Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: The Serpent’s Salvation and the Girls of the Forest

A soft chime echoed in Roy's mind while he was reviewing potion blueprints inside his study.

[System Task Generated]Mission: Find Nagini and cure her of the blood curse.Reward: Bloodline Improvement Card ×1**Talent Enhancement Card ×2

Roy froze. The system—dormant since his alchemy training—had finally awakened. A slow smile crossed his lips.

"Nagini… the cursed one bound to Voldemort's fate," he murmured. "Interesting."

Journey to Albania

That evening, Roy walked into the courtyard where a massive shadow stretched beneath the moon. A majestic dragon rested there, her sapphire eyes glowing softly.

"Dvalin," Roy called gently.

The dragon—now fully grown, scales gleaming like tempered steel—lowered her head. She'd grown fond of Roy's pocket dimension, a paradise of sky, mountains, and endless mana streams.

"We're heading to Albania. There's someone I must save."

Dvalin let out a low, approving roar before spreading her wings. Moments later, they soared through the night sky, the clouds parting under her immense form.

The Cursed Serpent

For two days, Roy searched the shadowed heart of the Albanian Forest, guided only by faint traces of dark magic. At last, he found her—a colossal snake with dull emerald scales and sorrowful eyes.

"Nagini," Roy whispered in Parseltongue, his voice calm and kind."I can cure you."

The serpent blinked, surprised that he could speak her tongue. With his Animal Affinity, Roy gently approached and stroked her scarred head. Then, with a wave of his hand, he opened a portal to his pocket dimension.

"Rest there. It's safe."

Nagini vanished in a shimmer of gold light.

Just as Roy turned to leave, a scream pierced the forest. Three voices—young, terrified, and close.

The Fire of Ryūjin Jakka

Roy ran toward the sound and emerged into a clearing lit by dying firelight. Five men surrounded three bound girls—two around his age, one younger. Three were werewolves; two were dark wizards wielding wands laced with blood charms.

Without hesitation, Roy reached into his system storage and drew his Zanpakutō, Ryūjin Jakka.

"Reduce all creation to ashes," he whispered.

The blade ignited with divine fire. In an instant, the clearing became an inferno. The attackers didn't even have time to scream before they turned to ash. The flames died just as quickly, leaving behind unburned earth and trembling silence.

Roy knelt beside the three girls, gently cutting their bindings. He handed them water and small chocolate bars from his satchel.

"You're safe now," he said softly. "Breathe."

The oldest girl steadied herself first.

"I'm… Daphne Greengrass. This is my sister, Astoria. And she's Cassandra Vole. Thank you… for saving us."

Roy gave a polite nod.

"Roy Valvas."

All three gasped. The Valvas name had become legendary after the Lestrange incident—both feared and respected.

"You… you're that Valvas?" Daphne asked, eyes wide.

Roy only smiled.

"Let's just say I dislike injustice."

Flight on Dvalin

Moments later, a shadow descended as Dvalin appeared, her vast wings stirring the forest air. The three girls froze in awe.

"She's… beautiful," Astoria whispered."And powerful," Cassandra added in awe.

"Come," Roy said. "Let's go home."

The girls climbed onto Dvalin's back, clutching the dragon's scales as she lifted into the moonlight. Within minutes, the vast Valvas Mansion—rebuilt upon the ruins of Lestrange's old estate—came into view.

At the Valvas Mansion

As they landed, Roy's household awaited: Rem, Ram, Grayfia, Albedo, Bela White, and Venelana Bael. Their eyes widened at the sight of the exhausted children.

"Prepare food and hot tea," Roy ordered softly.

After a warm meal and comforting chatter, Roy explained everything that had happened. The women's faces darkened in anger at the mention of the werewolves and dark wizards.

Soon, letters were dispatched to the Greengrass and Vole families. Within the hour, both families arrived—pale with worry but overwhelmed with relief.

Roy greeted them personally, leading them to the dining hall where their daughters recounted how he had saved them. Gratitude filled the room.

"We owe you a debt we can never repay, Lord Valvas," Mrs. Greengrass said tearfully.

Then, with teasing smiles, the mothers added:

"It seems our daughters were rescued by a prince tonight."

Daphne, Astoria, and Cassandra all turned red, hiding behind their teacups, which made everyone laugh—including Roy himself.

A Quiet Smile

Later that night, as the families departed and peace returned to the mansion, Roy stepped onto the balcony, gazing up at the stars.

"Nagini is safe. The girls are home. Another piece of fate corrected."

The system chimed again.

[Task Complete]Rewards Granted.

Roy felt a warm pulse in his blood—a quiet surge of new power.

"The path forward is long," he whispered. "But I will walk it… as Valvas."

Dvalin's shadow passed above him, a silent guardian under the moonlight.
