After donning her mask and being led to the basement under the backyard's hidden building, Ruby finally understood what Mario had meant by a steaming hot revenge.
The smell of burnt flesh permeated in the air as the iron gates were locked shut behind her.
'Is this… an underground prison?'
She uncontrollably shuddered, her heart beating wild as she stared at the bloodied footsteps winding down the stone staircase.
The darkness before her seemed to have no end and the longer she stared, the greater her fear and hesitation grew.
"What are you doing?" Mario stopped in his tracks, his cold voice dropping an octave. "Follow behind me." He urged, his annoyance apparent.
Ruby forced herself to move forward. As she walked further into the darkness, flames sparked out to illuminate each cell.
The air was incredibly hot and sticky, with a hint of a rusty smell clinging to each corner of the dark room.
