Before little Ruven could think of an answer to give, someone entered the room.
It was the knight who saved Ruven.
"Good evening doctor, can I speak to the boy? It's official business from the royal captial of Vrontí."
The doctor was unsure of that, but the knight's armor had the symbol of the kingdom on it. One thing peculiar about the knight is that the armor resembled that of a Royal Guard's. This ranked the knight higher than anyone, so the doctor had to give them room.
The door gets shut as the doctor leaves, and the knight starts asking his questions.
"Little boy, what's your name? you were in a pretty rough condition when you were brought here, how are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling better, but the wound on my back still hurts a lot, still it's a lot better than yesterday, thank you Mr.Knight. My name is Ruven Ryder."
"I see... Anyways Ruven. Can you explain to me what happened there? I am not trying to scare you, but this is a matter of concern of the kingdom."
It's hard to explain, but here's how it went
*Ruven explains the entire story of how he ended up in that situation*
"I see, that must have been tough on you. But from what you said, I've noticed that the village where you come from isn't supposed to have thunderstorms. You see, the region your Village is at lies near what could be called a mythical city of VoltenCrowns. I'm sure you know what a VoltenCrown is, right Ruven?"
"Yeah, my grandmother used to tell me stories about them, they seem like heroes."
i deliberately didn't tell him that I was a VoltenCrown as well, who knows what he'll do to me. Although I owe him my life, I literally didn't want to owe him my life.
"They were, probably still are, but that's beside the point. The village where you live at is surrounded by tall mountains which block the monsoon winds and clouds, it infact redirects the clouds to the 'mythical city' or atleast it's supposed to. If your Village got striked down by a bolt of lightning as you say, then that means it was either done by a strong individual. Of course that does include the fact that it may have been a natural cause, but I'd like to investigate further before we come to any conclusion. Thank you Ruven, you have been a great help. Rest now, and when you're well rested we'll decide what can be done for you."
saying this, the knight was about to exit the room. But Ruven yelled and asked
"Wait! Sir! Can you tell me your name too?"
"My apologies Ruven, my name is Jian."
"Thank you Mr. Jian, I'll never forget you!"
Jian then proceeded to leave the room, while doing so he had a smile on his face which couldn't be seen because of his helmet.
Near the door, the doctor was present, as if he was eavesdropping. The doctor got startled and tried to run, but Jian stopped him.
"Eavesdropping eh? seems like I'll have to take you to the royal prison."
"Oh come on Jian, let me go will ya, it's not like I can tell anyone you know. That's against a doctor's morals, considering you were my patient as well."
"That's true. So tell me Ray, did you notice it too? about that boy."
"Yeah, I have my suspicions but I'm not too sure. I was about to ask him but then you entered. But my suspicions have been almost confirmed since he needed VoltenCrown blood."
"I see. Our first priority is to find him a family, I doubt he'll be able to fit in with the city life, I'll trust that you can do something for him."
"Really? you're pushing it on me again? you haven't changed at all. Sure, I'll see what I can do."
With these words, Jian went away on his travel to the Royal Capital with the information he just got, The doctor was going to get something to eat for himself and for Ruven. Meanwhile Ruven was trying to remember what he could from the nights before.
When he remembered his parents, or the thought of them being dead. Ruven felt a sad rage welling up in his body. But he suppressed those feelings with the thoughts that they might be alive. But Ruven didn't notice that little sparks of lightning were appearing around him.
Just as they started to form, The doctor came back into the room and saw the electrifying sight. That's when his suspicions became the truth. Ruven was a VoltenCrown.

"Young Ruven, fret not, I know that you're a VoltenCrown, I can see your ability manifesting right now. The truth is, I too am a VoltenCrown."

"How? we aren't allowed to leave our villages, so how do you exist in the human societies?"
"Well, Ruven, how did you know we are in a human society right now."
"I noticed that the knight who came was from a human civilization, they wouldn't come to my village or a VoltenCrown city for that matter."
"Right you are. You're smart, but yes we are in a human society. You see, after the war, to help humans get back onto their feet, some VoltenCrowns were told to stay, and I am the descendant of one of them.
The VoltenCrowns which decided to stay are unbeknownst to even humans. It's been so long since the war, many people doubt that we even exist, it's been a few centuries since the Magistrates have come to visit the Royal Humans. As the generations passed, we were forgotten. The only thing that keeps the peace agreement true is because of the thought that the Executioners still exists. in truth, they've passed away quite some time ago. Since we resemble humans in most of our aspects, we can blend in human societies pretty well. Unfortunately, you too will be needing to do so. Just remember one thing, don't tell anyone you're a VoltenCrown. conceal your powers till you're atleast 15."
"But doctor, I don't know how to control this, ability? burst? I don't know..."
"Don't worry, I'll help you get used to your powers, I'll help you regulate your voltage as well."
"Voltage? What's that?"
"Your source of energy. The empty current of electricity flowing through you is called voltage. Also Ruven, before you get confused, bursts are actually a weakened state of the original VoltenCrown state.
You have to enter this state to unlock the full potential of the weakened form of your ability. As most of your techniques and moved will be unlocked after you've unlocked your burst form."
"Is that only an option for us VoltenCrowns?"
"No. Humans too have a half awakened state. But theirs can be awakened fully. You may know that a human has awakened by seeing if they have wings or not. Only one human has achieved it so far. And he's the 2nd Strongest man in this world."
"Who's the first??"
"The descendant of the leader of the Executioners. It's said that he managed to unlock his VoltenCrown state as well, without any experience or without knowing it's technique. But of course, it's still a rumor."
"I see, thank you doctor, but after taking in so much information I feel tired. I may go back to sleep. Can I know your name?"
"It's Ray, and rest well Ruven, soon we'll find a new home for you."
"ok, thanks again for saving me.."
As soon as I said that, I dozed off. I really didn't expect to learn about all of this in one go. I'll think about it later tho, I'll go to sleep.
Meanwhile in Ray's mind,
I'm worried about that kid. He doesn't know how to control his abilities, it's risky to let him stay with humans, I know a few VoltenCrown families, but they have their own family to take care of. Poor boy, having to go through this at such an age.
I've told him that I'll help him with controlling his powers and with how to regulate his voltage anyways. Hmm.
I wonder if I could take him under my wing. It's definitely an option as right now, he only trusts me and Jian. Since Jian is busy with his duties as a Royal Guard, he won't be able to take proper care of him.
Ah screw it, there's no point thinking too much over it. I'll take him under my wing.
