I opened my mouth to speak when Tow leaned back in her seat, planting her palms to her face and tipping her head back as she groaned. "And Kael had to give me a stern earful for this!"
I slowly turned away from her, momentarily dazed.
"Being a Lycan does not mean you can ignore pack hierarchy. It does not make you exempt from basic respect. I do not know how it worked in the pack you grew up in, but here, order is taken seriously."
I spoke in a gentle tone that surprised even myself, "But I am not a pack member."
The silence that followed was suffocating, but I continued.
