It was already eleven at night; bedtime was creeping up. Mei suddenly remembered something and asked, "Why haven't you been gaming lately?"
Otis glanced at his phone, then answered, "Nobody to play with these days."
The real reason was simpler: Mei had been sleeping in his room. Otis didn't want the noise of a heated game session waking her, and when he got into the zone he tended to swear like a sailor not something he wanted her to see. Mei made a small "oh" and reached for the bedside lamp switch. "So… shall we sleep?"
Fine. The AC was on, the breeze felt just right, and it was the perfect time to sleep. Come on, Mei sleep well tonight, don't fall off the bed. Otis nodded.
"Don't roll off again," he warned. "If you roll off again, I'll know you have bad intentions toward me."
Mei snorted. "Bad intentions toward you? Dream on. Except maybe touching your hand once but that's it. I swear: if I fall off the bed again, I'll be a puppy."
