Julian was shocked when the man in front of him turned out to be Arcane. Not only was he shocked, but Arcane himself was also surprised to find out that the person who was considered a stalker at school was his own contract husband.
His green eyes stared intently at him, as if demanding an explanation as to why he was here.
However, Julian looked frightened when he was stared at like that, especially with the principal nearby.
"So he's the stalker you mentioned earlier?" asked the principal to the security guard.
"Yes, sir. He is a man suspected by several female students of being a stalker because he keeps following them. That's why I brought him here," replied the security guard.
Seeing Julian in trouble, he knew he would also get into trouble if this continued. Arcane immediately walked towards him and began his act.
"Julian? What are you doing here?" he asked, standing right in front of him.
"About that, I..."
"Do you know him, Mr. Romano?" asked the principal, this time speaking to Arcane.
The red haired man nodded and then took Julian's hand. "Yes, this is my husband. It seems he came here because he missed me, who left him alone at home."
He then turned to Julian again and smiled. "You already miss me even though I just left you two hours ago. You don't need to worry, I'll definitely come home and see you right away."
To make his acting seem more believable, Arcane even kissed Julian's temple, causing the man's face to immediately turn red.
'Did he just kissed my temple?!' he thought, embarrassed and panicked.
"Forgive us, we're still newlyweds. So he doesn't want to be far from me. Right, honey?" Arcane asked again, winking and putting his arm around Julian's shoulder.
Julian knew he had to play along too. With a red face, he leaned his head on Arcane's shoulder and nodded.
"Y-yes, I'm lonely at home by myself. I don't know what to do alone in a big city like this without you," he replied, hugging Arcane's waist while trying to hide his embarrassment.
The man, who worked as a math teacher, explained that his husband was from a small town and had just moved to the city. That was why he didn't know much about the area, including the girls' school he was attending.
"So maybe he was curious about the schools around here and followed the students without realizing it," he explained.
The principal, who heard the answer, nodded in understanding, assuming Julian was new to the city. Meanwhile, the vice principal standing nearby looked dissatisfied with the answer given.
"So he's your husband? How long have you been married?" asked the vice principal, adjusting his glasses.
"We've been married for about a year. It's just that we hadn't had time to get a marriage license, so we only got it a few days ago."
Arcane tried to explain why their marriage license looked new even though they had been married for a year. It was clear that it was a lie he had deliberately made up to make them believe about his relationship with Julian.
Because the misunderstanding had been cleared up, and the principal was also satisfied with the application Arcane had made to apply to be a math teacher at the school, he accepted him.
"Congratulations, Mr. Romano, you can start teaching next week. I will ask Mr. Banshi to give you the next information about teaching at this school," said the principal, then pointed to his vice, Mr. Banshi.
"I will contact you again later for your teaching schedule and the rules you must follow," said Mr. Banshi, who looked stiff and more stern than the friendly principal.
"Thank you. Well then, we'll take our leave." Arcane smiled and turned to Julian. "Let's go home. I'll buy you ice cream on the way home."
"Really?" Julian looked happy at the promise of ice cream, but he immediately looked down in embarrassment because he had reacted reflexively like a little kid.
The two of them left the principal's office, holding hands. Walking down the school hallway, Julian whispered to them to let go of each other's hands because the principal's office was no longer in sight.
However, Arcane refused. He reasoned that there were still many students in the school who were currently watching them, including the teachers.
"It would look very suspicious if I suddenly let go of your hand like that. They would be suspicious of our relationship," he whispered back.
As they walked down the school hallway, several female students noticed them and began whispering about Arcane.
"I heard he's a new teacher at this school. I don't know when he'll be teaching, but he's so handsome!" said one of the students to her friend.
"You're right. But who is that next to him? If he teaches at this school, could it be that the person next to him is his partner? You know the school rules about male teachers, right?" her friend whispered back.
Everyone at the school knew the rule that young male teachers had to be married if they wanted to work at the school.
They do not accept male teachers who are single or do not have a partner. Although there is still a possibility that they may have affairs with students, at least the students are taught not to approach male teachers, especially those who are married.
Finally, the two of them walked out of the school gate, and Arcane began to release her grip on Julian's hand.
"Your palms are sweaty like that. Are you nervous when you hold my hand?" he asked teasingly.
"Who wouldn't be nervous if you suddenly grabbed my hand like that? Besides, I'm not nervous. I just feel hot because of the weather," replied Julian, not wanting to admit that he was nervous about holding the man's hand.
They walked home together, but stopped briefly at a minimarket to buy ice cream.
"You almost caused a big problem for me earlier. If the principal hadn't been satisfied with my explanation, I could have been rejected from that school because of your stupidity," said Arcane, referring to Julian being caught following the girls to school.
"I told you I was just curious about where their school was! I had no bad intentions in following them or thinking dirty thoughts!"
Even though Julian had told him honestly, Arcane laughed at the ridiculous excuse, especially since he had been caught by security. The man knew full well that Julian had only been trying to find out what was going on.
In his opinion, how could someone as innocent and clumsy as Julian think dirty thoughts about a teenage girl? It was ridiculous.
Seeing Arcane laugh at him, Julian pouted while eating his ice cream. He was annoyed that he was being laughed at. But suddenly, Arcane gently pulled his cheek, even though it still made him wince a little.
"Don't cause trouble like that again. It's only your first day as my husband, and you're already causing trouble like that."
He said it in a teasing tone, then let go of Julian's cheek and ate his own ice cream. Julian rubbed his cheek, then licked his ice cream.
At first, he thought Arcane would be angry with him for embarrassing him like that. But it turned out that the man didn't look angry at all. This made him feel relieved and happy at the same time.
"Don't do it again. Do you understand?" Arcane asked him again, making sure he heard him.
"Yes, I understand."
