Just when Sigurd was in a mood of enjoyment, he suddenly felt the presence of someone spying. Without giving them a chance, he disappeared from the council.
Frigga saw Sigurd disappear and knew something was happening. Without hesitation, she looked toward the Vanir warriors.
"Everyone, lockdown the Vanir city! If anyone tries to break out, they are to be killed on the spot."
Frigga's words held a killing intent that could be heard all over the Vanir royal city.
Freyr instantly knew there was a spy in the royal court room.
"Deploy every wizard and warrior from the royal guard! Conduct a carpet search of the whole city."
At the same time, Frigga released her magic, searching for Sigurd. She felt he was at the watchtower. Knowing he had caught someone, she left the meeting and moved toward it.
Sigurd looked at the person whose appearance had been magically altered to look like a Vanir citizen. He used his own magic to restore the person's true form. Looking at him, Sigurd knew it was a Dark Elf.
Using his space power, Sigurd made the man float in front of him, confining him. He then moved toward his sister-in-law. Although Frigga was a powerful magician, he still didn't want to take any risks.
Sigurd walked toward Frigga with a serious face. The fact that the Dark Elves dared to spy when Asgard's future queen and a young prince were present certainly made him furious and felt like a challenge to his authority.
Frigga looked at Sigurd's serious face; she didn't know what had happened, which also made her worried.
"Sigurd, what happened? Why are you so serious? Did something happen to you?"
Sigurd shook his head, knowing she cared for him as her own brother.
"Nothing happened, Sister-in-law. It's just that some ants don't know their place."
As he spoke, he looked at the floating person and then toward the vast Vanir royal city.
"Listen, Malekith's dogs of Dark Elves! Whoever you are, I don't care, but you shouldn't spy on Asgardians, or else I won't mind destroying your entire race. Until now, I didn't care, but you have started to spy on my family. Let this be a warning for your leader: using the Aether as power won't make him invincible in the Nine Realms.
If I ever hear of Dark Elf involvement in anything related to Asgard, I will personally descend on Svartalfheim with the Asgardian army to show him what war really looks like."
As Sigurd spoke, the captured Dark Elf floated to the top of Vanir city. In the next second, thousands of space blades began to pierce the Dark Elf's body nonstop. When no life was left in the spy's body, it burst open without warning, but the blood was confined in space and did not spill onto the city.
Sigurd waved his hand, and the pool of blood and body parts were thrown out into the void.
"Next time, it won't be just one."
Having finished speaking, Sigurd went to Frigga and then spoke to King Freyr.
"King Freyr, you may let the city resume its normal activities. Let those dogs return to their owner and inform him of the consequences of targeting Asgard."
Frigga looked at Sigurd. It was the first time she had seen this different side of him, where he didn't care about lives when it came to danger involving his family.
She sighed, now understanding why Odin always said Sigurd's protective instinct toward his family was even stronger than his own.
"Sigurd, let's go back to Asgard. Father will bring Heimdall with him for the competition."
"King Freyr, thank you for your hospitality, and sorry for the mess. As an apology, I will personally give you a weapon to defend the city, made by the Dwarven King, once its manufacturing is complete."
King Freyr, who was ready to refuse, stopped upon hearing Sigurd's words. After all, a defensive weapon of Sky-Father level, with power to match, was very rare and expensive; he couldn't say no.
Frigga looked at her father's dilemma and knew she had to say something.
"Okay, Sigurd has spoken, so you don't need to worry about your internal dilemma. You had better think about increasing your security levels."
Sigurd stood together with Frigga.
"Bifrost."
Looking at their disappearing figures, King Freyr looked at his sister.
"I think we may have made the correct decision to marry Frigga to Odin. Looking at his brother, very few people get brothers like him, who will kill anyone who offends their family.
All of Odin's brothers are the same. They died to save him, and this one is definitely ruthless. He will kill anyone who targets his family."
Freya looked at her brother's expression.
"Don't even think I will kill anyone just to satisfy your ego that you also have a protective sister."
King Freyr heard his sister's words and couldn't help but twitch his face.
"Okay, you only know how to fight with me. I must go and ask our father for another brother or sister. At least they would care more about their big brother."
The Vanir council elders looked at their King and his sister but couldn't say a word. The two of them were like Odin's brothers; King Freyr and Freya fought when they were together, but if anyone targeted either of them, they stood united.
They could only sigh.
At the same time, in Dark Elf territory...
Malekith, in his base spaceship, watched the video sent by his spy in Vanir. He saw Sigurd walking with the Dark Elf confined in a space of his creation. As he played the video further, he heard words he never expected anyone to know.
"Aether won't make him invincible."
Malekith, who had been expressionless throughout, now looked surprised. He turned his head toward his right-hand man.
"Who is the traitor in our group? How does Asgard even know about the Aether?"
The Dark Elves looked at Malekith nervously.
"My Lord, I don't think anyone would dare spy on our core people. We used the Aether to verify if they were spies from other races. We even killed everyone else who knew about the Aether. It is possible that before we killed the previous spies, they informed Asgard about it."
Another spoke.
"My Lord, even if they know we have the Aether, they never got a chance to learn about the power it wields, so we don't have to worry. The Asgardians are just ignorant, reliving their past victories."
Malekith looked at the screen, thinking that might be possible, but his eyes still lingered on the paused image of Sigurd.
"Fine. For now, stop sending spies to the other races in the Nine Realms. Our main goal should be to conquer the Dark Elf clans and unite them under one command. Kraw the Uncontrollable is no longer suitable to lead our people."
Malekith looked toward the map of the Dark Elf clans.
"He can't even defeat the Trolls, whom he has been fighting for decades. My whole clan died in the war, but the worthless king still doesn't know how to fight."
His eyes lingered on the image of Sigurd. Malekith's eyes beamed with the fire of war.
"After we conquer the Trolls, we will look for allies to show Asgard that we are not something they can just scare off with their old prestige."
