
"Good afternoon sir."The man was busy with his file before he turned to look at her.
"Do have your seat" he said as he made a gesture towards a chair.
His office was large, imposing desk(mahogany polished wood) with high- black leather chair, ergonomic and executive style, the visitor chairs were sleek and modern,they looked extremely comfortable with a sleek glass walls,
Luxurious carpet, and art pieces were on full display along with a shelf that held company awards on display, Serena looked around the office impressed before she face the man that was still busy with his file.
He appeared to be in his mid-40s she thought, he was tall, with salt and pepper hair that was neatly combed back, he was dressed in a sharp suit, and appeared to be confident and calculating, this was the very first time she was seeing him up close, Serena was suddenly overwhelmed with nervousness, "You're so damn outrageous Serena, you were not scared when you offer yourself to a strange man you just met but now you are suddenly scared now that you face your boss that you have been working with all this while." Serena mumbled to herself, shaking her head, as if to dispel any feeling of fear, this is something she had been working on even before meeting Mr.Won she wanted by all means to get it done.
"You are originally from Team 2, is that correct?" The vice chairman broke her from her train of thought as she straightened up her posture and faced him.
"Yes sir."
He nodded his head, Serena saw him going through her proposal.
"Then why was your proposal submitted by the team 1 Managing Director?" Did you not submit to your Managing Director?"
"Ah I did submit to him sir, but he turned it down as he claims it is a waste of production time and effort."
There was a slight change in the man countenance as he finally lifted his head to look her over.
"Then, why did you go through so much trouble to submit this proposal, when it was already rejected?"
"Sir, I had been working on this proposal for the longest time, and I don't think it is a waste of resources and production as he had claimed, there are so many cases and people with cancer and disease all over the world, as they fight to survive cancer, many of them are left with loss of appetite, this is a way of properly engaging them with different healthy meals to further increase their means of survival," she paused as she let her words sink in.
"Our company producing this Meal-Kits, does not only serve as a means of making an income but it is a means to show them that we resonate with them and we see their plight, this will further help the company grow as one of the most thoughtful and generous company in the world.
And a wise saying says 'food is a symbolic of love when words are inadequate." she added courageously.
The Vice Chairman nod his head as he said to her "you said your Managing Director had turn this down."
"Yes sir, he did I was left with no option but to send this proposal to another team to submit as I thought it would promote the company and would be a waste to just dispose of it."
"What is your Managing Director's name?"
"Mr. Richard Patel sir."
"This is indeed an exceptional proposal, like you said it would be a waste to let it go." he paused,
" I want you to personally ask my secretary for anything you need for this project." he took his stamp and stamped on the project file "Approved."
"You can take your leave" he said as he handed her over the file, she quickly accepted it and bowed a little as she took her leave.
Before getting to her office she messaged Mrs. Olivia as she confirmed to her that the project had been approved, on her way back to her office Serena shouted a loud victorious "YES!" She did a short joyful dance before composing herself and getting back to her office desk.
After some time Mr. Richard was called by the Vice Chairman to come to his office immediately, she pretended to be busy with her work as he turned and looked at everyone, it seemed like he was shocked to get the call.
For some reason he came back after some time as he walked to his desk, his gaze fixed on Serena as he glared at her.
"It seems like he had been seriously reprimanded " Serena thought.
She knew she could not expect more as he was a brother to one of the shareholders of the company, she knows he would not face serious implications but she was still glad that she got her approval on her project.
The project was the main reason she decided to work as a staff in a food company despite Kathy efforts in persuading her to come work at her father's company, she wanted by all means to create this "Meal-Kits" as she thought it was the least she could do for Abi and other patients around the world that was facing similar case as Abi, and also for cancer patients as that has been her dream since the death of her mother.
During closing hours it was later discovered that Mr. Richard had been suspended for 2 weeks for Neglecting Company projects and Mrs. Olivia was to be promoted as the Acting Managing Director as from tomorrow.
Serena was surprised, she did not expect it to get that far she only wanted him to be reprimanded into doing his duties the way he ought to, but either way she did not feel sorry for him because he was a awful person and he also had bad reputation with everybody in their team department.
She looked around as she saw her other team members rejoicing on hearing the news, she could not deny the fact that she was also happy mentally.
She got home on a good note that day as she danced around her room, she took her bathe as she brought her phone to check her text messages, she got one text from Kathy reminding her to come for her dress fitting tomorrow,she had completely forgotten about the event.

On Wednesday morning the next day she went inside her company, she head straight to the elevator after she was scanned by the biometric scanner, she got inside the elevator as she greeted everybody there cheerfully.
She went inside her office, before she started preparing for her project, she was the project head so she had to appoint staff members that would join her in the project.
"Mrs. Olivia, I am appointing you as the second head of the Meal-Kits project." Serena appointed.
She turned over to two other team members as she also appointed them
They were so excited to have been assigned to the project as they thanked Serena, the air in the office felt so light and airy as everybody was happy.
"Now that I've appointed you guys,let's head to the meeting room for our first meeting." Serena instructed them,
Everyone that she called stood up as they made their way to the meeting room.
"first thing first, as this is a Meal-Kits for both children and adults, I want you all to gather reputable chefs if possible celebrity chefs you know and submit their names first thing tomorrow morning so we can decide on a chef tomorrow." Serena explained " I also need you all to start the preparation now, as we still have to contact some doctors for more info before we can start producing the Meal-Kits."
"Lastly, before we go, I will be taking off on Friday.so, I'm personally appointing Mrs. Olivia as the direct head on that day.that brings us to the end of this meeting."
" I hope we all do a good job." Serena said as she closed the meeting and close her file before standing up from her seat.
She was in a hurry as she still had to check out her dress today she thought as she made her way to her office desk.
She finished her things at the office very early as she got on her car to go home she glanced at her wrist watch "14:12pm" she still had time she thought.
When she got home she took her shower as she dressed up in her casual wear, she wore a blue denim jeans trouser and paired it with a yellow top, she tied her hair in a messy bun.
"I'm good to go"she got on her car and hurriedly drove to Kathy's studio.
