Serena entered Kathy's apartment feeling contented with herself and everything that happened at the art gallery.
She made her way upstairs trying by all means to avoid Kathy killer glare, Kathy had been trying to make her see reason as to what she was getting herself into through out their trip back from the art exhibition, Serena finally turned to face her.
"Kathy, honestly I know what I'm doing, you don't have to be so worried okay?"
"What do you mean you know what you are doing? We are talking about marriage Renie, you can't just jump into that kind of a decision on an impulse." Kathy said, exasperated as she tried to reason with Serena, something she had been doing for the past hours but has failed miserably.
"This man is the one for me, I can feel it in my bone," Serena sighed, "I know you don't believe in this kind of a thing but just have fate in me, I would not risk myself like this for nothing you know that."
Serena looked at Kathy in her eyes as she tried to make her see her reason, she wanted Kathy to have some fate in her.
Kathy took a deep breath trying by all means to calm herself from the rage she was feeling inwardly, "what about your grandparents, did you try talking to them before you made this ridiculous decision?"
"It is not ridiculous okay, and he said he would come ask my grandparents for my hand in marriage two days from now." Serena uttered, feeling so happy.
"And you honestly believe that, someone you just met a few days ago," Kathy sighed, "I want to be happy for you Renie, but I just feel like you are making a rash decision." Kathy could not understand the mad obsession Serena had for this man, the Serena she knows would never act like this, even when the news came that she was likely to have cancer, Serena took it in boldly but when it came to this man, she acted impestous. It was almost like she was under a spell, Kathy could not shake of that feeling, maybe she is truly under a spell, Kathy thought.
"You know what, I support your decision as long as you are happy, I'm also happy for you." Kathy tried to sound happy and collected but she was fuming on the inside.
"Why don't you relax as you had a long day, let me head outside. I'm suddenly in need of a nice fresh air." Kathy went downstairs, and went down to Milo's house. What a nice day to take a stroll and calm down, she said to herself as she made her way to her dog house.
She brought Milo out and together they went on a stroll, she tried to convince Serena against the marriage but since she was hell-bent on getting married to a stranger there was nothing she could do to stop her. The Serena she knew– once she set her mind on something, nothing and no one could ever stop her, and since that was what she wanted she just had to support her. Kathy was lost in her thoughts when she spotted a black maybach car parked in the corner of her apartment, she looked at the car closely.
This was her very first time seeing this kind of a car in her neighborhood, she was very familiar with all the cars around her, and this one was quite expensive that even she could not afford it. Who the hell has this kind of a car in this neighborhood, she thought.
Kathy walked closer to the car as she observed the tinted windows, she tried to see if she could make out the person inside the car but she could not see through the window because of the tinted glass.
She knocked on the car window and waited for the other person to wind down the window and reveal their face, she waited for some time before the other person finally opened the window, she saw a feature but could not make out the person's face, Kathy squinted her eyes before she saw his face properly, she gasp, surprised.
"You… what are you doing here?" Kathy stuttered in surprise.
