The captain pulled out his katana from his waist, in which the supernatural then charged forward in an attempt to attack him. The captain, despite being in his mid 30s to early 40s, was extremely agile and easily dodged the incoming attack. He then slashed the supernatural, however it was also no joke, as it disappeared right in front of the captain's eyes, startling him a bit. The supernatural seemed to smell an opening, as it quickly came out from behind the captain and tried hitting him.
Before its fist connected with the captain, the sueprnatural immediately sprung back. The place where it's fist was originally was cut off, and black blood was spilling from the wound. The captain sighed, and then charged again at the supernatural, intending to immobilize it by cutting off its limbs.
Suddenly, the ground beneath the captain spill it open, and the captain was barely able to dodge the trap. He then noticed tree branched stretching out to attack him, almost as if they were made from gum. The captain sliced at the branches coming his way, and slowly started to approach where the supernatural was.
Meanwhile, the others private hunters were observing the fight and were wondering when to intervene, as the boss still haven't given the signal yet. They noticed that despite the chaos, it seemed as if the captain was not having too much trouble handling this himself, as he was cutting the branches almost effortlessly, each slice cutting 5 branches at a time.
The supernatural then charged at the captain again, its chopped hand being healed, and used the terrain around it to try and immobilize him. It seemed like that would have worked, as the captain just stood there, letting the attacks reach him. Thinking that he was immobilized, the supernatural attacked, until suddenly, a huge swarm of cuts sliced open the nature around and the supernatural had to retreat. It seemed to finally understand that this human was much more powerful than him, so it started to keep its distance. The captain started to approach it, forcing the supernatural to also back up, and then the captain swung his sword, creating a series of slashes that glided through the air.
One of the slashes sliced the supernatural's arm off, and another sliced off its leg. The supernatural was now screaming, and it kept attacking with branches and earth at the captain. Unfortunately, it seemed to have no effect, as the captain just casually sliced the incoming attacks. Suddenly, just as the captain was about to reach the supernatural, a loud sound echoed throughout the forest, startling everyone. Dagoku looked around to see where it came from, however he could not see anything through the unusually dense forest around him.
A running noise could be heard approaching them, and everyone faced the direction in which the sound was coming from. Before the captain could react, a tentacle-like arm shot towards him at a terrifyingly fast speed, aiming straight towards his head. However, before it could connect with the captain's head, a small crack in the air formed and a hand came out, halting the tentacle right as it was about to hit the captain. The captain calmly stepped aside, and sliced the tentacle-like arm, splitting the tentacle in two. The part which came out from the forest quickly retracted and disappeared into the dense trees.
The captain ordered everyone to stay alert through a headpiece they all wore, and then noticed that something was coming out of the forest. In fact, there were many shadowy figures coming towards him. Soon enough, the captain was now surrounded by a whole bunch of supernaturals that seemed to have heard the commotion nearby. The captain sighed, and then summoned multiple portals, in which a whole bunch of bullets shot out at the supernaturals. Dagoku forgot that the captain made a contract with a supernatural, however everyone in the workplace still does not know what type of supernatural he made it with. All they knew was that he was able to summon portals at alarming speeds and summon random things from those portals.
All the supernaturals were hit with a dozen bullets at least in that short time period, however, they were soon able to recover from the bullet wounds. The captain finally gave out the signal for everyone to attack, and out from the trees, the other hunters charged forth with their weapons in hand. Before the supernaturals could react, they were being sliced and diced by everyone. The supernaturals finally retaliated after sustaining some heavy injuries, and started to use their skills. One supernatural was able to control gravity, immobilizing a couple of hunters, who were then crushed by a huge chunk of earth that was controlled by another supernatural. Another was able to shoot sharp projectiles at the hunters, in which some were hit in vital spots and started bleeding out. Dagoku was unfazed by the events happening around him, as this was what always happened during the job. People die, and then more people come in to fill in those spots. He then killed another supernatural, its body being dismembered into multiple pieces of flesh. The air was thick with blood, both from supernaturals and humans.
The captain was a bit frustrated, as first of all, these supernatural were formidable that the previous encounters he had with other supernaturals. This was due to how these supernaturals seemed to coordinate their attacks with one another, almost as if they've been doing this for a long time. He was also pissed off about how the intel they were given did not mention any news about more supernaturals in the area. If he knew about this, he would've demanded for more cash. But at the same time, this was likely why those bastards left the multiple supernatural parts out. The captain then killed two more supernaturals with his katana, which brought him to killing almost half the supernaturals present all by himself.
As the remaining supernaturals were wiped out, Dagoku noticed that the supernatural that they were hunting for had disappeared. He told the captain the bad news, and the captain started to swear profusely. He said to the remaining survivors that they would be going back for now, as half the group has been wiped out by the attack. Dagoku wondered when the hell this had happened and why they brought those people in the first place. After all, it was still them who attacked first and suprise attack the new supernaturals, however losing half the people was just insane to him.
Dagoku looked around the forest, it being filled with guts and blood with corpses all over the place. He decided to not think too much about the dead and was about to follow the others, until he felt the tiny kitten in his pouch starting to move around again. He guessed that the noise woke the kitten up and was curious on how the kitten did not wake up sooner. Dagoku just concluded that this was something that just could not be explained, no matter how many years shall pass, and petted the kitten, which purred.
Afterwards, he finally ran to catch up with the others, who were now decently ahead of him, not noticing that the supernatural from before was watching him.
