Chapter 10 - I Feel Good

Veritas was submerged, he could feel himself as the wolf, how it was still a baby before learning how to walk.

Veritas reminded himself, he was Veritas, a human.

With that in mind, he decided to skip past the early lives. He imagined time quickly passing by before stopping to where the wolf fought against the bear back then.

***

Silent steps trod on the brown ground with patches of greenery in some places.

The steps stopped upon seeing a humongous bear sleeping against a boulder.

The bear looked... weird, there were patches of rocks in its body that were never seen before, Veritas assumed that it was from using its power.

A huff escaped a lip, a muzzle sniffed and two slit eyes stared at the bear.

The wolf had already taken in almost all of the surroundings, and so...

It imagined humongous two paws that grabbed a tree, yanking it out of the roots, it imagined a bigger version of itself towering over the trees.

It imagined itself as a powerful giant.

The gigantic wolf grabbed the tree before throwing it towards the bear with high speed.

But, the bear didn't notice the giant wolf and only noticed the tree flying towards him at high speed.

The bear simply formed rocks that act as a wall, effectively stopping the tree as it crashed against the rock wall.

The bear lowered the wall and didn't see the wolf anywhere.

But Veritas knew, it had already moved stealthily and fast. Veritas was pleasantly surprised with the way it moved.

He was beginning to grasp on how to use telekinesis.

But Veritas sped things up, watching the memory and information flow into his self as he watch the fight.

He needed to learn more and fast to avoid the Agent's confrontation, it was like skimming through a material.

Veritas watched as both the wolf and bear went all out, the wolf used telekinesis to throw multiple trees at the same time, forcing the bear to dodge where the wolf forced it to dodge.

The bear knew this, but its defense wasn't lacking, the armor and walls that it created managed to leave the battle in a stalemate.

Each had managed to block, each had managed to deliver a blow.

But, if there was one thing that Veritas knew from this fight and why it was a stalemate.

The wolf was cautious, it was smart, it could strategize and make the bear ended up where it wanted it. But it lacked the strength to do so.

After throwing multiple trees, Veritas felt it, the strain on its mind that pang.

It couldn't use its telekinesis on throwing more trees due to the stress.

So, putting two and two together, Veritas understood that not only did it require energy, it required mental strength.

Veritas quickly cut the connection before the Agent could confront him.

***

Veritas awoke to see the bear growling and looking at him warily, it... looked like it just shat itself.

Veritas raised one of his brows, but then he saw it.

The red lines around him like electrical circuits that traced the earth.

Veritas looked down to himself but he didn't see any of the red circuits.

It seem that it only affected the surrounding.

Veritas let out a relieved sigh, he was fast enough to avoid the Agent's detection.

He looked back at the bear who was looking at him warily, before it decided to run away.

Veritas looked at it wide-eyed before propelling himself from where he stood.

His form blurred, but the bear caught it.

The bear formed a humongous rock that blocked the path to it, causing Veritas to stop in his tracks.

But, he had already made his move.

A tree the the roots pointed towards the bear suddenly struck it, the bear roared in pain, from the blunt force.

The rock armors cracked, destroyed, then before it could retaliate, Veritas was already above the air.

Veritas burst downward, throwing another tree as he raised his right leg, gathering wind around it.

Veritas slammed his leg down, crashing against the bear's head.

A loud boom erupted, a shockwave of wind shaking the trees and its leaves as Veritas grunt.

The damned head was thick and rock hard, but Veritas felt the satisfying crack.

Veritas used telekinesis on himself, he imagined a bigger version of him with his hand picking him up and throwing him away.

Veritas yelped as he felt how he was thrown, he panicked by throwing himself away as he crashed against a tree.

'FUCK!'

Veritas shouted inside his head, pain ringing as he pursed his lips, his back aching with pain.

'Damn I'm not even old yet...'

Veritas slowly stood up, from the distance he could see the bear laying on the ground whimpering from the pain of having its skull cracked.

Veritas slowly stood up, his arms limply dangling beside him as he stare at the wolf.

Veritas used telekinesis once again, grabbing himself and instead of throwing himself, he carried himself through the air as he approached the pained bear.

Veritas gazed down at it, his head tilting as he look at the patches of rocks.

'Interesting.'

He wanted that power, more than ever now, he was curious what effect would it have on him. Would he had the same patches of rocks on him? Was that a mutation of an armor? Was that the consequence of using its power?

A lot of questions piled up, and Veritas simply gathered the wind and formed them into sharp arcs.

Multitude of them.

The bear looked up, seeing Veritas staring down at it with intrigue.

Its blood ran cold, its eyes stare at him wide open as blood covered its vision from the crack of its skull.

The bear grunt, roaring in manic as it shot out rocks towards Veritas, and Veritas felt it, an energy wave pouring out from the bear's direction.

The rocks looked sharp and strong, Veritas quickly gathered to wind to form a barrier around him.

The first wave of rocks were dispelled, but some of the rock manage to slip past the barrier and almost hit him.

Veritas tilt his head, missing a rock by hair's breath.

Veritas narrowed his eyes before throwing the wind arcs at the bear, as he focused on the multitude of arcs, a sharp pang seared his head, like needles stabbing it.

Veritas fell from the sky with a grunt, and while the arcs managed to shoot towards the bear, it lacked the power.

Veritas quickly caught himself, using telekinesis as he felt a constant ringing pain, it seem like he was on his limits.

Blood spurt out of the bear, it shouted in pain, though it didn't hit its vitals, the arcs managed to cut into him.

Veritas moved, instead of using telekinesis, he used the wind now as it hugged his body.

The scenery blurred slightly and now, Veritas was onto the bear.

The bear threw a desperate last jagged rocks that hit nothing, and the last thing it saw... was a boot crashing down onto its head.

Dust picked up from the blow, and Veritas pant as he felt the energy coursing into him.

He felt stronger again as he sighed, his arms suddenly twitched in pain.

No, his whole body was in pain.

Veritas slowly stumbled towards a tree before resting on it, the pain from the fight was finally kicking in.

But then, suddenly...

[System uploading...]

A red hologram popped up in front of him.

Veritas widened his eyes, looking at the red hologram in shock, his heart raced as a smile appeared on his face.
