The following week, Arcane finally started his job as a math teacher at Acrenimia School Girls, a high school for girls where he had applied for a teaching position the week before.
As usual, every morning he made breakfast, then woke up his contract husband who was still fast asleep.
Knock knock
"Hey, are you still sleeping? It's almost 7:00 a.m. and I have to leave for work. Hurry up and wake up and eat your breakfast!" he said as he continued knocking on Julian's door.
"Mnnn... Yes, I hear you," Julian replied from inside his room, then got out of bed and went to the kitchen to meet Arcane, who was eating his breakfast.
The man was wearing a black shirt with a red tie. He was ready to leave for work after breakfast.
"Starting tomorrow, you have to wake up even earlier because I have to leave before 7:00 a.m. I want to make sure everything is in order before I leave for work," said Arcane, looking at Julian, who was still sleepy.
"Uhh... Yeah. I understand." He yawned and ate his breakfast with his eyes closed.
Arcane could only sigh and shake his head at his husband's childish behavior. He teased him that Julian must have always been spoiled because he was an only child.
However, the teasing was not wrong because every day, everything in Julian's life was always done by his mother. From cooking, washing clothes, even tidying up his room.
But since he had been living with him, Julian had to do everything himself, and he almost mixed white clothes with colored ones when washing them.
If Arcane hadn't come home on time, all the white clothes would have been mixed with colors. Especially since Julian was washing his own clothes with the intention of helping him.
"Next time, don't make that mistake again. My white shirt could have turned colorful because of your mistake. Next time, I'll teach you other things when I have time," he said, finishing his breakfast right then and there.
He stood up from where he was sitting and washed his plate and glass before finally putting on his jacket. As usual, Julian took his bag and walked him to the front door.
"When will you be coming home? Will you also be coming home in the afternoon like most students?" he asked as he handed his the bag.
"I think so. I'm a teacher, so I should come home later than the students. To make sure they get home safely," replied Arcane, who was putting on his shoes.
He took his bag from Julian's hand and left the house. Before leaving, as usual, he reminded Julian to be careful every time he turned on the stove. He knew the man was very careless and could easily leave the stove on or turn it up too high.
"Relax! I'm not a child who would do something like that." Julian folded his arms across his chest.
After making sure everything was okay, Arcane left the house and walked to the school where he taught, which was not far from their house.
Upon arriving at school, he was immediately directed to an empty desk that would be his desk in the teachers' room. It turned out that he was sitting next to the language teacher.
"Hello, good morning. You're the new math teacher, right?" asked the language teacher. "My name is Kyle Bernard."
Arcane turned to him, noticing the language teacher looked so gentle and calm for a man. Seeing Kyle extend his hand, he accepted the handshake and introduced himself.
"Arcane Romano. Nice to meet you, Mr. Bernard."
"Just call me Kyle. Welcome to your new school. I hope we can be good friends as fellow teachers," said Kyle.
He nodded and sat down at his new desk. Arcane arranged a few things on his desk, including his teaching materials.
He looked at his schedule for the day and saw that he had a class to teach in 2A that morning. Kyle, curious, looked at Arcane's teaching schedule.
"You're teaching 2A this morning? As a long time teacher at this school, I just want to warn you to be careful with one of the students in that class."
For some reason, he suddenly said that to warn Arcane. The man explained that in class 2A there was a student named Freya Morgan who was the daughter of a donor to the school.
He wanted Arcane to be careful because Freya was known as a student who liked to flirt with male teachers even though she knew the school rules, that they had to be married.
At first, Arcane didn't really care about this because his reputation was as a math teacher who was married to a man. However, Kyle told him that before Arcane taught at the school, there was a physics teacher who was forced to leave.
"They said that Mr. Takashi had harassed Freya in the school warehouse. Everyone knew that it was just slander because Mr. Takashi was known as a very good teacher with a good reputation at the school. But because Mr. Morgan, Freya's father, was a major donor to the school, he didn't want Mr. Takashi to remain at the school," he explained.
He was just worried that Arcane might get into trouble if he got too close to Freya, especially since Arcane was still young. On average, all the teachers at the school were over 30 to 35 years old.
Hearing this, Arcane nodded in understanding and decided he would be careful around the student named Freya from class 2A.
'That student could cause problems for me. I could get expelled from school before I achieve my goal of entering this school. I have to be careful around her,' Arcane thought at that moment.
Not long after, the school bell rang, signaling that class had started. The red haired man got ready with several books that he would take to his new class.
As he walked away from the teachers' room, he looked for class 2A on the second floor of the school and entered the classroom.
Class 2A, which had been noisy, immediately fell silent when he entered the classroom, because they were stunned by the good looks of their new math teacher.
"Good morning, everyone. I am your new math teacher, replacing Mr. Leoshi. My name is Arcane Romano, you can call me Mr. Romano," he said as he wrote his name on the whiteboard.
As he stood behind the teacher's desk, the female students began whispering with smiles on their faces as they looked at him. Arcane then took the attendance book and called out their names one by one to find out who his students were in the class.
Finally, he reached the letter F, where he mentioned a name he had to avoid.
"Freya Morgan!" he called out.
A pink haired student stood up from her seat, smiling shyly but also flirtatiously at him.
'So she's Freya Morgan? I have to be careful not to get too close, let alone attract her attention,' he thought at the time.
However, Arcane realized that without him trying to be friendly or talk to her, Freya was already interested in him.
"My name is Freya Morgan, Mr. Handsome Romano."
