Stomp! Stomp! Stomp!
The sound of footsteps echoed throughout the hallway as he hurriedly climbed the stairs of the two-story house.
Whynne reached the top of the stairs with a torn piece of bread on his hand, his chest heaving slightly from extortion. He quickly pushed the door open and slammed it shut behind him.
Thud!
The loud thud echoed through the room.
He bent over stretching his arms, he pulled out a classy antique chest. Whynne looked around to make sure no one was looking, once he confirmed it, he began to open the chest.
"Haa!, uhm…you almost scared me there for a sec."
He exclaimed, his heart racing.
The slime jumped up and down, with it's gooey and transparent body, seemingly energetic.
He had grown accustomed to the slime's antics, but moments like these still caught him off guard. Whynne reached out a hand, letting the slime ooze its way on his fingers it was a unusual feeling, almost therapeutic.
The slime began to play with body, shape shifting into various shapes.
*Fascinating!*
He got up on his feet.
"Okay, like we practiced, okay now, turn into a ball."
He commanded.
The slime promptly turned into a perfect sphere, rolling slightly on the floor.
"Now, give me a squared!"
The slime morphed again, flattening into a precise square shape with defined ages.
"Let's take it up a notch, give me a rod!"
The slime elongated into a slander rod shape, quivering slightly at the tip.
"Good!, Now jump!"
The slime sprang into action, bouncing up and down.
"Now roll!"
The slime obliged, rolling from side to side with mermorizing fluidity.
"Well done."
He clapped his hands in satisfaction, then placed the piece of bread on the floor. The slime wasted no time, it sprang on top of the bread and absorbed it. Watching the process Whynne was a bit shaken, he hadn't gotten used to it. It was quite fascinating watching the bread slowly being digested.
He sank on the floor, crossing his legs in a comfortable lotus position, facing towards the slime. Whynne gently patted the slime.
"What should I name you…?"
*I actually found this little guy in a forest when I escaped the house to explore the village he's been following me ever since. I really have been reincarnated, from what I learned this past month, this world is completely different from my own specifically in the 16th century. It seems I'm a commoner, this world is divided into classes from Surfer, Commoner, Nobility, Dukedom than finally Royalty. I'm currently in a far away village in the boonies called Midwinter, it's quite the rural place. I've taken over the body of Taylor Vonthorne a ten year old boy, I still have no clue of how I ended up in his body. The lovely looking woman whose been taking care of me is my mother Lalia VonThorne it just the two of us living together she took the father's last name VonFoster.*
"Sigh!"
*According to my memories, the father left shortly after Taylo… I suppose, I was born; I guess even in this world deadbeat dads exist. For some reason, Lalia still talks about him fondly, it's seems he left quite the lasting impression on her. However there is a locked study seemingly left behind. No one's allowed to enter it-not even Lalia. Sometimes I struggle with intrusive thoughts about breaking in and taking a sneak peek inside, but ultimately dismiss these thoughts!*
"Sigh!"
*The owner of this body I now inhabit (Fancy words for stole.) fell ill with a disease called Eternal slumber - A rare kind of disease that that puts a person to sleep slowly draining their life force away - This body was able to survive this long thanks to a potion - A rare type of medicine - The potion provided nutrition to the body while it was asleep for two whole years. I'm guessing the disease is what led to the original owner's decline. The village doctor said it was a miracle that I woke up, the Eternal slumber disease had no cure. Also I should be able to stop taking the potion when the month is over which is today. Good news considering it tastes bitter as hell!*
"Yuck!"
He spat on the floor with disgust.
*However Lalia has been overly protective over the last month, I'm not even allowed t go beyond the yard. I've been reading books just to pass the time there doesn't seem to be anything related to magic, there is one book but it's about a fairytale. [The Hero's Ascent] It's a book about the legendary hero who changed the world and brought a new era. But the person who gave said It's just a fairy tale. But the potion does sound like magic, but I guess that. Kind of medicine is normal here. When I asked Lalia about magic she just dismissed it as just a fairy tale, so much for learning magic.*
"Damnit, why did I get my hopes up."
*Although the excitement has initially fade, I guess I'll just find a way back home. It's something I'll figure out as time passes I suppose.*
"Dear, I'm done with the laundry! Come help me hang the clothes!"
"Ugh!"
"Okay mom, I'll be right there!"
He quickly put the slime back on the antique chest and attanded to his mother.
