Li Wei's smile sent a chill down Bright's spine as he stood in the dimly lit warehouse, the only sound the creaking of the old wooden beams and the faint hum of a distant machine. The air was thick with tension, and Bright could feel Clair's eyes on him, urging him to be cautious.
"So, what's the deal, Li Wei?" Bright asked, his voice firm and steady, trying to mask the unease that was growing inside him.
Li Wei chuckled, the sound echoing through the warehouse. "Ah, Bright, you're so eager. I like that. Let's just say I have information that could change everything for you. But first, you have to do something for me."
Clair's voice was low and urgent, her eyes scanning the warehouse for any signs of danger. "What do you want, Li Wei?"
Li Wei's eyes flicked to Clair, and for a moment, Bright thought he saw a glimmer of respect there. "Ah, Clair. Always so protective of Bright. I like that. But this is between Bright and me."
Bright's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. "What do you want me to do, Li Wei?"
Li Wei's expression turned serious, his eyes boring into Bright's. "I want you to come with me. I have something to show you. Something that will change everything."
Victor's voice was low, his eyes scanning the warehouse for any signs of danger. "Bright, I don't think this is a good idea."
Bright hesitated, weighing his options. He didn't trust Li Wei, but he had to know what he knew. "Okay, I'll go with you. But Clair and Victor come with me."
Li Wei shook his head, his smile returning. "No, Bright. Just you. This is a solo trip."
Bright's eyes locked with Li Wei's, a surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins. He knew he had to be careful, but he also knew he couldn't pass up this opportunity. "Okay, I'll go. But if anything happens to me, Clair will make sure you pay."
Li Wei chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I'm shaking in my boots, Bright. Let's go."
As Bright followed Li Wei out of the warehouse, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was walking into a trap. But he had to know the truth, no matter what it cost him.
The night air was cool and crisp, filled with the sounds of the city. Bright's eyes scanned the area, taking in the dark shadows and deserted streets. Li Wei led him to a black car, parked in the shadows.
"Get in," Li Wei said, opening the door.
Bright hesitated, his eyes scanning the car for any signs of danger. But he knew he had to do this. He got in, and Li Wei followed, closing the door behind him.
As the car drove off, Bright's mind was racing. What was Li Wei going to show him? And what did it have to do with his father's murder?
The car drove through the city, weaving through the dark streets and alleys. Bright's eyes were fixed on Li Wei, his senses on high alert.
Finally, the car stopped in front of a large building, its windows dark and ominous.
"Welcome to the headquarters of Li Wei's empire," Li Wei said, his voice dripping with pride. "Come, Bright. Let me show you the truth."
Bright's heart was pounding as he followed Li Wei into the building. He knew he was taking a risk, but he had to know the truth.
As they walked through the dark corridors, Bright's eyes adjusted to the dim light. He saw something that made his heart skip a beat.
A door, with a name on it.
Bright's name.
What did it mean? And what was Li Wei planning?
Bright's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew he had to be careful, but he also knew he couldn't turn back now.
Li Wei stopped in front of the door and turned to Bright. "This is it, Bright. This is where your journey ends, and the truth begins."
Bright's eyes locked with Li Wei's, his heart pounding in his chest. "What do you mean?"
Li Wei's smile returned, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Open the door, Bright. And find out."
Bright hesitated, his hand reaching out to grasp the door handle. He took a deep breath, and turned the handle.
The door creaked open, revealing a room filled with lights and shadows.
And a figure, standing in the center of the room.
Bright's eyes widened in shock as he recognized the figure.
It was his father.
Bright's mind was reeling as he stared at the figure in front of him. His father, who was supposed to be dead. Who had been murdered.
But, how was it possible?
Bright's eyes locked with his father's, searching for answers. But his father's expression was calm, serene even.
"Bright, my son," his father said, his voice warm and familiar.
Bright's mind was reeling. He didn't know what to say, what to do. He felt like he was trapped in a dream, a nightmare.
Li Wei's voice was low and smooth, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Welcome to the family, Bright. You're just in time for the reunion."
Bright's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. What did Li Wei mean? And what was going on?
"Father," Bright said, his voice shaking with emotion. "How...how is this possible?"
His father's expression was calm, his eyes filled with love and sadness. "I'll explain everything, Bright. But first, we have to get you out of here. It's not safe."
Bright's eyes locked with his father's, his heart pounding in his chest. He knew he had to trust his father, no matter what.
"Daddy," Bright said, his voice barely above a whisper.
His father's face softened, his eyes filling with tears. "I'm so sorry, Bright. I'm so sorry I left you."
Bright's heart was racing as he rushed into his father's arms, tears streaming down his face. He felt like a child again, safe and protected.
As they hugged, Bright knew that nothing would ever be the same again. He had found his father, but he had also uncovered a web of secrets and lies.
And he was determined to get to the bottom of it.
"What's going on, Father?" Bright asked, his voice muffled against his father's shoulder.
His father pulled back, his eyes scanning the room. "It's a long story, Bright. But I promise, I'll tell you everything. Just not here. Not now."
Li Wei's voice was low, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Ah, but I think it's time for Bright to know the truth, don't you, Mr. James?"
Bright's father nodded, his eyes locked with Li Wei's. "Yes, it's time."
Bright's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. What was going on? And what did Li Wei have to do with it?
"Tell me, Father," Bright said, his voice firm. "Tell me the truth."
His father took a deep breath, his eyes locked with Bright's. "Bright, I'm not who you think I am. I'm not just your father. I'm...I'm the head of a powerful organization. An organization that's been working behind the scenes for years."
Bright's mind was reeling. What was his father saying? And what did it have to do with him?
"What organization?" Bright asked, his voice shaking with emotion.
His father's eyes locked with his, his expression serious. "The organization is called...the Order of the Dragon."
Bright's eyes widened in shock as he stared at his father. The Order of the Dragon? He had heard of them, of course. Who hadn't? They were a powerful and secretive organization, rumored to be involved in everything from politics to crime.
And his father was the head of it?
Bright's mind was reeling as he tried to process the information. He felt like he was trapped in a dream, a nightmare.
"You're...you're the head of the Order of the Dragon?" Bright asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
His father nodded, his eyes locked with Bright's. "Yes, Bright. I am."
Bright's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. What did it mean? And what did it have to do with him?
"Why?" Bright asked, his voice shaking with emotion. "Why didn't you tell me?"
His father's expression was sad, his eyes filled with regret. "I wanted to, Bright. I wanted to tell you so many times. But I couldn't. It was too dangerous."
Bright's eyes locked with his father's, his heart pounding in his chest. He knew he had to trust his father, no matter what.
"Tell me everything, Father," Bright said, his voice firm. "Tell me the truth."
His father nodded, a small smile on his face. "Okay, Bright. I'll tell you everything."
And with that, Bright's father began to tell him the truth. The truth about the Order of the Dragon, about his family, and about Bright's own destiny.
Bright listened, his heart pounding in his chest, as the truth unfolded before him. He knew that nothing would ever be the same again.
To be continued...
