Chapter 30 - The Elixir of Immortality!

Professor Snape pulled up a chair and sat down at Harry's desk, resting his hands on the table and staring at Harry.

"Now I'll tell you, Mr. Potter."

When daffodil bulbs are mixed with mugwort, they become a powerful hypnotic drug, which people call "water of life and death."

Bezoar is a gallstone found in the stomach of cattle, and it is the nemesis of many poisons.

"Caowu" and "Wutou" refer to the same plant, which is a common name for a plant called Aconitum carmichaelii.

"Why don't you copy this knowledge down now?"

Snape's eyes darted around, and the classroom began to stir.

All the students frantically pulled out quills and parchment to write down the information.

Snape stood up and walked onto the podium, while Harry kept staring at Snape's figure.

Harry couldn't understand why Snape was targeting him like this.

"Furthermore, Gryffindor students, because one of your classmates talked back to a teacher, Gryffindor House will have 1 point deducted!"

Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle turned around with smiles, looking at Harry with mockery.

They were clearly very happy about Professor Snape's actions towards Harry!

Hermione, standing next to Harry, was speechless. She wanted to say something, but didn't.

Professor Snape, who was taking notes on the podium, glanced in Harry's direction, while Harry stared intently at Snape.

Snape divided the students into pairs and taught them how to combine herbs, how to make potions, and what kind of magic potions could heal what kind of injuries.

He walked around the dungeon in his large black cloak, watching the students conduct experiments, mix and create potions.

Almost everyone was scolded, except for Malfoy who escaped unscathed.

Everyone could sense that Snape had a crush on Malfoy. He told everyone to learn from Malfoy and see how Malfoy did things.

Malfoy handled it so perfectly that the acidic green mist hissed as it rose from the stewing slug horns.

Neville, however, was fiddling with something and somehow managed to burn a hole in Seamus's hot pot!

The medicinal liquid from the pot spilled all over the floor, spreading throughout the classroom and burning small holes in the shoes.

Left with no other choice, the entire class stood on their desks.

Only the foolish Neville remained standing on the ground. As a result, the completely burned-out boiler tipped over, splashing medicinal liquid everywhere and covering his entire body.

Neville burst into tears immediately; his arms and legs were covered in blisters from the burns, making him look extremely frightening.

"Foolish!" Snape roared. He quickly went to Neville's side, picked up his wand, and waved it at the ground, making all the potion on the ground disappear.

"Did you throw porcupine quills in before you lifted the steamer off the fire?"

The blisters on Neville's nose were bright red and looked like they were about to burst.

Now he cried even harder.

"Take him to the infirmary," Snape ordered Seamus.

Then, he stared at Harry and Ron sitting next to Neville and said in a low voice:

"You, Potter, why didn't you tell Neville that you can't add porcupine quills when stewing this medicine?"

You're thinking that if he makes a mistake, you'll get to watch the show, right? I'm going to deduct another point from you!

This is unfair!

Harry opened his mouth to retort, but Ron kicked him from under their steamer, signaling him not to do anything foolish.

Jack saw this scene from behind and a slight smile appeared on his lips.

This is much more exciting than watching the movie; no wonder people who watched Harry Potter in the early days hated Snape.

If Jack hadn't known the plot, he might have also been tempted to teach this guy a lesson.

But for now, Harry, consider this a trial for you!

An hour later, Harry and his two companions emerged from the dungeon.

Harry was extremely depressed.

He's already lost two points in just one week since starting school!

Why did Snape hate him so much?

"Hey Harry! You need to pull yourself together!" Ron said. "Snape deducts points from Fred and George all the time, he's not targeting you."

By the way, may I go with you to visit Hagrid?

Harry nodded, and the thought of seeing Hagrid soon eased some of his gloom.

He looked at Hermione beside him, "Hermione, are you going too? To see Hagrid!"

He was eager to let Hagrid meet his new friend!

Hermione wanted to go back and study, but seeing Harry's expectant look, she nodded.

Meanwhile, Snape went straight to Jack's office after leaving the classroom.

Jack was flipping through a book on potions when Snape came in and his eyes lit up when he saw the title of the book.

"Professor Jack, are you also interested in potions?"

Jack closed the book "Advanced Potion Making" in his hand and gestured for Snape to sit down.

"I'm somewhat interested, especially in the elixir of immortality!"

Snape frowned upon hearing this. An elixir of immortality?!

"The elixir of immortality is not as powerful as its name suggests; it is very difficult to manufacture."

Moreover, it must be taken continuously to be effective; once you stop taking it, it will lose its effect!

Most importantly, the elixir of immortality requires one crucial ingredient: the magic stone!

Snape paused, glanced at Jack, and noticed that Jack had picked up another book, "Potions and Magical Elixirs," and was flipping through it.

Thinking that Jack might not be familiar with these things, he further explained:

"The Philosopher's Stone was created by Nicolas Flamel. There is only one in the world, and it is an essential ingredient for the elixir of immortality!"

The elixir of immortality has only been used by Nicolas Flamel and his wife, who are rumored to be over 660 years old.

The whereabouts of the Philosopher's Stone may only be known to the couple, but they have gone into seclusion, and no one knows its location.

Snape looked at Jack, who remained expressionless, as if these matters had nothing to do with him.

Snape hesitated for a moment, but then spoke up.

"I've heard Voldemort is also searching for the Philosopher's Stone, if..."

Snape was also worried, after all, he knew Voldemort's strength.

Moreover, given Voldemort's reputation, it remains to be seen whether Jack can defeat him.

Jack snapped the book shut.

"Ha, Voldemort?"

Luckily, Voldemort was smart enough not to come directly to cause trouble for him, otherwise he would have sent Voldemort away long ago.

Upon hearing Jack's disdainful tone, Snape immediately recalled the strength Jack had previously displayed.

Perhaps, even Voldemort would be no match for him?

Snape shook his head. He had been flustered by the mention of Voldemort and had almost forgotten that the person in front of him was no less powerful than Voldemort.

But how will he find the Philosopher's Stone, which even Voldemort couldn't find?

Snape looked at Jack curiously, "The Philosopher's Stone won't be easy to find either! Unless we find Nicolas Flamel and his wife first."

As soon as Snape finished speaking, Jack's voice came over.

"I know where the Philosopher's Stone is!"
