Kellen turned. The cold had flushed his cheeks, but his eyes were clear, unbothered. "I'm used to it."
She stepped out beside him and immediately regretted it when the wind cut through the fur like it wasn't there. "Why are you out here without a hide cover? You'll freeze."
He smiled - a real smile, the kind that reached his eyes. "Snow Lions don't feel the cold. Remember?"
"I remember being jealous of it."
Kellen's smile faded into something softer. He reached out and pulled her against his chest, wrapping his arms around her. His skin was warm despite the snow.
"Then stay close."
Aurora leaned into him, her cheek against his chest. The wind howled around them, but pressed against Kellen, she barely felt it.
"What are you doing out here?" she asked again.
He was quiet for a long moment. When he spoke, his voice was low, almost carried away by the wind. "I have away for a while. So I just wanted to take the view in."
