Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 : inside outside

The night after self-study, when students should be sound asleep… but…

"Hus! Hus!" The sound of gasping breaths, like an adult but not quite, was the sound of a small child sleeping on a makeshift raft near the sea. The sound of the waves breaking on the shore made it seem like she was on an island. The little girl tried to open her eyes but couldn't and passed out. However, when she opened her eyes again, we saw that little girl sitting and stroking a cat. Her clothes looked slightly more decent than before. She was protecting the cat from some children who were throwing rocks and kicking the stray animal. Then, another girl came and chased those children away, whipping them with a switch. This girl found the cat-protecting girl and offered her a hand, smiling. Their faces were blurry; only the sound of their breathing, mouths, and noses were clear. The little girl reached out her hand to the cat-protecting girl and said, "Get up!" The girl stood up, her hand still held by the other, and was instantly pulled into a hug. Suddenly, the girl hugging her stabbed the cat-protecting girl with a knife!

"Erk!" The cat-protecting girl, whose face remained a mystery (only her nose and mouth were visible), bled from her mouth from the stabbing. Yet, she smiled as if satisfied before closing her eyes and dying.

The sound of the alarm clock went off, waking up Hana, who had been smiling as if she had a pleasant dream. She went to clean up, take a shower, get dressed, and go downstairs for breakfast. She prepared breakfast while using her phone, chatting with someone and smiling. She never goes to school in the morning, preferring to stay home and play with the three or four cats she keeps. She looks very happy! She then received a phone call from Kan, asking if Hana would go to school with her in the morning. Hana smiled, saying she definitely wanted to spend more time with Kan.

Hana came out and saw kan waiting for her outside her house. Kan complimented her on how big her house was. Hana laughed, saying kan and Siv siv could come visit anytime, as her parents are rarely home; they work and only come back once in a long while. Kan was surprised to hear this. She held Hana's hand and apologized for the past, but Hana told her not to talk about sad things in the morning, only happy ones. The two walked together to the bus stop, spending time together looking at the morning scenery along the way.

Kan suddenly exclaimed, "Ah! Is that tan? Why is he riding a big motorcycle and wearing a helmet lake …?" She quickly took out her phone to take a photo as evidence. Hana saw her actions, turned to kan, and asked, "Did both of you have a relationship or something?" kan denied it, saying she was just suspicious of tan as the person who helped him before. She felt like it was definitely him. Hana rested her hand on her chin, looking at kan, wanting to know more. Hana's smile seemed to soften kan, who recounted the time she met the man in a black suit and black helmet when his motorbike fell, and he gave her an umbrella and a raincoat. She described her fear and how she thought that person was dangerous. Kan seemed to have a negative perception of him. Hana burst out laughing this early in the morning. Kan then explained her suspicion about Tan to Hana, sharing the details that made her suspect Tan was that person, and asked for Hana's opinion on whether her suspicions were correct.? Hana smiled back, "Yes, what else are you thinking?" This question made kan blush and she quickly retorted, pinching Hana's face, "I know exactly what you're thinking!" kan added that first she had thought about apologizing to him for thinking badly of him, but only in her heart. She felt excited knowing he wasn't as bad as she thought. But upon realizing that person was tan, she shook her head and refused to can't say anything else; it wasn't what kan had expected! Hana asked why kan was filming the video. Kan replied, "To catch him in the act of lying and diverting my attention! Do you know when I asked him, he pretended not to know, and every time I meet him, he's always rude to me!" Hana laughed again, seeing kan describe the situation as if she wanted to tear him apart if possible. Diverting the topic, kan took out the video and asked Hana to look at it, adding that she recognized the person who threw the ball at their classroom window it was San's friend, Dan. Hana watched and confirmed that the video showed Dan throwing the ball, but the camera moved too fast to tell if the window broke or not. Kan insisted that the window broke, as she had seen it. Hana asked kan what she thought about Dan, being San's "beloved friend." kan retorted, "Beloved? San is just a school friend!" Hana nodded, pretending to believe her for now. Kan shared more of her thoughts, and Hana advised kan to continue investigating, seeing that Kan wanted to help and find out about Dan. Kan took out the photo Liv had sent her. The two looked at it together, seemingly deep in thought. Hana suggested the window had a problem and told kan to ask the teacher about the window glass now.

At school, the agricultural teacher assigned students to clean the school grounds. Nearby, a broken window pane was placed upright behind the trash area. Chay was being punished by the teacher to weed the area alone because he violated school rules dyed hair, uncut, and skipped classes often. While he was weeding alone (the other students were picking up trash elsewhere), a Hav's group member from Grade 11 approached Chay, threatening, "Don't you dare tell anyone what you saw!" Chay stood up, walked closer to him, and threatened him back, asking if he was doing this because Hav ordered it. The guy didn't answer but patted his shoulder, just telling him to pretend he knew nothing. Just then, kan ran up, out of breath, with Hana and asked, "Pretend you know nothing about what?" She walked in and pulled the guy's collar, demanding he tell her the truth immediately! Kan's action angered him greatly, but he tried to walk away. Kan added a question that made him freeze and get even angrier: "Are you sure you're just following your leader's orders?" The guy moved to slap kan, but Chay, who was watching, caught his hand and pushed him. The two almost fought, but Hana threatened to tell the teacher! The guy left, glaring at Chay.

At that moment, kan eagerly spoke, "This is the window! They haven't thrown it away or destroyed it yet!" Hana went to look, while kan went to thank Chay, who was continuing to weed. She asked, "What did he threaten you about?" Chay looked at her, laughed, and said kan acted like a bully herself! She asked again. He said if kan and Hana wanted him to tell, they had to help him weed and buy him food! Hana immediately agreed, so kan had no choice but to agree too. The three weeded together. Kaan casually asked, "Where are your friends? Why don't they help you?" Chay told kan not to ask too many questions.

Meanwhile, Sara's group walked by, with tuna carrying their belongings. Mew asked Lin to look and see is that was Lin's boyfriend, asking what he was doing. Lin looked and saw her boyfriend. Without hesitation, she walked up and saw kan again, immediately pushing kan down. Kan didn't stay still and pushed her back. Lin was furious with kan and asked Chay why he was with "these people." Sara interjected, saying, "They're not 'these people,' that's rude to the senior Hana!" Hana smiled and told Lin not to push people without reason next time, because kan was here to investigate. Tuna went to help brush off kan, who was dirty. Sara called Tuna back and told Lin to deal with kan later. They walked away.

When they reached their spot, Sara pretended to talk to make Lin angrier at kan, then spoke about Hana, saying she was now with kan, who was flirting with Lin's boyfriend! Lin said, "Hana is helping kan find the person who broke the window!" Sara said, "Helping? It looks like she doesn't want to help!" This ambiguous phrase made everyone wonder. Before sending tuna back to her class, Sara told tuna to write down her mistake for daring to talk to and help kan, and to write 100 times 'I'm sorry' when she finished. Tuna reluctantly showed she accepted the punishment, looking pitiful. As the others left, her demeanor immediately returned to normal. Then, she spoke to someone whose face was not visible, only their sneakers, which looked similar to those had seen on someone else before. She told them to proceed with the plan! The person agreed .

When it was time for Chay's class, he went to study, while Hana and kan continued to inspect the glass window, Hana took many detailed photos. Kan looked at her, seemingly lost in Hana's seriousness!

"Do you think it was only a ball?" This question puzzled kan, but she confidently answered it was a ball. Even if the video wasn't 100% conclusive, at least 40% showed it was a ball thrown by Dan. Hana pointed out, "But it's not certain it broke; at least it was cracked. See!" She beckoned kan closer to inspect the glass, which showed about 40% of the surface area was left with glass residue. Kan looked and understood Hana's point. They were checking the fracture lines. Hana continued, "Look closely, the fracture lines mostly spread outwards, covering the small fracture lines that point inwards. No one noticed those small lines. So, I think someone did something to the glass from the inside." kan quickly understood what she needed to do: save the glass and go inspect the area near the classroom to see if any glass fragments remained. Hana and kan searched together and found some remnants that had been missed during cleaning. Looking at the marks, it was even clearer. Both looked at the small awning outside the classroom window, wondering is anyone had cleaned that area?. The two seemed to think alike. The bell rang! It was time to meet Chay. Kan suddenly saw someone. She told Hana to go meet Chay first, as she had something to do for a moment. Hana didn't refuse.

Kan followed the Grade 11-C student who Hav had kicked out of the classroom earlier. She approached him when he was alone, going straight to the point: "Did your boss beat you because of the stolen exam papers?" He immediately denied it and insisted his "big brother" wasn't that kind of person! Kan was disappointed. He was beaten this badly and was still defending him? The guy said it was a private family matter and asked the senior to stay out of it. He left. Kan asked his name, but he wouldn't tell, leaving kan to mutter that he seemed to be the only one who looked somewhat decent and gentle. She turned around and bumped into someone's chest. The person spoke, saying his name was vud. She stumbled backward, surprised that he was standing there, or knew about her question. He grabbed kan's ankle and said, "I could break this ankle right now if I wanted to. But it's too bad. So, I hope the senior stops meddling in other people's business." Saying this, he walked past kan, who was still on the ground. Kan silently cursed him as a rude, ill-mannered nuisance.

When she returned, Chay had just finished talking. Hana told her the answer she got: Chay and his group had seen Dan throwing the ball! And he heard the subordinates talking about setting Dan up, to make San see that Dan got into trouble because of San. She asked Chay if he knew who they were. Chay said he didn't know their names, only that someone was giving orders to those subordinates. Kaan thought to herself: based on what San said, it was someone named Pud. But she didn't know where to find him. On the other hand, those subordinates were led by Hav. Hav was definitely the one giving orders! Hana suggested, "We won't get answers just by asking. It's better to look for something new." kan responded, "It would be better if we could find both, Hana!" Hana said, "Okay, then." But she didn't sound very happy, though she pretended to be happy so Kaan wouldn't worry.

The next day, the class president came and unlocked the classroom. Kan quickly went to check the awning near the window, finding it was already cleaned! Hana went to ask lida who cleaned the outside awnin?. Lida replied, "Maybe the repairman?" kan and Hana were silent, knowing that someone must have broken it from the inside. Kan tried to figure out why she didn't know since she was in the class.

Hana told kan to take a break from thinking and go talk to Siv siv, who looked gloomy! Even though kan asked, she insisted it wasn't a love problem! But actually, it was a love problem; Siv siv just wouldn't open up, making kan worry.

Kab planned to meet Pud herself because no one wanted to tell her, and she didn't want San to know. She noticed that Hav's subordinates were always being punished. She went to block vud again to ask about Pud, but vud wouldn't tell. She decided to speak frankly, even if she didn't know if it would work: I wanted to meet someone named Pud, and it looked like Hav was also looking for him too? Was it because Hav wanted to deal with him for daring to pay his subordinates to cause trouble? Vud was surprised and told her not to just make things up. Without waiting, she showed him the picture of the subordinates counting money and a video clip of them talking, as if someone was giving orders. (She got these from Chay, who sent them to Hana, but she didn't mention Chay gave them). Vud asked where she got it, but kan didn't answer, treating him the same way he treated her! She continued, "Hav didn't order his subordinates to do this, so he's probably angry that someone dared to damage his reputation if people found out. And he told vud to find him, but vud couldn't find him, so he got kicked out that day! And those subordinates have to pay for the mistake. So, Wut and I have the same goal: to find him!"

Vud seemed quiet and thoughtful, then walked away without saying anything. Kan just shouted that she would wait for his answer!

She went to her normal evening job. Meanwhile, we see Hana walking along the road and accidentally seeing her ex-boyfriend, Kim, smoking and talking with a man whom San and kan know as Pud. But did Hana not know?, or did she pretend not to know? She called Siv siv . A moment later, Siv siv arrived. Just then, Hana walked down a side street. Siv Siv was confused but followed, thinking Hana wanted to tell her something. But Siv siv stopped short. She softly said, "Does she know?" At that moment, Hana pretended to want to turn onto another path, acting as if she hadn't seen them. Siv siv tried to divert her attention so she wouldn't see Kim engrossed in conversation, but Kim looked up and saw Hana. He rushed over and grabbed Hana's hand!while that also look at siv Siv face,Hana was shocked but quickly regained her composure, agreeing to talk. Siv siv mediated, but Siv siv's face seemed to be hiding something. Hana seemed to be good at communicating and very charming. When Kim asked to get back together, she said she would, but Kim shouldn't be close to the girl I don't like before that she was a classmate of Kim's. Kim was happy and held her hand. Siv siv was stunned and congratulated them unenthusiastically. She then excused herself to the restroom. When they were alone, Hana asked, "Who were you talking to earlier? By just got back together,He honestly said an acquaintance. Hana said, "Call him over. I want Siv siv to see if he's suitable for her." Kim hesitated a bit, but relented. After persuading him, he called Pud over. When Pud arrived, Hana smiled, saying he was difficult to convince! Then, she introduced them when Siv siv returned. Siv siv asked Hana, and Hana told her the situation. While they were chatting and laughing, Siv siv seemed to be trying hard to get along and talk with Pud, to prevent Hana from noticing her unhappiness. Just then, Pud received a phone call from one of Hav's subordinates. He went outside to talk, taking a cigarette to smoke. Talking in the quiet outside, he learned that a girl was investigating him and also wanted to meet him. Pud said he would give her the information "via the wind" tomorrow! He then called Dan. Dan was studying at home. He hesitated to answer. His father asked is something was wrong since he wasn't answering.

Dan quickly answered and agreed to do what Pud threatened: confess tomorrow that he was the one who did it, or else San would be affected! Dan's father wondered why Lay and Phat didn't want to talk to me at all; were you all upset each other? Dan, lost in thought, didn't answer! , pud on the other hand, finished his call and cigarette. When he walked back in, he saw Hana sitting and smoking. He didn't know how much she had heard. She stood up and offered the cigarette she was smoking to Pud. He was busy wondering if she heard anything he said. Nevertheless, Hana brought the cigarette to his mouth. He took a drag. Hana walked into the store, saying, "Smoking is bad for your health. Don't smoke anymore!" Hana knew everything he said. She came back, took her phone (which she had placed on the table) and put it in her bag, then excused herself to leave first. On the way, Hana sighed heavily. Siv siv suddenly asked why Hana agreed to get back with Kim. Hana didn't answer but said she had called Siv siv because she wanted to discuss something, and accidentally ran into them. They walked and talked. Hana said she was planning to throw a birthday party for Kaan on the school's Sangkranta day. What did Siew Siew think? This question snapped Siv siv out of her thoughts, and she smiled, agreeing to cooperate and keep it a secret from Kan. The two parted ways. In fact, when Hana got home, she called kan and told her she had lied to Siv siv about kan's birthday. In fact, she wanted kan to help her because on songkran day at school Siv siv's real birthday! No one know .So, we should plan a surprise for her. Kan agreed but suddenly asked about the video Chay took; why did he agree to give it to Hana? Hana replied, "Because I'm beautiful and good at talking, that's why!" That night, they discussed the surprise plan for Sv siv, but they didn't forget to study either.
