Emma face was already pale, but when she saw Alex, it became paler.
"Long time no see, cousin" Alex smiled on seeing her.
Whenever she wanted to run, someone else would show up out of nowhere.
"How....how did you find me? When did you return?" She asked confused.
"Get in, and I'll answer all your questions...you can't walk alone this late night" Alex replied.
He was right, she had no choice but to get in before any of the hospital staff saw her.
"I just returned from the airport for Sam's birthday, she insisted I come and I wasn't that busy. Despite the rain, I made it here" he said, while driving.
"Why didn't you go straight to the house?" She asked.
"I was on my way there, then I saw you...and couldn't just leave you" he replied. He was hinting at something.
The last time Emma saw this so called cousin, was before she left the house. She had a secret crush on him and even confessed to him...but he turned her down.
They weren't real cousins, he was her stepmother's nephew, since he was a cousin to Sam and she was Emma's sister, he decided to call her cousin as well.
Emma developed feelings for him, she liked him..but he turned her down...but when he left, life hit her hard. It wasn't a crush, she was just grateful to him for taking care of her when no one else was. She'd seen it the wrong way, and that gratefulness kept on disappearing over the years...Draken was the one she truly loved.
"Thank you cousin Alex," she said, emphasizing the word cousin.
"Last time I remember, you didn't like calling me cousin, you wanted something else" he replied to her,
Was he trying to remind her how she used to like him?
"Oh. I was young and naive then, I don't think the same way anymore, you're my cousin and that won't change"
Her words hurt Alex a little.
Had he come back expecting Emma to still like him, did he want to be more than just her cousin?
"Uhm, I'll get off on the next turn...you can go on ahead home" Emma didn't even want to be with him any longer.
"Why, I thought we're heading home together?" Alex asked surprised.
"I no longer stay there. You will find out soon enough, your aunt and Sam will tell you everything" she replied before Alex stopped the car.
"Thanks for the ride cousin, don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Take care" Emma said before she got off and walked away.
Alex watched as Emma walked away, yes he'd come back for Sam's party...but Emma was the biggest reason as to why he'd come back.
All he had to do was wait for the right time, he drove away from there.

"Hi uhm Ruby, I'm sorry for ditching out on you like that," Emma was on the phone.
"I still didn't get why you left, and why you missed the opportunity to get to know Draken Hunt" she replied..so excited.
"It's a long story, I'll explain it to you, are you home already?" She asked.
"Yes,why are you asking?" Ruby replied.
"I'm at your door step," she said before hanging up.
Ruby opened the door for her and let her in, there was no way she was going back to the house full of only her memories with Draken.
"Emma, you seriously have to tell me what's going on with you....I don't understand you these days" Ruby said after taking a good look at her.
She was such a mess. She was all pale like she was sick, her eyes were swollen like she had been crying, she wasn't the same lively Emma like before.
"I'll tell you...but can I stay here for a few days with you, I just need someone to comfort me..and your all I have" Emma's voice was full of sadness.
"Your welcome to stay here for as long as you want Em, my house is your house to" she replied, hugging her.
Emma cried her eyes out, she'd been through so much, how was she going to move on with a broken heart and without Draken.

~~~AT THE DAVE MANSION~~~~
All the guests had left, it was just the Hunts and the Daves.
"Happy birthday Samantha, it was great hosting us tonight...too bad, Draken should be here, but as you know he must be busy with the company" His mom said.
She had no idea where he was but thought he was at Ouracle, especially after Erick and Shaun covered up for him.
"It's fine, auntie, I mean he's just returned and he's handling the company very well" Sam replied, faking a smile.
"Mom, are you serious, it's close to midnight. .that little brat must be with some woman out there" David remarked, smirking while looking at Sam.
He was mocking her.
"Don't talk about your brother like that, he's doing something your dad,and not even you can do" his mom defended him.
"Whatever you say mom, I'm just looking forward to the day he'll make Sam your daughter in law, it's so clear he's not interested in marriage" Davide meant what he said, although it came out as a joke.
"He will have to get interest, I don't want any other daughter in law as his wife but Samantha" their mom still insisted, but the truth was obvious.
"Mom, don't get your hopes so high, come on..let me drive you home" David said...before they said goodbye to the Daves and left.
They had just left and then Alex arrived.
"Cousin Alex?!!" Samantha shouted in surprise.
"Happy birthday Sam," Alex hugged her.
"I'm so glad you made it."
"I had to, and look I got your favourite flowers for this special occasion..." Alex said, showing her the bouquet of flowers he'd brought, but the smile on Sam's face vanished right away.
"What's wrong? Don't you like them?" He asked.
"Alex, those are jasmines, Emma's favourite flowers, mine are lillies" she replied.
He was thinking about Emma too?
"I thought you were the one who liked these.....sorry, my mistake" Alex apologized.
Sam had heard enough about Emma, now her own long lost biological cousin was also trapped by Emma.
"It's okay, you can still make it up to me" Sam replied, with her voice hinting anger.
"Ok, tell me whatever it is you want! I'll get it for you" Alex said.
"Get for me Emma's shares in Dave Corp" she firmly replied.
"What??"
Dave Corp belonged to Emma's mother, she had way more shares than her dad, and Samantha. After her mom's death, her shares were transferred to Emma.
"Can you do it or not, that's the only thing I want" Sam was hell bent on getting rid of Emma, as soon as possible or else, she was going to take everything away from her. This was now war and she had to win.
"Sam, I can't do that!" Alex refused.
"Why, I'm your real cousin, not her... why do you care so much about her anyway?" Sam wondered.
"Your both my little cousins...I don't want to see you both fighting" Alex replied.
"Too late. You're too late to stop this, I'll get whatever I want with or without your help dearest cousin" Samantha said before storming off.
How could he tell her that he liked Emma, and the main reason he came back was for her, still hoping she liked him so they could be together.
But Sam was right about one thing, he was too late.
