Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Your Katie is illegal!

Under Kawaki's gaze, Oddish's friendship increased from 30 to 40.

Seeing this, Kawaki smiled slightly. He reached out and stroked Oddish's small head, saying, "From now on, we are family. Let's live well here!"

Coming to this world alone, inheriting this Breeding House and the original owner's Bewear, it was impossible not to feel lonely.

But fortunately, from now on, he was not alone; he still had Pokémon.

Bewear, Oddish, and the Growlithe that was about to hatch...

These Pokémon were his family in this world.

As if sensing Kawaki's mood at the moment, Oddish looked up at him, blinked its small eyes, and then nodded repeatedly, saying, "Oddish!"

Kawaki left Oddish in the courtyard because, compared to indoors, Oddish preferred to live outdoors, where it was full of natural energy.

More importantly, Oddish is a nocturnal Pokémon; they walk non-stop at night, growing while bathing in the moonlight.

The courtyard was large enough for Oddish to move around.

Kawaki said goodbye to Oddish and turned to return to the Breeding House.

In the living room, Bewear had already cleaned the dishes and picked up the broom, beginning its daily cleaning work.

"So reliable!" Kawaki was filled with gratitude for Bewear. "Thank you for your hard work, Bewear!"

"Goo~" Bewear didn't feel tired at all. If it didn't do it, its little master would have to, and it didn't want its little master to be tired.

So, the best way was for it to complete all the housework!

That way, its little master could relax a bit!

"I'll go check on Growlithe's situation first," Kawaki said.

Bewear nodded: "Goo~"

Kawaki went up the stairs to the second floor; Growlithe's egg was currently placed in his bedroom.

A few days ago, when he went to Fallarbor Town, he bought many daily necessities.

Among them were Growlithe's dog bed and food for young Pokémon when they first hatch, such as moomoo milk.

Pokémon are different from ordinary creatures; their bodies are both strong and fragile.

Strong enough to breathe fire, spit water, and cause earthquakes, yet fragile enough to lose their lives from a fever or cold.

Especially newly hatched Pokémon, only with careful nurturing can they grow healthy and strong.

In the bedroom, the egg with fiery red patterns stood quietly in the hatching nest.

[Growlithe's Egg: A Pokémon egg that can hatch a Fire-type Pokémon, Growlithe.]

[Health Status: Healthy]

[Father: Arcanine (Elite-level strength)]

[Mother: Arcanine (Elite-level strength)]

[Hatching Progress: 29 / 30]

Kawaki stepped forward, held the egg in his arms, and said to it, "Growlithe, can you hear me? I'm Kawaki, and I'm looking forward to your birth."

This wasn't Kawaki talking to himself.

Because the Growlithe inside the egg had less than a day left until hatching, it had fully developed and could hear and even sense external conditions.

Sure enough, when Kawaki finished speaking, the temperature of the eggshell began to rise rapidly.

This was the Growlithe inside the egg responding to him!

Good, it seemed Growlithe was very healthy.

Kawaki grinned, his heart filled with anticipation.

And just then, he suddenly saw a surprising piece of information on Growlithe's eggshell.

[Currently, prenatal education can be conducted in advance. Teaching moves to Pokémon still in the egg can allow them to learn moves they wouldn't normally learn during regular growth.]

[Currently, the number of moves Growlithe can be taught prenatally is: 5. The number of prenatal moves is related to the Pokémon's talent, energy affinity, and comprehension. The higher these three are, the more moves can be taught prenatally; conversely, the lower they are.]

[Currently teachable moves: Baby-Doll Eyes, Tackle, Sleep Powder.]

[Proceed with prenatal education?]

Kawaki: "?"

A question mark couldn't help but appear above his head.

Wait! Is this reasonable?

These words meant... the move gifts he had received from Bewear and Oddish before could also be used on Pokémon that hadn't hatched from their eggs yet?

And they could even break through limitations, allowing Pokémon to learn moves they originally couldn't?

Baby-Doll Eyes Growlithe.

Sleep Powder Growlithe.

This, this, this, this, this... This isn't legal, is it?!

Kawaki thought this while performing prenatal education on the Growlithe in the egg, unhesitatingly teaching it Baby-Doll Eyes, Sleep Powder, and Tackle.

As if he would lose out if he waited even a second.

Just kidding, who knew if Growlithe would Shell Smash out the next second? If he didn't give it prenatal education then, it would be too late to regret.

Because once Growlithe hatched, these moves could no longer be taught to it.

In the living room.

Bewear finished cleaning and then checked if the Breeding House doors were closed properly.

Only after all the work was done did it put down the broom, look around, and gaze at the Refresh Breeding House.

In the courtyard, Oddish happily walked back and forth, bathing in the moonlight.

In the bedroom on the second floor, the little master was looking at the Pokémon in the egg with anticipation.

How nice! The Breeding House was becoming more and more lively!

Bewear stood outside the door, watching the scene. Thinking of the little master's changes over the past few days and the increasingly better and livelier Breeding House, its heart was filled with both relief and happiness, yet also a little sadness.

Bewear felt a sour feeling in its heart.

It quietly turned and left, went downstairs to the backyard, sat on a large rock, and looked up at the moon in the sky.

A long, long time ago, its Trainer, the little master's father, also ran this Breeding House with them in this manner.

At that time, he often sat on this large rock, admiring the beautiful night sky above while introducing them to the constellations.

Later, the master met his wife, and they had the little master.

From then on, Bewear treated the little master as its own child.

When the little master was happy, it would also be happy.

When the little master was sad, it would also be sad.

Until three years ago, when that accident happened, everything changed.

Its Trainer died.

They could no longer listen to him tell stories of Pokémon descending from the stars under this starry sky.

Bewear's eyes moistened, and tears rolled down its face, wetting the fur on its face.

[Joy Value: -90]

[Introduction: Little master is the most important in the world! —Bewear.]

Kawaki stood quietly in the distance, watching this scene.

A small dark cloud had appeared above Bewear's head at some point, pouring down heavy rain.

It was sad, it was grieving.

Was it thinking of things from the past?

Kawaki recalled things from a long, long time ago in the original owner's memory.

How could a Pokémon not feel sad when its Trainer died?

When the news of the shipwreck came back, the original owner was so grief-stricken he almost fainted.

At that time, even though it was suffering immensely from losing its Trainer, it still forced itself to calm down and used the move [Pain Split] on its little master.

Kawaki's mood was incredibly complex. Perhaps because his soul had completely merged with the original owner's memories, he uncontrollably felt a strong wave of sadness.

This time, let him use [Pain Split] on Bewear!

Kawaki walked forward and sat down beside Bewear.

Bewear quickly wiped away its tears.

Kawaki held Bewear's paw, using this gesture to show that he would always be with it.

"I heard from everyone at the orphanage that deceased people turn into stars in the sky. If one day you see unfamiliar stars in the sky, perhaps those are them."

Bewear was stunned.

"So, Mom and Dad must be watching us from the sky! Bewear, let's work hard together to show them!"

Bewear looked up, trying hard to find two stars it had never seen before among the countless stars.

Just then, two stars suddenly twinkled.

Those were two stars it had never seen before!

And beside those two stars, there was also an inconspicuous, small star.

Bewear's eyes lit up, and it quickly pointed at the two stars, saying, "Goo!"

"I see them, Bewear," Kawaki said. "Mom and Dad certainly don't want to see us continue to be dejected."

"Goo..."

"So, Bewear," Kawaki looked at it and said, "Let's live well and work hard tomorrow too!"

Bewear immediately felt less sad than before.

It looked at the stars in the sky, then at Kawaki who was by its side, and responded, "Goo!"
