Chapter 6 - Oh Amy Darling

Amanda

"I really don't like him," I threw myself down on my bed as I held my phone to my ear.

"Amanda it hasn't even been twenty four hours," Dad laughed. His Irish accent blaring through my phone speaker and into my ear. He always spoke too loudly on the phone no matter how many times we told him he did not need to.

"It's been enough for me. Can't you just speak to Edward and ask him nicely. He always listens to you more than he ever has anyone else."

"Don't bother your brother for such things Amy. Edward has a lot on his plate. You know if he just heard you whimper he'd fly to you and I need him on his A game now. We're going to present a huge contract in a few days and I need his mind sharp."

"I saw on the news-"

"Your brother keeps his mind sharp by entertaining whichever actress caught his eye for the week, let him be."

"I don't think I know anymore between Marco and him who had influenced each other more. It's a toxic friendship, you should have broken that equation quickly."

He let out a laugh and I could imagine him shaking his head, "Edward's face alone would have gotten him all the attention he is already having. Whether he met Marco or not he would have still been the player he is. However Marco is a sweet boy. He's my godson and even though at times he can be rough around the edges he cares. Just give him some time Amanda. Maybe tomorrow you'll see him in a different light."

"I'm still going to tell Edward though."

"I know nothing can stop you but don't add more spice to a bland story Amy. Just state facts."

"I will…"

"And you won't believe what he said to me Edward!"

"What?" he gasped.

"He said that I'm not sophisticated and I show no restraint because I vacuum my pancakes but I was really hungry. He shouldn't judge me. I know a lot of men who would find it very attractive that I have quite the appetite."

"Marco likes size zero girls who pretend like they're not hungry. He doesn't appreciate a real woman."

"That is exactly what I thought!" I eagerly nodded even though I knew he could not see me. "Therefore you should come over, punch him then I'll come back to England and you can mentor me."

"That's a brilliant idea!" he clapped, "But no. You're riding this one out."

"Edward! You said you're my knight in shining armour and I'm your princess. You're being a terrible knight!"

"I'm forcing you to grow up princess. I have to get to work, have a good night Amanda. Give Marco a chance. He can be- he can be Marco. He's quite the dick until you get to know him alright. He's just teasing you. Rattling you up. Don't let him get under your skin."

"Well he's getting under it alright," I mumbled lowly.

"I love you, please just try not to kill him Amy," the last thing I heard was his chuckle before he ended the call not giving me a chance to respond.

I let out a huff and threw my phone down on the perfectly fluffy white duvet then laid my body down. I had not yet changed out of my pencil skirt and blouse. I kicked off my heels as soon as I slipped into the suite.

The hotel was a nice difference to Marco's huge space. I picked a one bedroom suite mostly because I was alone and I had always preferred something small and intimate when travelling.

Edward, if he could, always came with me. I normally travelled with my assistant but I figured I would not entertain Marco for long therefore I felt no need to uproot my whole team's life. A large part of me knew combining my business with the Agassi house would get the success I knew my company deserved.

Yes he was egotistical and first impressions were everything but I needed him. No matter how badly I wanted to deny it, I knew there was no excuse.

"Oh Amy, darling. What a mess you have gotten yourself into," I sat back up and looked at my reflection in the floor to ceiling mirror opposite my bed. Just thinking about Marco had me flustered. My cheeks had an obvious blush spreading across them and my chest strangely as well.

My curly hair looked untamed. It must have gotten that way when I tried to run away from him. When he lifted me up. I must have looked like this throughout our mini lunch together. As if I had manhandled. The cleavage that was shown off made me wonder if this was how I looked when I was with him as well.

Maybe that explained why he looked. Or maybe it was just my mind. Marco had never seen me before. Never cared. It was truly all in my mind.

All I needed was a good shower and a hearty dinner with an early night in. You would think after being in the jet for so long I would be exhausted but it felt like my mind was all over the place. Unable to switch itself off.

I was quick to undress, order a quick room service that would arrive by the time I was done then threw my body into the shower. I washed my hair, scrubbed my body clean, towel dried my body and let my curls air dry then wrapped my body in the fluffy white robe hanging in the bathroom.

Just as I was applying my face products there was a knock on my door and my stomach rumbled with obvious joy.

Securing the belt around my waist to make sure I did not bless anyone's eyes I went skipping over and opened the door with a wide smile. Instead of a hotel employee I was met with a strong chest covered in a white silk button up shirt that was barely covering any skin to begin with.
