Evelin's POV
I watched the storm of emotions playing across Jimmy's face—conflict, struggle, and for the first time, raw panic flickering in his eyes.
He was the one who'd pulled back, who kept demanding I prove myself over and over. Yet here he was, desperately clinging to me, refusing to let me walk away.
Maybe he's never felt secure with anyone. Maybe he thinks my love runs too shallow, that I'll abandon him the second things get tough.
"Fine. I won't let you go." I flashed him a soft but determined smile, sliding my arms around his neck before he could react. "As long as you don't tell me to leave, I'm staying right here. Does that work for you, Mr. Hamilton?"
"What?" He looked completely blindsided.
The confusion in my eyes cleared, replaced by steady calm.
"I said, unless you ask me to let go, I'm not going anywhere," I repeated, tilting my chin up to brush a gentle kiss across his lips.
Jimmy went rigid, eyes wide with shock as he stared at me.
