Chapter 28 - Screwed up

The student gulps nervously and nods, while Sanemi continues his lesson, his thoughts drifting to Giyuu.

Not a girl... but definitely my idiot boyfriend.

The class goes on, and Sanemi tries to concentrate on teaching, but he keeps glancing at the clock, counting down the hours until he can see Giyuu again. A student raised their hand.

"Mr. Shinazugawa, can you explain this problem?"

Sanemi snaps out of his thoughts and walks over to the student's desk.

"Sure, let me see."

He looks at the problem and solves it with ease, his mind still partially on his plans for later. The student thanks him and Sanemi returns to the front of the class, trying to suppress a smile as he thinks about their date.

"Next question."

"Sir why are you smiling? It's is really rare. You are mostly smiling when when someone got hurt or failed the test."

Sanemi his expression immediately darkens.

"Mind your own business. I can smile if I want to."

The class collectively shivers at his sudden change in demeanor, remembering the infamous times he's laughed at their failures.

"Maybe he really fall in love?"

Sanemi's eyes widen for a split second before he composes himself again.

"Love? Don't be ridiculous. I'm just in a good mood today. Now, enough chit-chat and get back to work!"

The students wisely shut up and focus on their work, not wanting to provoke their scary math teacher. Sanemi stands at his desk, secretly amused by their speculations. As the bell rings for the next period, Sanemi watches as his students leave, some still stealing curious glances at him. I should bring Giyuu some ohagi later... as a surprise. He pulls out his phone and sends a quick text to Giyuu.

Sanemi:

Giyuu, don't eat lunch today. I'm bringing you something special.

Giyuu's phone buzzes in his pocket during his class. He discreetly checks it and sees Sanemi's message, a small smile forming on his usually stoic face.

Giyuu:

You better not be joking, Shinazugawa.

Sanemi:

When have I ever joked about food? Especially your favorite.

It's now 9:15 am, and Sanemi can't wait for lunch to arrive. He keeps glancing at the clock, counting down the minutes.

Just a few more hours...

The morning classes drag on for Sanemi, his impatience growing with each passing minute. He checks his watch repeatedly, sighing heavily.

Why is time moving so damn slow today?

One of the students notices Sanemi's constant fidgeting and raises their hand again.

"Mr. Shinazugawa, are you feeling okay? You keep looking at your watch."

Sanemi snaps at the student.

"I'm fine! Just... keep working!"

He realizes he's being too obvious and forces himself to stay still, though his leg bounces under his desk. The student lowers their hand, clearly intimidated by Sanemi's outburst. The rest of the class remains silent, sensing his unusual agitation.

Damn it, I need to get it together. I'm acting like a lovesick fool.

Sanemi takes a deep breath and tries to focus on his work, but his thoughts keep drifting to Giyuu. He can almost picture the way Giyuu's eyes light up when he sees food.

He better appreciate this... and maybe give me a kiss as thanks. The bell rings for lunch break, and Sanemi immediately stands up, gathering his things.

"Class dismissed. Don't be late for my next period."

He practically runs out of the classroom, heading straight to the staff room to get the ohagi he prepared earlier. In the staff room, Sanemi pulls out a beautifully wrapped box of freshly made ohagi from his bag. He checks his reflection in the mirror, making sure he looks presentable.

Here goes nothing... I hope he likes it.

He straightens his tie and walks confidently towards the gym where Giyuu usually eats lunch. As he approaches the gym, he sees Giyuu sitting alone on a bench, scrolling through his phone. Sanemi clears his throat to get Giyuu's attention.

"Oi, Giyuu."

He holds up the box with a smirk, his heart beating faster than he'd like to admit. Giyuu looks up, his expression unreadable as usual, but there's a hint of curiosity in his eyes.

"Sanemi. What's that?"

Sanemi walks closer and sits beside him, placing the box on Giyuu's lap.

"Open it and find out, idiot. I told you I brought you something special."

He tries to act casual, but his voice betrays a hint of nervousness. Giyuu opens the box and his eyes widen slightly at the sight of his favorite foods. Ohagi, because of Sanemi and of course simmered salmon with daikon.

"You... made this yourself?"

He looks at Sanemi with a mix of surprise and appreciation, his usual stoic facade cracking just a bit. Sanemi nods, a proud smile forming on his face.

"Yeah. Took me forever to perfect the recipe. Better eat it while it's hot."

He watches Giyuu intently, waiting for his reaction. He takes a small bite of the ohagi, then another larger one, savoring the taste.

It's... actually really good.

He says it quietly, but there's a subtle warmth in his voice that Sanemi catches. Sanemi grins widely, feeling a surge of happiness at the compliment.

"Of course it is. I'm an amazing cook, unlike some people."

He nudges Giyuu playfully, feeling more confident now. Giyuu continues eating, a faint blush appearing on his cheeks as he secretly enjoys Sanemi's company.

"Thank you, Sanemi."

He says it so softly that it's almost a whisper, but Sanemi hears it clearly and feels his heart skip a beat. Sanemi suddenly leans in, closing the distance between them. His lips hovering near Giyuu's and Sanemi whispers huskily.

"You're welcome. But I want more than just a thank you."

He glances around to make sure no one is watching before pressing his lips against Giyuu's in a gentle yet passionate kiss. Giyuu freezes for a moment, surprised by the kiss, but then melts into it, his eyes fluttering shut. He tastes the sweetness of the ohagi on Sanemi's lips. Giyuu pulls back slightly, breathing heavily. "Sanemi, we're at school..."

He looks around nervously, but there's a hint of excitement in his voice.

"It's not like we nearly fucked in school."

Giyuu blushes furiously at the memory, smacking Sanemi's arm.

"Shut up! That was different. And we almost got caught that time."

He glances at the door anxiously, but can't help smiling at Sanemi's boldness. Sanemi laughs, enjoying how flustered Giyuu gets.

"You're so cute when you're flustered. And I'm just stating facts."

He wraps an arm around Giyuu's waist, pulling him closer despite his protests. The bell rings again, signaling the end of lunch break. Giyuu reluctantly pulls away from Sanemi's embrace.

"We really should get back to work."

He stands up, fixing his disheveled hair and uniform, still feeling the lingering warmth of Sanemi's touch. Sanemi stands up as well, fixing his tie again and adjusting his glasses:

"Fine, fine. But we're continuing this later."

He gives Giyuu a suggestive wink before heading back to his classroom, a satisfied smirk on his face. The whole school is whispering and showing something on their phones. Sanemi notices the commotion and approaches a group of students.

"What's with all the gossip? Show me your phones."

He demands, his teacher instincts kicking in, though he has a bad feeling about what they might be looking at. A student nervously holds out their phone, showing a picture of Sanemi and Giyuu kissing in the gym.

"It's you and Mr. Tomioka, sir... it's all over social media."

Sanemi's eyes widen in shock and anger as he snatches the phone from the student's hand. The door swing's open and a angry Obanai in the doorway. Sanemi turns around sharply, his face darkening at the sight of Obanai.

"What the hell do you want, Iguro?"

He clenches his fists, realizing that Obanai must have seen the photo too.
