Gideon cut through the lobby in long, urgent strides, heading straight for the lift. All he wanted was to get back to the hospital as fast as possible. The anger from his argument with Danica still simmered in his veins. Her words refused to leave his mind, making him restless and uneasy.
He had been trying hard to make amends with Summer, to earn her forgiveness, and bridge the rift between them, even knowing how much she resented him. He knew his actions had wounded him, but he wouldn't stop trying to get her forgiveness.
At such a critical moment, Danica had chosen to talk about marriage, about starting a family with him.
Just recalling her words reignited his fury.
'I was clear from the very beginning,' he fumed inwardly. 'She agreed to it and went abroad to start over. Why is she changing her stance now?'
