Aurora tilted her head slightly at Asher's explanation.
The movement was subtle, but after spending so much time around her, Asher immediately understood the silent question hidden behind it.
Why stop here?
Of all places, why near the Bear Tribe's territory?
The Alpha seemed to read her thoughts without difficulty. "Don't overthink it," he said calmly.
Aurora remained where she was, sitting atop the fallen log while watching him.
Asher gestured toward the surrounding forest. "You have been riding on my back for hours. I wanted you to rest before we continue." His gaze briefly swept across the trees. "We just happened to cross this area." Then he added, "We are still far enough from Bear Tribe territory. There's nothing to worry about."
For a second, Aurora simply stared at him. Then a quiet chuckle escaped her. The sound was soft enough that another person might have missed it entirely. Asher, however, noticed immediately.
