"What are you doing here?, where have you been?" Amelia said in a hushed tone as she entered the car,. through the driver's seat.
"I should ask you the same" Jake said. He winked at her and she beamed, Flushing. Her cheeks glowing red.
"I was on my way home" she whispered back, smiling.
"Ah, the way home...there are Ten routes to your house Amelia..You just happen to follow the one with the highest chañce of gang activity" he said, sarcastically and she went quiet.
"Maybe, i was looking for someone" she said quietly and he stared at her and then broke into a chuckle
"Were you looking for me?" He said between chuckles. Amelia went gloom
"No... it's not funny" she said, her voice breaking.
"Oh, how the tables turn" he said, sighing and stopped chuckling.
"You just went ghost on me, no letters no nothing "
"I could have sworn that you hated me and wanted nothing to do with me, what changed?"
"That's not the point, you could have been dead for all i know" her voice was now heightening, worry laced in her voice.
Jake saw this and knew he had to take her worries seriously and so he held her shoulders, to stop her rummage and restlessness.
"Shhh... calm down rainbow" he said, and she breathed hard, resting her shoulders and blinking repeatedly.
"You see, Rainbow i am alive." He took her hands and touched around his body...she felt his chest, his abdomen, his biceps , his warmth...he was thicker than usual... His firm stronger...tighter.
"Yes" she said, nodding. What she felt was enough proof of something that was super obvious by sight. He was alive and well.
The police siren came again, this time it was approaching...closer and closer...
"Go on drive" Jake said to an inattentive Amelia, who immediately regained back her senses and started the car driving it towards her home....
"I missed you rainbow"
"I know"
They were now sitting on her couch, at two opposite ends looking at each other intently.
"Ah.. always cocky" he said, smiling and she nodded in accordance.
"So tell me what have you been up to this past year?" She asked, shooting him a knowing glare.
"Oh, i have been here and there..." He cut himself off before he could utter anymore words and Amelia tensed up, intrigued. What was the gang leader hiding.
She scotted closer to him, covering a few inches in the distance between them.
"What's wrong?" She asked, smiling... worried.
"Nothing just withholding some vital information" he answered.
"Oh so you don't trust me?" She asked, trying to create an uncomfortable atmosphere, to make him yield and to spit out the answer.
"Not like that rainbow, i trust you but...." He stopped himself again and Amelia groaned in frustration.
She moved closer again,
"Don't you love me anymore..?" she said trying to gaslight the information out of him. She didn't know why, she just felt the need to know.
He chuckled, "Ah...." He said and made a leap closing off the space between them entirely and then he went closer to her, he was now very close to her.
"Do you love me... rainbow?"
