I don't know why i was reacting as such to her, maybe she was really connected somehow to the woman in my dreams and i didn't feel bad for complying to her wishes in the slightest, in fact there was only gains for me doing so, no losses at all .
Our teacher Tanaka was now talking about a heavy topic, one that i found myself leering to know more about, it was the topic related to why i attended this school in the very first place, the subject he was talking about was related to the powers we had in our past lives and most likely in this one too, he was saying :
Universally known as the Ancestral Arts those are the miraculous powers that everyone used in their previous life .
In this life, you should ultimately be able to wield it easily and effortlessly after recalling them from your memories .
Maybe you will have some doubts on that since some of you might not able to manifest anything currently at will, doubts like maybe you do not have the ability, or not able to know how to control your powers, but there was no any need to worry, just by being accepted in the academy already mean that you all have tremendous potential, me and the other teachers will patiently teach you all how to access and make best use of your talents .
The first year concentrates on getting the basic down firmly, the lessons may be
repetitive and boring, but I hope that everyone will put forth their best efforts .
And always remember that no matter how long it took, your guys hard work will always pay off, but be calm and patient and do your best to absorb the knowledge we try to impart into you, then we promise you great results .
Ancestral Arts, that was another new term that i have no idea about, but i involuntarily began to recall the scene that came to play in front of me back at the hospital, the one which i was standing in a pool of blood alone surrounding by nothingness .
I also looked at my hands, wondering what kind of Ancestral Arts will i able to use, the atmosphere in the room was filled with excitement, everyone was looking expectantly at their hands, all probably thinking about the same thing as me .
With those teachers help, will i be able to control that weird power of mine, i was looking forward to know more about the Ancestral Arts he mentioned, but unfortunately the teacher continued to talk about something else .
The teacher smiled at this and fixed his glasses and continued to say :
Even so, when everyone become independent, you will be solicited to enter the White Knight Order as
an official member, and help to battle the Metaphysical .
I didn't know much about the white knight order other than it being the order who surveil all the active saviors around the globe, that Man was an A Rank savior in the order, one of the many elites in that organization and as the teacher said, we were to some extent bound to join the order at some point of time, fighting and fending off against those Metaphysical .
My heart was calm at the mention of needing to fight the Metaphysical, thanks to the fact that i have already encountered one previously and even managed to completely obliterate it, even though i didn't remember much of how was i able to, but that didn't change the fact that i was able to kill it, so i didn't feel much at this .
But my classmates reaction was a complete contrast to mine, the moment the teacher words fell, a student unable to hold back his curiosity raised his hand and directly asked the teacher if those Metaphysicals actually existed, saying that he had seen a lot of rumors circling on the internet about them, but also not a few people denying their existence entirely, the male student said that they were given a vague explanation before entering the school and was told that more information will be given at the school and asked the teacher to clear the confusion .
His sudden question was then followed by a large number of comments and remarks from the other students, declaring some of those few rumors they heard, the noise they were beginning to create was so loud that it even woke up the unconscious Gin, who stood up from his seat suddenly and looked around as if searching for something or someone and he had found it .
He looked at me and glared, i was beginning to see a red energy began to appear around his skin, but he was stopped by the loud voice of Tanaka-sensei asking him to set down, he scoffed in my direction and sat back down .
This sudden event forced the students to stop chattering, then the teacher looked at the male student who asked the question before and nodded his head, then began to explain, saying :
Yes, about that, those kinds of information are considered classified as decided by the United Nations during secret meetings between the representatives of each branch of the order .
Since this includes not letting the general public becoming aware of the existence of
Saviors like all of you, of course the Metaphysical information is not widely known .
Although rumors or word-of-mouth from victims cannot be totally prevented, related information is never shown on the mass media, naturally, as people connected to Akane Academy, we are also banned
from leaking relevant information to outsiders .
Another female student raised her hands and asked if the teacher can share his relevant information about this subject was them, the teacher once again nodded and pushed a button on the desk in front of him .
Amidst the surprised cries of most of the students, the blackboard at the front of the classroom split in half straight down the middle, whirling on mechanical rails, the split parts slide to the left and the right, revealing the giant LCD screen hidden within the walls .
I was amazed at this transformation and so were the others as well, but the joyful scene didn't continued for long as we came to witness something that left all of us in a complete shock .
So then, although this is only a short video, let's all have a look, Tanaka-sensei said then started the display .
" A view of the ocean filled the screen, loud whirling sound, it seems the video was taken on board a helicopter from a rather high altitude, normally that will mean that the video was taken from high altitude and won't be easily to watch the details in it clearly, but this wasn't the case here .
No one needed to ask the teacher to even zoom in a little, because one look was all what everyone needed to know how dangerous the scene was .
A massive mega-tonnage cargo ship lied capsized on its side and entangled by a monster .
This meant that the monster was more massive than the giant ship, and is so strong that it can flip the cargo ship to one
side .
A quick description of the monster would be that of a headless squid or octopus, else a starfish with dozens of limbs .
A massive maw in the middle of the body with many bloody teeth gashing together .
Those massive limbs or tentacles are undulating constantly and wrapping around the cargo vessel .
The massive steel frames that were strongly designed to withstand oceanic storms were now creaking in distress, and apparently on the verge of collapse " .
The view was so disgusting it made one want to throw up, though everyone in class is staring fixedly at the screen .
It may have been a bit too much for some of the students, as i noted that some were holding their handkerchief to their
mouth, a good precaution in my opinion .
The only thing that i was thinkingafterseeing that huge monster was whether was i able to beat that monster in the same way i did with the other one i had encountered before, i was becoming doubtful, previously i thought that i was more than eligible to deal with those monsters, after making some preparation and talking a lot of things in consideration, but will there any kind of preparation that will allow me to contend against such a behemoth like creature .
All my confidence and relaxed attitude due to dealing with that monster before vanished after seeing that Metaphysical, the teacher seeing that the time was ripe to drop another bomb on all of us, said :
In all the Metaphysical that appeared in our country, that sea monster was the biggest ever recorded, it was categorized to be a Dreadnought Class Metaphysical .
"During that battle, over a hundred Saviors were deployed, led by one of the Six Heads, the White Knight Order Japan Branch Head, Suruga Andou .
The teacher voice was then suddenly cut off, no the entire time seemed to be frozen at the mention of Japan Branch Head name, i felt my heart tighten a bit at the mention of that name, but it was a fleeing feeling and it disappeared soon after and the teacher voice returned again, feeling something wrong but just can't accurately describe it, i put it on the list of the weird things happening and continued to listen to what the teacher was saying .
Even so, it was a life and death battle that
took more than 4 hours before the monster was destroyed .
Although up til now Metaphysical would
not appear frequently, but when one does appear, only us Saviors are capable of battling it .
I hope all
of you can engrave this into your heart .
How many people, excluding me that were actually paying attention to the teacher's words, at this point most of them were watching the screen with their mouth wide opened, too stunned at the scene on display .
In the replay dozens of Saviors with bloodthirsty faces rushed to battle the Dreadnought Class Metaphysical .
They were all like super-humans, wrapped in flaring auras and running on the water effortlessly, wielding various weapons skillfully .
Not only that, military helicopters were hovering in the airspace, carrying
many other Saviors using what appear to be magic, raining down lightning bolts like rain .
Was this the power of Saviors, that was probably the question on all of the students mind, including me as well, that video clip playing in front of them is too shocking for words .
Even so, in front of that Dreadnought Class Metaphysical, they all looked like ants fighting a lion .
Maybe everyone in class was imagining themselves to be one of those ants, wondering about he or she will fare in that kind of a situation .
The clip didn't continued to show how the fight ended, so we just had to took the teacher words for granted and sigh in relief that such a disaster had already been dealt with, afterthat clip, the screen continued to show various other clips of otherMetaphysicals.
Likea giant double headed snake breathing clouds of poison, a giant ape with 6 arms that emits fire
A Feline that can camouflage itself like a chameleon, while they were not as enormous as the cargo-ship
crushing sea monster, they were still dreadful monsters with high fighting abilities and special and supernatural skills.
When an imposing 4-eyed humanoid giant appeared, everyone in the classroom held their breath in shock, excluding me who was focused more on hearing what the teacher was saying :
Metaphysical suddenly appeared 6 years ago, where did they come from, What's their life-cycle, we were unable to provide an answer for these kinds of questions back then .
And even now we have no answers to those questions, what we do know is that they are drawn to assaulting populated areas, and that the only ones that can stand against them is us Saviors .
The entire video presentation took about 10 minutes, during that time, the class was silent as a tomb, the teacher realizing the solemnity in the classroom atmosphere released a bit of awkward smile and said :
Ah, my bad. I seemed to have frightened you all a little bit, Metaphysical may be strong andfearsome, but we have the advantage of numbers .
We have also developed many tactics involving swarming the enemy and supporting each other, slowly and carefully whittling away at the enemy no
matter how much time it takes .
In this manner, it's actually quite rare if someone dies in battle and this school is founded to train you sufficiently in those tactics .
As you are special, you are important
assets to the country We will not carelessly abandon any of you, so please do not worry .
He tried to handle the awkward atmosphere and march forward forcefully, but if those words may have been spoken before, they might had have some weight to them, but now, most of the guys in the classroom who were acting like main characters just now all had lost their liveliness, some of those guys have began to have pale complexion, due to fright, the guy who initiated this whole conversation was now slumbering into his chair and lowering his head in a depressing manner, the lively classroom 10 minutes ago was now as if the people in it had already lost their will to live, the depressing mode was beginning to affect the teacher as well .
Then a sudden bang on the desk beside me put a stop to all of this, the pink haired girl suddenly got up from her seat and banged on the desk as if to gain the attention of everyone, then with a conceited smile she began to say :
Born in XXX prefecture. Class number 29, My name is Ranjō Satsuki...…." .
The pink haired girl, now introducing herself as Satsuki said with shining eyes declared loudly and while everyone was stunned, she was doing her introduction .
"I will strive hard to be the 2nd most powerful no i will be the 3rd most powerful Savior in the school, so follow me all of you .
Satsuki started to twirl her side ponytail and posed proudly, her spirit was really commendable, her action intentionally or unintentionally easily swept away the gloomy atmosphere in the classroom and
apparently woke everyone out of their flunk .
She looked at me when she changed her intention from being second to being third most powerful Savior in the class, her expression was that of a a cute pet wanting to be praised as she looked at Haimura Moroha .
The intention behind her words might have been without any malice, but her words seemed to imply her declaration of contempt towards other, me understood that and Haimura understood that too but she was clueless to all of that .
A second before the angry faces began to spout angry words, the voice of the Tanaka-sensei sounded, saying as if finally finding a way to ease the tensed atmosphere, unaware that his sudden action brought a stop to a huge uproar that was about to happen, he said something that created even more stronger uproar :
It's not like there wasn't people among you who had an encounter with a Metaphysical and not only they were able to survive, but able to slay the Metaphysical as well, earning themselves a C Rank promotion the instant they were admissioned to the school, which was something unprecedented in the history of this school .
