Marco
"And where's my food?" Amanda's big eyes looked up to me with a scowl. Her tiny button nose wrinkled and her mouth twisted in a pout of annoyance.
I knew I should have answered faster but my eyes were glued to her body covered by a robe that did little to hide her exposed shoulder. They were the smoothest I had ever seen. The most delicate thing, that I would have been afraid to touch her in fear I could break her.
Her curves still showed through and she looked gorgeous in something I knew a lot of people would have looked unflattering in.
"Did you eat it or something?" she folded her tiny arms across her chest with a scowl. "Marco if you're not going to talk I'm going."
She took a step back and was about to shut the door when my hand flew forward to stop it. "I cancelled your room service."
Her gasp filled the corridor. "And who do you think you are! And what are you doing here? Are you stalking me?"
I straightened my spine and shoved my hands in my black trouser pockets. "I came to invite you to dinner."
"You could have called then I wouldn't have felt for saying no," she rolled her eyes and was about to shut the door again but I quickly slipped in.
"I will scream," she glared as she walked down the hallway.
"You wouldn't," I chuckled but it seemed little had changed with Amanda in the past eight years as in horror I watched her open her mouth and a loud scream filled the suite. I ran to her and covered her mouth with my hand but she quickly bit down causing me to release her a hiss. "It's like you have venom!"
"Maybe I do," she glared and held her robe tighter to herself. "I don't want to go out with you. I just want to relax and recover from your complete incompetence."
"Amanda I'm trying to extend an olive branch here."
"And I'm burning it," she snapped. "Go keep yourself busy with one of your many whores please and thank you."
"You're impossible," I growled. "You're acting spoiled."
"Broke men would think such a thing," she rolled her eyes.
She knew how to light a fuse of anger in me faster than anyone I had ever met. I had never in my life met someone more infuriating and I wondered if she was an imposter! She was nothing like Edward that I even wondered if they were playing some sick prank on me.
"Enjoy dinner by yourself then," I practically spat out before marching right back out of her room then slamming the door behind me.
Just before I could reach the elevator I heard a door open followed by the pitter patter of tiny feet. "Marco," her voice was much gentlier this time and I willed myself to turn back and look at her. I almost wanted to cover her up even though she already was. No other person deserved to see her in such a state. Her hair dripping wet and her face stripped of any makeup.
It was not like she wore any to begin with but there was something more intimate to how she stared at me. Something I believed only I could see.
"Don't be a fucking twat," she rolled her eyes. "You catch feelings way too fast. I'll go out for dinner with you but it would have been nice if you gave me a heads up first."
"I-" I lost my breath for a second before running my fingers through my hair. "It was spontaneous. I didn't want to give you the option of saying no."
She stared into my eyes for what felt like forever before she shrugged. "You'll wait for me down by the lobby."
I nodded. She spun on her heels and quickly walked back to her room.
I let out a heavy exhale then shook my head. What in the world was happening to me? I blamed it due to the fact it was Amanda. I knew if a tear escaped her eye whilst she was under my care Edward would wring my neck with both his hands if it was my fault.
Maybe that explained why I was so cautious. So eager to please her or at least have her smile at me. She had not smiled at me since she had laid eyes on me which was a huge difference to how she used to be but I guessed that was my fault.
If I had treated her better the last time I had seen her then maybe... maybe things would have turned out differently.
Everyone in the lobby seemed to look at me in shocked surprise as they passed. It was a hotel I was often seen at to have dinners with the elite, functions or my own personal endeavors but never had I waited for anyone. In fact no one had dared to make me wait but Amanda did not really seem to care.
It had been thirty minutes with no sign of her that I wondered if she was just toying with me at this rate. I anxiously tapped my right foot on the marbled floor debating with myself if I should go up to her room again, but just as the thought crossed my mind the elevator doors opened and there she was.
Her curly hair was dried and still as untamed as before but looked glossier as it was neatly tied up into a ponytail. Her face bare of any makeup besides a light shade of lipgloss seemed to make everyone stop in their tracks as everyone stared at her in complete awe.
The outfit she wore left little to the imagination as she wore a tanned caramel tube body con dress that looked like her second skin and beige kitten heels. Her small black leather handbag was just big enough to fit her phone and surely her small purse.
My mouth grew dry as she approached me with a small smile clearly having seen the effect she had on me. "Let's go, I'm starving," and with a sassy little step, walked right past me.
