Arianna was on a phone call with Jia...
"Jia, I finally met him" she said.
"Tell me about it" Jia said, with her mouth stuffed with food.
"He's...the mysterious hero" she cried.
"What did you say?" Jia asked with her chopsticks in air.
"CEO Han is the same person who had saved me "
Jia's jaws dropped "Are... Are you serious?"
"Yes"
"This is good news!" She exclaimed.
"Huh?!"
"For some moments, I was feeling so insecure, but now I'm relieved. Guardian angel..... CEO Han, you're definitely safe" she chuckled. "Oh, I had come up to a plan. Be friends with him. Since you both have met before, it wouldn't be so hard."
"How can I? I don't want to" Arianna said.
"You have to "
"He doesn't look friendly at all. He's so cold" she said.
"Then make him" Jia persuaded.
"Why I should I do that?"
"It's for your own good, Anna"
"Alright, alright, fine! I've heard you" Arianna said with pouted lips. She didn't want to do this. That man makes her nervous....and somehow scared.
"Okay" Jia said. "Oh, I would be having another dinner with Kim Shin woo again."
"Good for you. Keep me updated, okay?"
"Yes, bye"
Arianna exhaled. Unlike her who has never had a boyfriend in her life to go out on dates. Why doesn't she have a boyfriend?! Jia and her brother always said she's pretty, then why doesn't she have one.
Please God. Give her a boyfriend. She doesn't like this 'mistress' position of hers.
She tucked herself beneath the duvet, closing her eyes with her lips making a pout.
*....*....*...*....*...*....*....*...*...*...*...*...*
After having breakfast the next morning, Arianna had been in her room for hours. Bored to death. She kept tossing on her bed, restless. There weren't even any books in her room to read.
"I'm so bored in here" she breathed. After a while, she got down from the bed and headed out to the compound. As she wandered around, she saw Ryan practising archery in the fields. She stopped by a pillar and watched him. Ryan took a arrow and aimed at the target. He let it go after a few seconds and it hit the target.
"Hmm" she breathed
Ryan took another arrow. This time it was two. He aimed again, shooting them in one go. They hit the target again.
"Whoa!" Arianna exclaimed in a low tone. Ryan turned and immediately, she hid behind the pillar, sucking in her breath. Ryan faced forward and took three arrows this time. She peeked at him as he fixed the arrows on the bow. Facing it towards the target, he let it go after a little calculations, and it hit the target.... again.
"Wow...!" Arianna whispered. How can someone be so skillful.
"Come forward. I don't bite" she heard him say. Did he see her? She had made sure to hide well. She gulped, walking briskly towards him.
"Good morning, Mr. Han" she greeted. Why does she keep calling him that? He had told her his name right?
"Why were you hiding?" he asked, without sparing her a glance.
"I...I wasn't hiding" she stuttered. His deathly cold eyes met hers and immediately she lowered them.
"Do you know how to shoot an arrow?" Ryan asked, taking another arrow.
"N-No. I don't know how " she replied and he let it go. "Don't bother, I won't be able to learn fast "
"I never said I was going to teach you "
"Oh" Arianna lowered her head. She thought he would offer to teach her. And she only said that because she didn't want to be around him for too long. If not she would die of nervousness.
"Tell me about you" Ryan spoke out of the blue.
"There's nothing good about me. I don't have a boyfriend..." She began and Ryan raised a brow. Is that what she's supposed to start with? "....My mother died when I was eight, and since then I've been living with my....." She paused.
"With your what?"
"My.....father." she bit her lips for saying that "And....all this while I thought he was my aunt's husband. He abandoned me anyway. Tch! " she scoffed.
Was that why it was easy to give her away? She must have been hurt.
"Why is that?" he asked
"I don't know. My mother never told me. She only said he never wanted me"
"Are you feeling bad being here?"
"No" she replied "I decided to come here. I didn't want to leave there anymore."
Just then, Leonel came. "Young master, I knew you'd be here " he said. Arianna slightly bowed at him and he smiled.
"What is it?" Ryan asked.
"Here are some files. Your signatures are needed on them" he replied.
Ryan looked at the pile of papers Leonel held "Why are they so many?" He asked, feeling stressed already.
"You haven't been attending to them for a while" Leonel said.
Ryan exhaled "Take them up to my study" he said to Arianna and he walked away. Leonel handed the files to her which she took. It was quite heavy but she managed, walking briskly behind Ryan , into the house.
They arrived at his study, and she placed the papers gently on the desk. Ryan took his seat, taking a breather. Arianna turned to leave, walking towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Ryan asked coldly and she turned to him. He wasn't looking at her, but the papers.
"I... I'm going to my room" she replied.
Ryan lifted his eyes from the papers and looked at her "Did I permit you to leave?" he asked sternly "No one leaves without my permission." He turned back to the files.
Arianna gulped, fidgeting with her fingers, she bit her lower lip.
Ryan lifted his head and looked at her "Don't just stand there, find yourself a seat" he ordered.
"Yes, Mr. Han" she said in low voice. Walking towards a couch at one side, she sat on it, facing him.
