Chapter 33 - Fool

Reyna noticed Alexander's gaze.

It was the look one gives a fool, filled with pity, amusement, and mockery.

Reyna even read words in Alexander's eyes: 'What a good kid, too bad he's a fool.'

Before Reyna could speak, Alexander moved his chair forward and spoke first.

"Do you eat melon seeds?" he asked Reyna sincerely. "According to the customs of my hometown, after teasing a fool, you usually have to buy him melon seeds."

Looking at Alexander's sincere expression, Reyna felt a surge of anger, her face burning.

"I'm serious," she said, gritting her teeth. "You should be a little serious too."

"I am very serious. Actually, I also have an idea."

Alexander couldn't help but smile and said,

"Why don't we save up some money and build a border wall on the edge of Ashford to keep all the Tyranids out?"

"For the future development of tourism, we can even tile this border wall inch by inch."

Reyna clenched her fists, her face flushed crimson.

She took a deep breath and said, word by word, "I really want to blast your mouth into mincemeat with a single psychic cannon."

"Then you'll have to get in line," Alexander chuckled.

Reyna snorted, looking at Alexander and said, "I am already building that Ark."

"Hmm?" Alexander raised an eyebrow.

"Seven or eight years ago, based on a prophecy, I found the remains of an ancient slave ship and its blueprints."

Reyna looked at Alexander and said,

"The structure of a slave ship is not complicated, and it doesn't have many weapon systems; it was used by merchants in the past."

"As long as there are enough people, even hive city workers can build it."

"From the beginning of establishing the Ark Gang, I have been organizing people to build this Ark, and it is now nearing completion."

As if to prevent Alexander from asking questions, Reyna spoke almost without a breath:

"That slave ship itself was designed to transport more people, and it can even be squeezed further, enough to hold the population of several major districts currently ruled by the Ark Gang."

"I don't plan to travel long distances, only a short distance to the Baal Star System. The entire voyage won't be too long, and material problems will be easy to solve."

Looking at Reyna's serious expression, Alexander couldn't help but rub his temples, a headache brewing.

Something was wrong, nine-tenths wrong.

Although full of flaws, this plan did have some feasibility,

Provided the biggest problem was ignored.

"You're not planning to fly to Baal from the material universe using only the power engine, are you?"

Alexander put down his hand from his temples, tapped the table, and asked.

"A Navigator, a Geller Field, and a Warp Engine—which one do you have?"

"No Navigator."

Reyna shook her head:

"But the distance from the Netherworld Star System to Baal is not far. This is just a short-distance voyage. Many merchant ships navigate through complex and tedious astronomical triangulation."

"I have a systematic mathematical education, and there are many hive city workers with mathematical backgrounds. The Baal Star System is a nearby star system, so we can work together to calculate precise coordinates."

"Geller Field... I have my own way to solve it."

At this point, Reyna paused:

"Do you know what a Geller Field generator extracts to operate?"

Hearing Reyna's words, Alexander was stunned for a moment.

"Psykers, extracting the power of unconscious Psykers."

Alexander said in a low voice:

"Psykers can weaken the barrier between reality and the Warp, which manifests as Warp incursions into the material universe in reality."

"But conversely, if in the Warp, Psykers can also create a small bubble of reality."

"A psyker is sitting right in front of you," Reyna said, pointing to herself.

She said softly, "We don't have a Geller Field generator, but if my psychic power is continuously extracted, it can create a Geller Field sufficient to sustain a short-distance voyage."

Reyna spoke very calmly,

But without a Geller Field generator, crudely outputting psychic power to create a Geller Field is an extremely dangerous act.

It's almost equivalent to using a psykers as a disposable item.

Even for a short-distance voyage, Reyna would likely fall into madness or die directly after completing the journey.

"Are you planning to cosplay the Emperor?" Alexander looked at Reyna, his voice flat.

"No one can imitate the Emperor. What I am about to sacrifice is nothing compared to what He has already sacrificed."

Reyna lowered her head slightly, gently stroking the Holy Word Records tattoo on her cheek with her finger.

"…" Alexander observed Reyna for a while, then nodded slightly and said, "That's true."

"A good child full of kindness," the winged figure of Sanguinius whispered from the corner of Alexander's eye.

"Many terrible things in the galaxy start with a little bit of kindness."

Alexander said to the winged figure of Sanguinius in his mind:

"For example, Magnus' psychic cannon, for example, Angron being implanted with Butcher's Nails to protect his companions, for example, the Ultramarines and Word Bearers on Calth—"

The winged figure of Sanguinius did not refute.

Alexander withdrew his gaze from him and looked at Reyna in front of him: "So, what about the Warp Engine?"

"Don't tell me you plan to tear open a gate into the Warp out of thin air with your own psychic power."

Reyna shook her head: "I don't have a Warp Engine yet, but I know where one is."

"In the lowest level of the hive city, the Warp Engine of the first colonial ship that colonized Ashford in the past is still there."

"Where did you learn this?" Alexander frowned and asked.

Ashford's first colonial ship—Ashford was colonized in the Dark Age!

"The Emperor's revelation to me," Reyna said, holding her head high with a confident expression.

Bang!!!

Alexander punched Reyna on the head, producing a crisp sound.

Sounds good? A good sound means a good head!

"Ah! Why did you hit me!" Reyna covered her head, looking at Alexander with a wronged expression.

"You didn't call me here because you want me to go to the Bottom Nest to find that Warp Engine that may or may not exist, did you?"

Alexander said, his mouth twitching. He regretted why he didn't try harder just now and directly beat this idiot illegal psyker, whose brain was corrupted by religion, to death.

"That was the plan initially…" Reyna said softly.

Alexander raised his fist again.

"Don't hit me, don't hit me, don't hit me!"

Reyna quickly waved her hand:

"I wasn't planning to send you directly. I just wanted to talk to you first."

"After all, even if you went, you would most likely not find the location of that engine."

Reyna paused:

"I know someone who can confirm whether the Warp Engine exists and also confirm its location."

Alexander raised an eyebrow: "Where is that person?"

Reyna stretched out her finger and pointed to the ceiling...

"She is in the Upper hive, a kind of Numerology."

"I hope she's not studying Numerology."
