The city stretched endlessly on the horizon, surrounded by towering peaks. The sect's land was massive.
The Divine Sword City was surrounded by mountains and peaks, stretching its northern boundaries to the Divine Sword Sect.
The city itself was a work of art; colossal walls were erected encircling the city, with a grand gate standing in the middle.
Four guards stood watch at the gate, and Rahu was surprised, for their aura was unmistakable. Vital Core Realm! Just mere guards.
"Now that's what I call a display of superiority, Vivianne, and here I judged the whole sect based on your…level." Rahu chuckled. Vivianne narrowed her eyes dangerously, glaring at the villain.
"Hmph, just you wait, my master will definitely teach you a lesson!" Vivianne stomped her foot and walked towards the large gate.
The guards, sensing the newcomer's presence, turned their heads in her direction. But when they saw the face, they hurriedly bowed their heads.
"Miss Vivianne, we humbly welcome you to the city and hope your mission went well," the guards spoke in reverence.
It's not only the strength that this girl represents, it's the background! Not to mention the clan backing this girl, her master's name alone is enough to scare the mighty clans and enemies.
Vivianne nodded and turned towards Rahu, gesturing to him. As the guard's eyes fell on Rahu, their eyes instantly widened in disbelief. Never in their whole life had they seen a man this handsome!
Rahu's tall, athletic figure increased his allure, making the guards a bit insecure. But when they sensed his cultivation, they instantly snorted in disdain…in their minds. They dare not show it, no matter what, he was still a guest bought by Miss Vivianne.
Instantly, a nerve snapped inside Vivianne, just as she was about to teach them a lesson. Rahu strode forward with Karma in his hands.
He didn't even bother to spare a glance at the guards; he was used to this, or this body was. Although he saved their faces in his memory for later ahem*.
Seeing this, Vivianne snorted and followed Rahu, leaving the poor guards sweating.
…
The city was as noisy as always, the entrance was filled with shops of various items, such as cheap pills, artifacts, inns, hotels, ores, materials, etc.
Rahu was stunned; the sheer size of this city was definitely bigger than the combined continents of the Earth.
And no, that wasn't the only reason he was stunned. It was the cultivation, Vital Core Realm cultivators walked around the city as if peasants.
And so many of them were even above the Vital Core Realm, and in some cases, he couldn't even sense any aura from them at all.
"Shocked, right? Wait till you enter the sect, this is just the beginning," Vivianne chuckled. Enjoying his expressions that screamed 'country boy'.
The surrounding people were awestruck seeing the otherworldly couple, even Vivianne faded in the background in the presence of Rahu. Several women even winked, bent slightly forward to display their assets, which Rahu gladly took notice of; he even ogled at some of the 'extra' large ones.
"Indeed, I hope this is the beginning," Rahu nodded. Vivianne's eyes twitched at the blatant sarcasm. She couldn't stand how the women looked at Rahu disgustingly.
"Hmph, full of nasty sluts!, Let's leave"
She quickly pulled his hand and rushed towards the center. She couldn't believe what she was doing. There will definitely be some rumours now.
After an hour of walking, they quickly reached the center, when Rahu's eyes fell on a tall woman's statue, holding a large sword, pointing at the heavens; he froze.
The statue failed to portray the beauty of the woman holding the sword; she looked valiant and extremely defiant, untamed and unfazed.
Seeing that statue, Rahu's eyes suddenly went blank. The world blurred. When he opened his eyes, he found himself on a stretching, endless battlefield.
There were billions of corpses and an ocean of blood, gore, etc. Corpses, of which some belonged to humans, some demons, and celestial-looking beings.
In the distance, there was a huge rift, and a lone, bloody woman stood amidst the chaos. Her eyes were still sharp despite the endless slaughter. She glanced at the giant rift and sighed. A flicker passed through her gaze—regret perhaps.
Rahu couldn't move his body parts, not even his eyes. The woman suddenly trembled and glanced towards Rahu.
"H#$%^?" she uttered some incomprehensible words or language and raised her finger, a blood-red ray cut through the air and dived straight into Rahu's head.
Rahu's eyes widened, and he tried to move violently, only to fail miserably. His eyes burned with fury towards the woman. That screamed,
"What did you do bitch!?"
The woman chuckled, seeing his attempt. It was heavenly, soothing to the soul to hear—if one ignored the slaughter she unleashed here.
Unfazed, the woman turned towards the rift; it was really a vast, uneven rift. Stretching across thousands of miles.
With the blood still dripping from her body, she walked towards the rift and disappeared. The instant she disappeared. Rahu came to his senses.
Huff Huff
He gasped for air, sweating like a pig, looking around, still at the center. Markets, people, basically a bustling city.
"System, explain."
[...It looks like you have gotten yourself involved in some god's mess right there.
"Yeah, no shit, why didn't you warn me?" Rahu asked, still kneeling, Vivianne's panicked eyes didn't calm him.
[You weren't harmed]
Of fucking course, Rahu sighed, "I can't blame anyone. It was I who wasn't strong enough, and even I were strong, this is a whole different level we are talking about."
Saying that, he shrugged and got up. It seems only his stamina was a bit drained. Aside from the red light that entered his body, he can't think of any other injuries.
"Master, are you okay? I sensed some weird energy enter your body just now?" Karma spoke. Showing her suspicions.
Rahu simply shook his head.
"Are you alright? What happened to you suddenly? Y-you're eyes suddenly went blank, and even your heart rate was slow!"
Vivianne said, her heart was thumping loudly. For the first time in her life, her stubborn existence felt scared.
She was afraid; she had never felt such fear before. Heck, even she didn't know something like this existed in her.
She didn't know what to do. Though their bond was short, unplanned, and plain raw. It was something she couldn't describe
Rahu smiled gently at her concern and gently coaxed her to calm down.
"Vivianne, who is she?" Rahu asked as he pointed at the accursed statue.
"She? She is the founder of our Divine Sword Sect! Everything we stand on today is because of her! One of the most powerful figures in ancient times," Vivianne spoke with reverence.
"Hmm, so where is she now?"
"That…she, no one knows what happened, it's like she just disappeared out of thin air, never to be seen again." A tinge of sadness could be heard in her voice.
"Ho? Now that's interesting. Anyway, you should go now, I'll sell the materials and meet you at the discipline selection exams," He said.
