Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Memories deep inside

She flipped back a few pages, the title 'Álgtheos blades' glooming on the top of the page, pictures of blurry entities in the middle of a wall of letters.

Anne used to think he was insane, that his title of 'scientist' was but a joke, until she ended up in the other world, these seemingly insane words and sentences that made up the book was so descriptive—it was like he was there himself.

Anne read through it all, then she saw it, a picture of Hells' Dancer, she was beyond surprised, how had it materialized, and how do people even believe him?

The questions that she had put aside all these years arose, they multiplied, every question was more unnerving than the other, yet there weren't any singular answer for it all.

Then she saw a distinct page, one covered in crimson, it was a scene she hadn't seen before, yet she instinctively knew where it was. The picture was taken in a hellish landscape, it made the place she lived in look like heaven, there were no trees, the rocks on the ground were burnt to a crisp.

The picture was eerie, there wasn't any vegetation, any signs of life, yet it looked abundant in an ecosystem, Anne herself didn't know why, it was all instinct.

The end of the page was ripped off, but there was still a faint mark, Anne couldn't figure it out, but none of that was important, she flipped back to the last page, there was a line, of her own hand writing.

"He deserved it." It broke Anne, it was her own. Sure, she never believed all that bullshit about science and heaven, but she never hated him either, on the contrary, she loved him...

She tore the book in half, to make sure no person ever gets it, she shredded it, into pieces that contained her love, yet she wasn't sad at the sight, she found happiness.

Then, a voice echoed, it wasn't IT's voice this time, it was the familiar voice she heard before waking up here, it was one of the Ancients', it echoed, "Such a sad sight, no? Too bad you're only an emotionless killer now." Maniacal laughter filled her head, her neck twisted, to the pile of corpses.

"Well, YOU told me I would've been a god, I'm just paving my path." Anne spoke to herself, the laughter stopped, this time it's tone serious, "Well, once again, good response."

Anne stopped to concentrate, she remembered, and then forgot, the face of the day where it all started, it was so blurry yet brought a feeling of absolute reality, it wasn't a beacon of hope to her mind, it was but a dark spot in her head, it blurred her memories, made her stupid, yet sharpened her instinct, it was like that moment she had ascended, she had a revelation.

"Why don't you come out, I'm done with what I need to do." She thought to herself, but IT hadn't responded, she waited, and waited, her hunger appeared once again, but she kept waiting, till she fell asleep.

Waking up once again, she wasn't in the other world, the buildings of the future was still in front of her, this time her hunger had disappeared, only the pile kept growing, she doesn't know what happened, maybe it was like last time, her body of the other side had malfunctioned, she could only wait for the end of the month as IT does things for her...
