Rise of the Feline Society Chapter 12 - The Underground Fight Club

When Felix came out of the shadows, he wasn't wearing normal clothes like the two of them were expecting. He was wearing a swirling orange and dark Teal track suit like the uniform the gangs wear except that his was different colors. He did a little spin showing off the suit.

"Eh?" William said. "What are you wearing?"

"Our new gang uniform," Felix replied. "We are going to a place where we want to look like a gang and not just a bunch of high school delinquents just having some fun. We don't have a gang yet but let's see what catches on. The reason why I chose orange and dark teal is that since there are multiple gangs and a lot of the color schemes have been taken; the best option left were these two colors."

Amelia and William looked at each other before looking back at Felix.

"Don't worry," Felix said. "I have been planning this for a while now. I have a total of seven that I had made. Five for us and two just in case we got two new members tonight. Follow me."

Felix turned around heading into the shadow of a doorway that led inside the abandoned building. William and Amelia followed Felix inside the building. When they walked through the doorway they found three people inside. The first one was of course Felix. His sister Penny was there and the last person looked significantly older than them. He had short brown hair and a little goatee. He was wearing the same orange and dark teal tracksuit as Felix and Penny were. He stood up when the two walked in.

"Hello," he said. "You must be William and Amelia. Welcome to the gang."

"This is Marvin Clay," Felix said. "If this gang gets bigger at my planned speed, we will need to use his age to sign documents, own things, sign contracts and rent things. He will be useful to the gang. He was a former member of the Darklash gang before they kicked him out.

"Hello Marvin," William said. "How old are you?"

"I'm 25 years old," Marvin replied.

"Now," Felix said before more conversation could get going. "I hoped you enjoyed yourself at the Rageblitz club…"

"Did you win," Marvin jumped in.

"Barely," Amelia replied. "William's twin sister was very good at the game."

"You have a twin," Marvin said sitting back down on the ground. "How about that. Do you think she can join?"

"No," William immediately said. "I don't want her in this line of work."

"Bummer," He replied. "She sounded like she would've been a good member."

Felix cleared his throat. "Anyways we don't have long," Felix stated as he handed both of them the same gang uniform that he was wearing. Go behind a wall or something and change.

Amelia and William separated going in different directions, changing from their clothes into the gang uniform returning to where felix, Penny and Marvin were.

"Put your clothes next to ours upstairs," Felix said. "Nobody comes in this area and the event is on the other side of this big building."

The pair went upstairs and placed their folded-up clothes next to the other three.

"Wait," William whispered.

"What?" Amelia replied.

"Do you think that Felix, Penny, or Marvin are Animorphs?"

"I wouldn't count on it," Amelia said. "You have to remember William that the serums are so expensive that down in a Tier D city it takes an entire gang's wealth in order to buy a single serum. The only reason we got the serums is because we stole them during their transportation. It wasn't even one of the gangs in Emberlyn serums, they were just transporting it."

"Oh," William said.

"If you're going to ask if we should tell them, well we shouldn't," Amelia continued. "After all we did steal them. In the future will I tell them?" She shrugged her shoulders. "Yeah, I will, but I want to trust them first and so shall you. Agreed?"

William thought about it before answering. "Agreed."

The Animorphs made their way back down the stairs.

"What took you so long?" Felix asked. "Did you have to refold your clothes or something? Well, it doesn't matter," Felix stood up and started to walk. "Please follow me and I'll explain on the way."

The others got up following Felix who was walking through the abandoned building.

"The place we are going to isn't exactly legal," Felix began. "It's an underground fighting organization. Every couple of days the organizers will organize one of these events. It's basically a night club but with fighting and illegal betting. It's a place where noobie gangs gather trying to recruit new members. There might be a representative from the bigger gangs like the Shadowfire or the Ironclad gang. There might even be someone from a higher tier city looking for a good fighter and sponsor them but I haven't seen any."

Felix turned a corner heading down a hallway where there was a person standing in front of a closed door.

"Today is a scout day," Felix continued. "Since we are new, I hope to bet everything on our two fighters so we can win big with the odds against us. You up for the task William and Amelia.

"What?" The two of them said as the group reached the door.

"All come but no serve the treasure hunt," Felix said.

"That's correct," the man said as he opened the door to let them in.

The group entered a stairwell and proceeded to go down the stairs. Before William could ask what Felix meant by if he was up to the task the system greeted him with a notification.

"Your bond with the biotech suit has grown stronger. Evolution taking place."

Evolution taking place William thought confused. What type of evolution are we talking about? Just like before the system answered.

"The biotech main function has successfully bonded with the host. Notifying creator of this achievement."

Wait, William thought. Don't send anything out.

Meanwhile somewhere far away from William in a different city was a man in a dark lab. He was wearing a white lab coat but most couldn't tell as the room was too dark for most to see. The man was sitting in his chair contemplating what he should do next when his computer turned on displaying a notification. The computer was on the lowest brightness setting so his face was still shrouded in darkness.

"What is this?" the man's voice said echoing in the room slightly as he moved his mouse to click on the notification.

A screen opened up displaying a message.

Biotech suit #3 – The Felkin: has a new update.

"NO!" The man clenched the table and it crushed under his hand. His fingers elongated as he swiped his hand destroying his computer in rage. His right hand then transformed into a veiny grey showing the running lines of red tech across his hand. He then proceeded to rip the table from the floor throwing it at the wall. The table split into many pieces upon impact.

"Someone stole my experiment!" He roared causing the room to shake slightly as his pupils glowed a brighter red but it was still relatively dim.

"You're lucky I'm preoccupied," The man growled. "But once I'm done, I'm coming for your head!"

The System seemed to ignore his comment as it continued. "Neural Rewiring and Gene Editing has successfully been added. The system is proceeding to alter your chemistry to begin your true purpose. Please stand by."

"Neural Rewriting," William said out loud in surprise.

"What?" Felix asked as he paused to look at William."

William noticing that he just spoke out loud quickly tried to explain himself.

"Eh, sorry, I just connected the dots to a book I'm reading."

Felix stared at William for a moment longer before he turned back heading down the stairs as they continued to make their way to the event.

"What book?" Amelia whispered.

"I was thinking about my Animorph powers," William whispered quietly back to Amelia.

"Oh," she said as she nodded her head not asking any more questions.

That was when the group had finally reached the bottom of the stairs. Felix pushed open the doors and what laid in front of them was what can only be described was an open room nightclub. The place wasn't as dark as a regular nightclub but the vibe was still there. There were groups upon groups of people in their own gang uniform designs milling around talking to people that looked to be alone. People were laughing and dancing to the music that was being played. There were bar areas and other various areas. A little farther in the back there were two people fighting and a crowd of people had gathered around. There was a booth area that looked like they were taking bets.

"Woah," Amelia said in awe. "I could get used to this lifestyle."

Felix stopped and turned to face the group. "Welcome to the underground fighting club!" He said while raising his hands out like he owned the place and was showing his group of friends. "Now let's get going. We have work to do."
