Chapter 3 : awakening of war god
After an hour of sleep, Carl finally woke up. The fusion with Kratos’ soul was complete. His entire demeanor had changed—his body had become more muscular, his skin pale white, and a red tattoo now marked his entire body.
“Where… am I?” Carl muttered as he looked around. He was inside a simple house with an orange grove outside, but no one else in sight.
Still confused, he checked the memories he gained from Kratos’ soul. But some of them didn’t match the events he knew from the game.
“Hey, System… why does Kratos’ memory not match what I know?”
“Host, I’m really sorry,” the System replied. “I sent you to the wrong world. This world is *One Piece*, but Kratos existed here thousands of years ago.”
“What!?” Carl was shocked. That meant another powerful existence lived here—and he couldn’t rely on his knowledge of the original story anymore.
“Don’t worry, Host,” the System said. “The Kratos in this world wasn’t transmigrated. He was a being created by the System.”
“…Okay? Thanks, I guess.” Carl stood up and began wandering around.
A few minutes later, someone knocked on the door. Curious, he walked over and opened it. Standing outside was a blue-haired girl, along with a boy wearing a straw hat, a long-nosed guy, a green-haired swordsman, and a curly-browed cook.
“Hello, are you the owner of this house?” the blue-haired girl asked.
The moment Carl saw her, he realized—*Nojiko*. That meant he was in Nami and Nojiko’s home.
“Oh, you’re awake!” Nojiko’s face turned slightly red as she quickly looked away.
“Ah… thank you. But where am I?”
“You’re in Cocoyasi Village,” she answered.
“Do you know why I’m here?”
Nojiko’s expression turned serious. She walked inside and explained how he had fallen from the sky and how Nami rescued him.
“What? You fell from the sky!?” everyone in the room shouted. Luffy, curious as always, leaned forward.
“I actually don’t know,” Carl replied. Seeing Luffy, he realized he needed to join the Straw Hats.
Sanji then added, “A few days ago, a huge meteorite crashed into the sea and caused a tsunami. Maybe it was connected to you?”
Everyone looked shocked. Carl felt cornered.
“Actually… I come from a place called Olympus. My birthplace is Sparta.” He used the locations from Kratos’ memories.
“Olympus!?” everyone gasped. In this world, Olympus was known as the realm of the gods.
“Is… that a problem?” Carl asked awkwardly. He forgot this wasn’t his original world.
Everyone suddenly turned sharp-toothed, yelling, “Do you really know Olympus!?”
Luffy then asked, “Hey guys, what’s Olympus?”
All eyes turned to him.
“I don’t know… but I feel like I *remember* something about it.”
“Maybe because of your Devil Fruit?” Carl suggested.
That confused all of them. Devil Fruits were treasures of the sea—how could they give memories?
“Well, some Devil Fruits have minds of their own,” Carl explained. “Especially Mythical Zoans.”
Everyone froze.
“What’s a Mythical Zoan?” Sanji asked.
“There are three main types of Devil Fruits,” Carl said. “Paramecia, the most common. Zoan, which lets you transform into animals. And Logia—rare fruits that control natural elements. If you don’t have Haki, you can’t touch them.”
They nodded carefully.
“Zoans also have branches: Ancient Zoans, which transform you into extinct creatures, and Mythical Zoans—the rarest of all. They have their own will and choose their host. Only three users are known.”
Everyone stared at Luffy like he was a monster.
“W-wait! I’m not a Mythical Zoan user! I’m a rubber man! A Paramecia!” Luffy protested.
“For now,” Carl said. “But inside you, a divine energy is flowing. Your fruit hasn’t fully awakened. You’re only using about ten percent of its power.”
The group turned silent, thinking deeply.
Carl shifted the topic. “Anyway, where’s the girl who saved me—Nami?”
That snapped them back. Nojiko explained how the Marines confiscated Nami’s money and how Arlong’s pirates controlled the village.
“I was going to give you a reward for saving me,” Carl said, “but since my savior is in trouble… I guess I’ll have to stretch a bit.”
The System then provided Carl with a vast fortune—25 billion berries' worth of gold.
“Wait! Red-tattoo guy! If you’re going to fight Arlong, count me in!” Luffy shouted, hugging Carl suddenly.
“This captain is so troublesome…” Carl muttered as he watched the Straw Hats sigh in unison.
“Let’s wait for my weapon. It should be arriving soon.”
“A weapon?” Zoro asked.
A sudden sonic boom roared from outside. Zoro pulled everyone down as something crashed nearby, shaking the entire ground.
“It’s here,” Carl said.
They ran outside toward the huge crater. Carl had a black line on his face—the thing was badly damaged. It needed repairs.
“Hey, Nojiko, take this.” Carl tossed her a massive box. She stumbled but managed to catch it. Inside was a mountain of gold.
“That’s 50 million berries of gold as compensation for the damage.”
Everyone’s jaw dropped. Carl just threw away 50 million like pocket change.
Carl jumped into the crater, the others following from a distance. A pair of chained blades lay there, radiating intense heat. The Straw Hats couldn’t get close, but Carl walked forward unfazed.
The moment he approached, the blades ignited with flames, recognizing their master.
“Finally… Blade of Chaos,” Carl whispered. The chains wrapped around his arms.
Luffy couldn’t hold back anymore. “Hey, red-tattoo guy! What’s your name?”
Carl smirked.
“Kratos.”
