Chapter 4 - Headmaster Michael & Boss Wife

The next morning, after the final exam, Su Wen made his way to the Headmaster's office. The sunlight filtered softly through the tall windows, dust motes dancing in the warm rays. When he entered the office, the middle-aged man was sitting comfortably behind his desk, laughing out loud while reading a book.

He took out a bottle of wine from his storage ring, poured himself a cup, and continued reading, chuckling every now and then as if he'd discovered the greatest treasure in the world.

His name was Michael Rosmond, and he had been the Headmaster of the Sunrise Academy for the past twenty years. Under his leadership, the academy had become the number one institution in the Eastern Continent. His background was a mystery, all anyone knew was that he'd come from the Central Continent. That alone was strange, since the Central Continent was considered the holy land for cultivation; coming here meant giving up the best chances of breaking through to higher realms.

When Su Wen stepped inside, he paused for a moment. The legendary Headmaster, known for his stern face and strict rules , was sitting there drinking wine and laughing at what looked like... a family drama novel.

If the students outside ever saw this, they'd probably be in shock for a week straight.

Su Wen, however, wasn't surprised. He simply walked over, took out another cup from his storage ring, poured some wine for himself, then filled his teacher's cup to the brim.

Su Wen raised his brows and asked, "Which chapter are you on now? Did you get to the part where the boss's wife beats the crap out of that greedy relative?"

Michael scoffed and looked at him, "You brat, don't spoil it! I'm still at the part where the boss's wife destroys the enemy's base with just one finger."

Su wen squinted his eyes, "oh that part…hehee. Do you think teacher Elen could do that too, destroy her enemies with one finger?"

Michael snorted dismissively, "Nonsense, she is so weak she can't even kill a mosquito using her both hands and you're talking about killing with one finger"

Neither of them noticed a dark shadow slowly approaching from behind. But Su Wen's Level 2000 Immortal Divine Sense immediately sensed danger. He didn't turn around. Instead, he kept a calm face and said proudly,

"Old man, looks like with your age your eyes are also failing you!!

Teacher Elen is like… a diamond among stones, beauty among beauty, elegant and powerful! Just her aura alone shows how strong she is. How could you talk about her like that?"

Michael, who was engrossed in reading and drinking, blinked, stunned. 'What's gotten into this brat all of a sudden? Has he finally lost his mind?'

Without looking up from his book, Michael took a slow sip of wine and said, "Brat, your brain's finally given up now, huh? Now you're comparing an old lady to a young beauty? Hahaha!"

Su wen couldn't help but mourn the famous Headmaster of the Sunrise academy and silently promised to light a few incenses for his teacher's soul later...cough cough.

"Teacher, I haven't lost my mind but just stating the Universal truth of the world. Teacher Elen is kind, gentle, and always supportive. You shouldn't talk about her that way. If you're a real man of integrity, say it to her face!"

Michael chuckled, "hmpp…you and righteous?" Michael scoffed, "Do you want me to die, if I even said one word like that in front of her, she would definitely sell me to the Underworld for free."

Before Su wen could retort, another flower like cold voice came from behind, "Do you think she wouldn't hear what you just said?"

"Brat, are you going to tell...gulp", Michael was about to retort but suddenly stopped.

Before his could finish, he suddenly felt a chill ran down his spine and the wine slipped from his fingers, staining his robe.

Standing behind them was Elen, a beautiful woman in her late thirties, dressed in elegant purple robes and fine piece of jewellery. She held a wooden stick in one hand and some spirit herbs in the other, and her gentle smile doing nothing to hide the terrifying aura behind it.

"H-Honey! When did you get here? You should've told me, I would've brewed some tea for you."

He laughed nervously, desperately trying to steer the conversation somewhere, anywhere, just like a fish without water, to save himself.

"Oh, no worries husband, I came when you were talking about the boss wife who destroyed here enemies with a single finger and don't worry about the tea, I have a friend named Meng Po famous for her tea worldwide, I will take you to her later for the special cup."

Elen's tone didn't change but her eyer narrowed dangerously and her red lips curled upward like a crescent moon.

Both Su wen and Michael felt the temperature of the room getting colder, Su wen without wasting any time immediately distanced himself from the Headmaster.

Su wen trying to divert attention from himself, "Teacher you were saying something about the finger and mosquitoes, can you please also repeat that part for the Teacher Elen."

Michael's eyes twitched. Now he understood why Su Wen had been praising his wife earlier, this brat betrayed his teacher when he was needed the most.

Michael looked at his eyes which seemed to be saying, 'Your wife your problem, I don't want to go to underworld for some old lady named Meng Po pouring me tea'.

After sacrificing his teacher, he was about to slip out, a hand suddenly landed on his shoulder, pressing him firmly into his seat.

"Don't worry, Su Wen. You came to talk about something important, right? I'll bring you a cup of tea too. Then you can tell me how you kill mosquitoes with a single finger."

Her smile didn't change, but cold sweat formed on Su Wen's forehead.

Su Wen explained hurriedly, "T-Teacher Elen, I actually just wanted to ask the Headmaster about the latest volume of Legends of the Boss's Wife! I got my answer, so I should probably leave now and not disturb you two".

"Drink some tea first." Elen said instantly without changing her expression which made Su Wen felt like a helpless sheep sitting in front of a cheerful butcher waiting for his turn. He sighed, nodded weakly, and sat back down.

The Headmaster, realizing he wasn't going to face this alone, couldn't help but smirk, as if the disaster about to unfold had nothing to do with him.

"Better die together than suffer the cold alone…"

Su wen turned to glare at him, and the look in his eyes said, You dragged me into this, old man!

Michael just gave a helpless shrug and sighed. 'What a filial student…'
