—"Help! They're going to kill me... GAAAH!"—
The scream of agony and death that all the teachers and students heard over the broadcast resonated deeply, sending terror through everyone with a weak heart. Fear spread like wildfire, engulfing every classroom in the buildings of Fujimi Academy.
The silence that followed as the broadcast was cut off only heightened the dread in everyone's hearts. They feared that if they stayed in their seats—if they stayed inside their classrooms and didn't flee the school—they would suffer the same fate as the owner of that dying scream.
As panic took hold, teachers and students alike began thinking only of saving themselves. They rushed out of their rooms, causing a chaotic stampede in the hallways and staircases as they tried to reach the ground floor—only to encounter those who had already turned undead.
With the zombie outbreak spreading across the lower floors, another broadcast echoed through the campus in a voice everyone recognized.
—"Everyone! Don't panic and go back inside your classrooms!"—
---
—"All students and faculty! All students and faculty! There has been an incident on campus."—
A few moments earlier, when the broadcasts that caused all the fear and panic had first begun—
"Ekk~!"
A girlish scream, as if from a high school student, escaped Kyoko's lips as Nach suddenly lifted her over his right shoulder again, her soft rear pressing against his cheek.
"I said put me down, you perverted bastard! What do you think you're doing when the students are in danger!?"
Kyoko kept thrashing, trying to break free, but upon hearing Nach's response, her view of the rough-looking, handsome, large, perverted man—who was completely her type—began to shift. Her anger and lust gave way to an odd mix of admiration and… still lust.
"We're going to save as many as we can, Kyoko."
"It's Hayashi-sensei to you, pervert!" Kyoko snapped, trying to ignore her fluttering heart, unaware of the blush on her flustered face.
"What exactly is happening right now?" Imamura asked, his attention divided between the danger around them and the tempting sight of Kyoko's exposed cleavage beneath her torn blouse and erotic bra.
—"Faculty, please lead the students through emergency procedures and evacuation immediately!"—
"Then tell me, Hayashi-sensei," Nach said sharply, "where is that foolish broadcast coming from?"
It was idiotic of him to think that simply barricading the school's main entrance could stop the progress of the story—and perverted of him to ignore the zombie outbreak just so he could do it with Kyoko behind the school building.
Still, even Nach knew it was foolish to tell students to evacuate when the entire ground floor was already swarming with undead teachers and students.
—"Again, there... GAAAH!"—
—"Help me! Stop!... Agh, oh god!"—
Not that he blamed the one screaming and dying in the broadcast—nor the now-deceased author who'd written the story of Highschool of the Dead.
Thankfully, the source of the broadcast was on the ground floor, Nach thought as he followed Kyoko's directions toward the broadcasting room, running behind the school buildings.
—"Help! They're going to kill me... GAAAH!"—
By the time the broadcast ended, Nach—still carrying Kyoko over his shoulder—arrived with Imamura outside the broadcasting room.
Nach finally set Kyoko down, picked up two large rocks from the ground, and hurled one at the window, shattering it.
As written in the story, the undead were attracted to sound—almost like echolocation. The loud shattering noise drew the attention of the zombie inside the room. It rushed toward the broken window, leaping out in search of prey—only for its head to be crushed by a rock the moment it landed.
The sight of a fellow student—his uniform torn and bloodstained, his head smashed in—made Imamura collapse, trembling as he sat on the ground. His terrified gaze lingered on the corpse before slowly turning to his teacher, silently pleading for help rather than explanation.
"Hayashi-sensei…"
"Get your act together!" Kyoko shouted, trying to calm Imamura.
"And get inside already."
Nach grabbed Imamura by the back of his shirt and, with one powerful swing, hurled him through the window into the room.
—Thud!—
"Gaaah!"
The loud thump of Imamura hitting the floor was followed by a frightened scream as he spotted the body of the teacher who had made the earlier broadcast.
"Give me your hand, Hayashi-sensei!"
Kyoko reached out, and Nach quickly followed Imamura through the window, straddling the frame as he helped Kyoko climb in.
"Gaaah!"
Another frightened scream came from Imamura as the teacher's corpse twitched—as if coming back to life.
Before Kyoko could even name the now-undead teacher, Nach grabbed the corpse and flung it through the open doorway toward the other approaching undead, slamming the door shut behind it and bracing it with his weight.
"Hayashi-sensei!" he shouted, trusting Kyoko to understand what needed to be done.
Kyoko rushed to the broadcasting equipment even before the man—assumed to be her lover—called her name. She quickly turned on the system and broadcasted a new set of instructions to everyone still alive on campus.
—"Everyone! Don't panic and go back inside your classrooms!"—
—"Barricade the doors and windows, and wait for the authorities to arrive!"—
—"Don't go down to the ground floor or try to leave the school!"—
—"If you have nowhere else to hide, go to the rooftop and barricade the staircase!"—
