Lucas went straight to Ethan, who was standing near a few small playthings. When Eli saw Lucas, he ran toward him. "Dad! Papa didn't even buy me whatever I want at all!" Eli complained.
Lucas's anger at Selena instantly evaporated. "Oww, come! I'll buy everything myself for my son!" He scooped Eli up and bought him countless toys.
"Ahhh, can we eat something? I'm hungry," Lucas said afterward. They went to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Lucas ordered everything Ethan liked.
"Ohhh, it's already the second day you're eating outside food! Did you forget that tomorrow night we're going to camp? If Eli gets ill, how am I supposed to take care of him there?" Ethan scolded gently.
Lucas leaned close to Ethan and whispered, "Did she harm you before I got there?"
Ethan checked Eli first—the boy was busy eating—and continued talking softly to Lucas. "Ahhh, no. I'm worried about you. Did you fight them? There were so many bodyguards there! Did they harm you?" Ethan checked Lucas's hands for injuries.
"Hey, we didn't even fight at all! I warned her. I guess she won't come again," Lucas reassured him. He then took a deep breath. "I'm sorry. Actually, five years ago, after our breakup, for three months, I was so angry and didn't even try to search for you. But after my brother and your sister died, I was so terrified and searched everywhere, but you disappeared like you never existed."
His voice was full of deep sorrow. "I went back abroad. After that, Mom always appointed so many girls to pursue me to get married, but my heart belonged to you already. Whether you were with me or not, I couldn't date them at all. Selena is one of them. My mom appointed her to marry me. She pursued me with two deals here: you should go there for business, and for dating that girl. That's why I came here. And unfortunately—maybe fate, destiny, God—made me see you again. And I tried hard to get you to love me again."
Ethan's eyes were wet. "And you made it. Even before you came here, I was just angry and disappointed at you because you didn't even trust me at all. That's it. But my love is only for you. After I raised Eli single-handedly, I forgot every pain just seeing him daily." Ethan looked at Eli, who was still oblivious to their conversation.
"Ahhh, I have one thing, but you need to give me something in return," Lucas said, his eyes shining.
"What's that?" Ethan asked.
Lucas handed a small box to Ethan. "Ah, what's this?" Ethan opened it.
Inside was his old watch. It was completely repaired, polished, and shining.
Ethan's eyes teared up instantly. "Oww, ahh, how did you get that?"
"Ah, I saw it this morning in your cupboard and realized you still had it," Lucas said. He then got up and knelt in front of Ethan, holding his hand out. "This watch you gifted me five years ago for my birthday, but unfortunately, it held some dark memories by cracking. But now, you yourself will tie it on my hand again."
Eli, seeing Lucas kneeling in front of Ethan, jumped up. "Ohhh, my Dad is purposing my Papa!" he shouted excitedly.
A crowd quickly gathered, watching them. Ethan, crying tears of overwhelming happiness, took the watch and tied it gently onto Lucas's wrist.
The return thing is. "Tell me now, will you love me again, like five years ago?" Lucas asked, his voice thick with emotion.
Ethan happily nodded, jumped down, and hugged Lucas tightly, sobbing into his shoulder. Everyone cheered. "Ohhhhhhh!"
Eli danced around them. "Oh, my Dad proposed my Papa! My Dad proposed my Papa!"
Afterward, it was time to go home. Lucas carried Eli, whose hands were full of toys, while Ethan hugged Lucas's arm.
In front of their car, a large luxury car suddenly pulled up and parked, blocking their way. Arlo jumped out and rushed toward them.
"Ah, Sir, you have a meeting urgently now! Your mother is here, and she wants to meet you now!" Arlo said, her face pale.
Lucas and Ethan were both shocked. "Ah, Ethan, don't worry, I'll handle this." He quickly put Eli into Ethan's arms, along with all the groceries and toys, and threw everything into Ethan's car.
"You both go now! Bye! We can meet again at the camp! Be safe!" Lucas said.
"Dad!" Eli cried, terrified of the sudden separation.
"Oww, my son." Lucas kissed Eli's head and even planted a quick kiss on Ethan's forehead. "Tomorrow, we meet again in the evening. Don't worry," Lucas promised Eli before getting into the luxury car.
As Arlo followed Lucas, she gave Ethan a brief, suspicious look that clearly screamed: "We are in danger!" Ethan immediately understood the coded warning and worried intensely.
Arlo and Lucas drove straight to Lucas's hotel. "Ah, Arlo, when did Mom get here?" Lucas asked.
"In just a minute, Sir," Arlo replied.
"Okay, I'll take a shower before she comes here and get ready," Lucas said.
Lucas quickly took a shower and changed into a casual outfit to meet his mother. He walked into the hall, expecting to see Sefan.
"Ohhh, Mom, I'm sorry I didn't even know you were here! By the way, why didn't you tell me you were going to come here?..."
Lucas stopped dead. Sitting there was not Sefan. It was Victoria.
"Ohhh, my sweet nephew! You've already grown so much! Come here, your Aunt is here!" Victoria said, a knowing, dangerous smile on her face.
