Chapter 19 - Entering the game (5)

Ong Wei Jun is a classmate of mine. He is the vice-president of the Boys' Scouts, the secretary of the Chinese Language Society, the treasurer of the Chess Club... After school, you can always see him at various different society and club activities.

Although both Wei Jun and I are members of the Computer Science Club, and we even teamed up in the game "War Simulation" a few months ago, I wouldn't consider us close friends; at most, we are just acquaintances. However, I have seen Jun Wen chatting and laughing with him; their relationship seems pretty good.

According to Ming hua's gossip, Wei Jun's grades have slipped this semester, and his family is putting pressure on him. If his midterm exam results aren't satisfactory, his family will ban him from all extracurricular activities unrelated to academics and will also confiscate his smart glasses, preventing him from playing games. I heard Wei Jun has had several arguments with his family over this matter.

"Is that so? If Wei Jun couldn't join the game, why didn't he notify us earlier?" Xin Hui looked somewhat angry, her brows furrowed and her mouth slightly pouted. "Yesterday afternoon, when the three of us were discussing game strategy for 'Campus Adventure,' he was still full of confidence, saying he would lead us to win the championship and bring honor to the class."

"Um... Wei Jun didn't ask me to come play the game," I couldn't help but interrupt their conversation. "Why are you so questioning of my presence here?"

The air fell silent for a few seconds, the only sound being the ceiling fan whirring overhead.

Why aren't they saying anything? Did I ask the wrong question? Should I really not be here?

"Do you know that this year's inter-class tournament added a new campus-themed virtual game event? That game is 'Campus Adventure,' and the campus we are in right now is inside the game." Xin Hui walked towards me and explained patiently...
