"Master's bedroom? So where will you sleep?" Emily asked cluelessly.
"You're now married, Mrs Stone, husband and wife are meant to sleep together don't you think so ?" Alex smirked.
"Ohh Yes," Emily said.
"If you need me just call me, I won't be coming back anytime soon."Alex said, heading to his study room.
"Boss, the lady you married isn't the lady you have been looking for," Alex personal assistant, Nuel said, while handing him the document.
He frowned, going through the file, "So are you saying that the lady here is fake or she has a twin?" Alex was confused.
"I am not sure yet but we have our men searching everywhere," Nuel explained. "The lady here has no birthmark on her left shoulder but Abigail did."
Abigail was the lady Alex fell in love with online, they became close friends for two years and Abigail promised to visit his country when she's back from business trip in Australia. However, Alex did not hear from her when she arrived in Australia, It's been four years now and he can't move on.
" Let's keep this a secret," He instructed Nuel. "If my mother asks about the sudden marriage you know what to say. As for the stranger I married keep an eye on her."
After that, Nuel and Alex discussed business, signing documents and approving company projects. They worked until midnight before Alex sent Nuel home.
Alex made his way to the bedroom, where Emily was sleeping peacefully. He looked at her face closely and her skin color somehow matched the lady he had in mind.
Emily screamed.. "When did you return? Why were so close to my face," She asked.
Emily had a lot of questions, but then she remembered she was married to the man standing before her. "I'm sorry," She said while getting up from the bed.
Alex looked at her confused, as to why she was apologizing and asked, " Going somewhere?"
"I will sleep on the couch while you take the bed," She explained.
Alex knew she wasn't ready but it looked like she had something else in mind she was afraid of. Alex having the urge to tease her, he quickly pinned her to the wall.
" You do not believe the rumors right? I am not infertile and I am not cursed." He said, with a calm voice. "You're my woman now. I understand you are not ready but you shouldn't make it so obvious. I can wait till you're ready but you should know that I won't be able to wait for long," He smirked, letting her go.
Alex left the room, heading back to my study room, he could finally rest at least for now until he found Abigail. He sighed.
Emily woke up to the sound of birds singing softly outside the windows. She had never slept so peacefully after that incident, heading to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth, getting ready to head out until a knock came at the door.
"Maybe he's a gentleman after all." She thought and told the person to come in, but to her surprise, it wasn't Alex, instead it was a petite lady in a maid outfit.
Emily can't remember meeting a maid last night, "Where is your boss?" She asked the lady, smiling.
"He left for the office this morning." The maid replied. "He instructed me to get you prepared to meet his mother tonight."
Emily was shocked. "Why the rush? It's still morning. Do I need to get prepared now?"
Mia stood there with a confused look and explained, "Ma'am, it's already afternoon. We need to select an elegant dress for you, get your nails and style your hair before tonight."
Emily glancing at the time, it was already noon. No wonder she felt so refreshed, having slept for so long. "Okay," she murmured, getting out of bed, letting Mia do her work .
It took hours for Emily to get ready, trying one dress after another, she sighed. What's the point of all these if she can't meet her naturally.
"What do you think about your new look?" Mia asked, smiling..
