Chapter 7 - Lost Cause

"Now…do you understand, kid?" His lips curved upward into that oh-so-infuriating smirk of his.

Vivianne froze. Every word he uttered rammed into her head like a sledgehammer. Her eyes glistened in understanding.

She slowly stood up and walked towards Rahu, her steps resolute. Her stance was determined.

"Ho? Look at this girl, her serious expression is somehow…hot," he chuckled.

Standing in front of Rahu, she abruptly bowed her head.

"Thank you for the valuable lesson, sir," she proclaimed. Indeed, those words of his made perfect sense. She had been far too careless.

Seeing her, Rahu let out a sudden laugh. He slowly stood up and approached the girl, he was tall, not too much though, just a head taller.

His laugh shifted into a demonic grin when he lifted her chin.

"Darling, did you think I did this out of goodwill? Heh, of course not. I did this to woo you. You're far too alluring to ignore, and you see–I like that foolish courage of yours," he whispered in her ear, with a large grin plastered on his face.

Oh, he was definitely enjoying himself, alright.

Vivianne's entire snowy white neck turned beet red; even her ears were not spared.

"I–uh–this…that…wait—no, the—uhh…WHAT!?" what the fuck am I saying!?

It was the first time in her life that a man got so close to her and gods that warm breath–NO, what am I thinking?

The words "I like that foolish courage of yours" rang in her mind a thousand times over.

"Cute," hearing that, her head seemed to explode as smoke could be seen coming out.

"Now, go on, tell me about your sect. I intend to join it—so when's the next disciples' recruitment?"

He asked casually. Truthfully, he couldn't stay in this forest any longer. Mainly because he was bored, and his physique also hadn't given him any mission after the first quest.

He indeed was skeptical at first because 'one of the three forbidden physiques' couldn't be this useless and well, so grounded in power.

He had asked about it to his 'system', but it didn't say anything useful, just along the lines of—

[Your soul would collapse if your physique were fully unlocked. Strengthen your soul]

So that brings us to the current reality, after all, he can't really do much, staying in a cave or hunting beasts.

And let's not forget that one of the major households in the Holy Sun continent's elder is after his ass, so going to the Divine Sword Sect for a while is the best option for now.

He then looked at Vivianne, who was lost in her own little world. He grinned, raising his hand.

Slap!

"Kyaaa!"

He slapped her ass! Vivianne yelped in shock.

"You bastard! How dare you!?" she bellowed. Rubbing her bubbly butt, which had turned crimson. This guy was too shameless. How can one just slap an elegant lady like her on the ass?

"I asked something and you didn't answer," he replied in his usual lazy tone, and sat down, not forgetting to take a piece of meat.

"Just you wait! Hmph!, I will definitely complain about this to the master!" she pouted, and she too sat down, though not before throwing another glare at Rahu.

"Hmph, fine, I will tell you, our sect is located in the southwest of this continent. And as I said, it is one of the three strongest sects on this continent. So it is incredibly difficult to enter the sect, but don't worry, for I am one of the core disciples of the sect, and with your strength and hmph, that mind of yours, you'll definitely be selected."

"You? A core disciple?" Rahu scoffed, though he had already learned from uh that guy whose name he forgot.

"Haah, of course, who do you think I am? If not for this damn seal of mine, I'd already be in the late stages of Origin Realm!" She puffed up her tits, which bounced with a boeing, and tilted her head back, her stance so arrogant that her nose extended and hit the ceiling.

Seeing this spectacle, he shook his head and ignored the long-nosed girl.

However, the seal word caught his attention, so he curiously asked,"And who put that seal in your ass again?"

"IN MY BODY! It was my master who put that 'seal'. Though she explained nothing about it and just said, 'your body might not be able to handle it.'"

She replied in a huff. Rahu nodded, not asking further.

"So what are the requirements to join your sect? Do I need to meet a certain level of cultivation to participate in the recruitments?" he questioned.

"...Do you live in a cave or something? And no, as long as you have the strength, you can participate in any one, Inner or outer sect disciple examination, unlike other sects, our sect is a bit…unique," though a bit salty, she explained to him patiently.

Rahu nodded,"So when's the next examination gonna take place?"

"Three weeks from now"

"Alright, here––you can have it, after all, I have no use for it presently," saying that he tossed a box towards her, who caught it awkwardly.

She was shocked, obviously, she knew what it was and its worth. She didn't think he would give it out so willingly.

"T-thanks," she said, stuttering a bit.

"Don't mention it, just think of it as your first present from your boyfriend," Rahu said with a chuckle, his otherworldly face looking even more handsome.

"Scoundrel!" she blushed and scurried away.

"Alright, we will depart one week from now. I estimate it'll take four days to reach the Divine Sword Sect; till then, you can recover from your injuries, and while at it, be a bit useful and hunt for some beasts."

Saying that he lay his back against the wall and closed his eyes.

"This son of a bitch! Who does he think he is?? Ordering me around as if I'm an ordinary maid!" she stomped her foot and sat down, beginning to absorb Mana to heal her injuries.

"Oh, wait–seriously, I-I didn't even ask your name yet…did I?"...she asked, her white cheeks flushing in embarrassment.

When he didn't reply for a few seconds, she assumed he had ignored–until he spoke,

"...Rahu"

Crimson Estate

Within the grand estate of House Crimson,

Inside the private chamber of Elder Amelia Crimson, madness was brewing.

The room could only be described as utter chaos. Pieces of mirror, broken furniture, claw marks, punch holes, and many other things could be seen.

In a corner, a woman sat crouching down, clutching her head.

Her irises spun maniacally, and her silky red hair hung all over her face. Though the chaos in the room was nothing compared to the storm that was raging in her head.

"Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,

Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,Rahu,"

Like a broken recording tape, her voice cackled into a hysterical laugh.

"Where are you, hubby, MY hubby, I-I can't take it any longer, WHERE ARE YOU"

…Yes, she was a lost cause
