CHAPTER 28: THE GIRL IN THE SILVER DRESS
HAZEL'S POV
They gave me limited movement under guard, which I found both insulting and privately useful. Two guards, three steps behind me at all times, close enough that I could hear them breathing. Sophie had apparently decided this was an acceptable arrangement because she showed up at my door that morning with her chin set and her hands clasped and announced that we were going for a walk through the inner gardens, because fresh air, she said, would stop me from murdering someone.
She said it like it was a joke. I didn't correct her.
