Chapter 8 - The Ultimate Punisher

Tommy, driving his Ram 1500, ran him over.

Tommy knew exactly what had transpired inside the arena. He had watched everything.

After Bully #1 left the arena, Tommy climbed into his truck and sat, thoughts racing back to the news report about the bullied teenager who committed suicide. He tried to stop his racing thoughts, tried to calm himself, but the memory only made his blood boil.

Consumed by anger, Tommy turned the ignition and drove off. Since The Punishment Arena was in the middle of nowhere, it was easy to spot someone who had just left on foot.

A few moments later, from ninety-nine yards away, Tommy spotted the lone figure walking.

He was certain it was the guy, and without hesitation, he floored the gas pedal, speeding toward him.

"Wham!"

Tommy had never established a rule for when a fighter chose to let a bully walk away. But in this case, Tommy slipped.

The truth was, he had already given the guy his "second chance," to face judgment and punishment in the arena.

Through the creation of The Punishment Arena, he had intended to teach his right-hand man, Brian, about mercy and the value of giving, even an undeserving individual, a second chance.

As Bully #1 walked away, Tommy saw that Brian had already surpassed him, and he felt proud, like a true master.

Three years ago, Tommy knew, the outcome would have been different. Brian had gotten better at controlling his emotions, becoming a truly good-hearted young man by giving a second chance to this bully.

"Well, I slipped. I preach a second chance, but I couldn't just let him go. Maybe next time I'll be more like Brian. And he certainly doesn't need to know about this."
